Has anyone heard Dolores do this song with just an acoustic guitar in a French radio station studio. Totally focused on Dolores, showcasing her singing abilities. Awesome!
It's not just the drummer who's a fucking powerhouse. Everyone on stage for this song is providing top notch worship for their respective instruments. The Drums were loud, hard and perfectly in time to drive this song. The bass was fat and funky just the way I like it. The guitars SHREDDED that last solo like it owed them. And Dolores was an angel, too pure of voice, talent and goodwill for this world. Really awesome cover of a really badass song.
one of the rare occasions where the drummer just powers through this song and dominates the drive.... for me a rare treat to see. one of the best versions!
Just like in the original Fleetwood Mack version of this great song, Mick Fleetwood's drumming was always a little out of synth with John McVies bass, deliberately so, it was a band trait.
:) A Raw , Ruckus , Raggedy Assed R I O T --- -- So punch the key & take the RIDE ..... A N D when she yells ''SINGGIT'' , - she MEANS SINGGIT MUTHA'PHUCKER --- ''SINGGIT''
I think that the people (and I'm not one of them) who are slamming Dolores for her singing on this cover are being overly harsh, but what they're hearing is interesting. I noticed a major warble to her voice that might be omnipresent but is especially strong here. It's much less present on, say, Dreams (which I love) for some reason. But it doesn't kill the track by any means. Do I love Fleetwood Mac's original more? Yeah, I do, but this was worth a repeated listen.
GYOW is my favourite song of all time too. Honestly, I think Dolores is just about the only other person who'd do it justice, IMO. We lost someone really special when we lost her.
I became aware of the music of the Mind-boggling, Electrifying, Highly Talented Cranberries, on November 19th. of this year. I wish it were sooner; having seen "Dreams", I was determined to find out more, about the Group, particularly Dolores O'Riordan. I discovered that this Stunningly Beautiful Lady had passed away, on January 15th.,2018. This caused me great distress, to the extent that I literally wept. I don't think that there is any drummer that equals the Talent , of Fergal Lawler. The raw intensity of his performance, the skill, the Sound, is spectacular. THE CRANBERRIES - O Ireland, you have given our Planet such a precious Gift ! 💯❤ Roland Singh, Canada
I have been a fan since there debut album came out.Was absolutely gutting when she passed i cried like a baby.Nice to hear new fans are finding them. She seemed such a lost soul.I hope she is resting in ✌
Indeed, a terrible loss. I have never been so captivated by any Group(Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, The Shadows, Dire Straits Deep Purple, some of my favourites)as much as I am now; The Cranberries, awesome performers, all; particularly this Most Beautiful Lady, whose glorious Voice is to myself, UNIQUE and UNFORGETTABLE. SHE LIVES ON, her Voice will always be, with us.
There is a version of this on UA-cam that she sings live at a French radio station acoustically. Its stunning and such haunting you can see the pain in her face when she sings the line "Another lonely day".You should check it out if you haven't already.👍
Thanks, Arron. I actually saw this UA-cam Video, yesterday! Such Talent - Mind Searing Voice, the people who witnessed (background) her performance, seemed mesmerized. She leaves us with a legacy that will withstand the passage, of time. I'm proof of, that; I am over sixty-five years old and a fan, from this November 19th., onwards ! Roland Singh, Canada
Could not have expressed my feelings better than what you have said Roland!!! You are on point Buddy!!! Greetings from Cronulla Beach Sydney Australia!!! Stay safe in these crazy times!!!
I really, really, really love this song... well, this version. They made a masterpiece, and Dolores sings it in a hard way, only possible because of her voice... many tones, much strength... absolutely fabulous!! The lyrics are not made of them... but they way they sing them, and play them, take another level of meaning. I just love this song, and moreover, the way the play it.
Its got guts. Its got power. Its got drive - its got volume. The guitar solo flows like liquid gold. The bass is fluid but with attack. The drums are poweraholic ... and on top of it all - it's got Dolores stomping around in a wild frenzy !! Just breath takingly perfect and gets the goosebumps travelling up me - this version (with a decent pair of headphones) as few other live covers have the power to do .... YEAH!
You start with one of the worlds best drummers ever......some really good musicians .....and add that voice ????? The CRANBERRIES.......too awesome. Good bye my love.
When I hear this lady sing... something cries out ,deep down from my eternal soul... This drummer is off...???? This drummer is ,and always has been ,F I R E P O W E R.
Rest in Peace, Dolores....! We all miss you!!! Including your eminent performances. But we''ll keep all your best songs and lyrics in our heads, including the very best of Cranberries.... Best tradition !
R.I.P Dolores... your voice is in my head This is the dogs bollox, a cracking version. Christ is she missed, RIP D ❤ That drummer keeps it all together for this group amazing!
I never tire watching DO's originally cute gait onstage..always to the beat. Her heart was pure rhythm, her voice was genuine soul. Her stage presence, playfully innocent, yet commanding. Dolores, You're so utterly transcendent- much gratitude for sharing Your beautiful uniqueness; Your raw, untainted talent! Your Spirit LIVES ON ETERNALLY!! 😇💔
Like has been said before, their drummer is a beast. Not just on this track, but generally. He and the bass player have such a strong influence on the music. Much the same vein as John McVie and Mick Fleetwood were in the F/Mac heyday, the rhythm section is strong and lays the foundation in their best music. Dolores could sing like an angel. Sadly missed by so many, such a shame and loss to the world.
Fergal Lawler the drummer does that to the viewer.....he loves his job and it shows.....He had Dolores back every night and and made her even better.....

this was always a great song & the cranberries did it extra credit by elongating the finish!
if you don't agree, you can 'go your own way'!!
