I totally get it. If the breach of contract doesn’t measure up to 75k from diverse citizens of different states, there no federal subject matter jurisdiction, and the case should be filed in state rather than federal court, unless of course the is a federal statue that allows it (like some labor discrimination laws, or an environment protection law). But if the case arises from a civil rights violation, which is a constitution protection to any citizen, regardless if they are from the same or different state, both courts , state and federal, have concurrent jurisdiction. A corporation is incorporated/headquartered in Virginia and I planned to file with middle district of Florida for breach of contract. I originally was going with federal question because the corp is authorized to do business here, or would I diversity case be proper? Now I’m thinking about taking to to federal court due to my use of the U.C.Cs. Please help😢
My question here is what determines what cases go to state courts vs. Federal? The statutes? Are there times when a case would win in federal rather than in a state court? Thanks

Most courts have civil coversheets, if you find a provision for each section then that court has subject matter jurisdiction.
