Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel to check out today's video about "How To Grow Long Relaxed Hair For Beginners." In this video, I discuss what you need to know to START and create a healthy relaxed hair care routine. I forgot to mention in this video that you would need a nice heat protectant of your choice for monthly heat passes. Please keep in mind that everyones hair and lifestyle is different so tailoring your routine to fit your hair and needs is key!

Omg I miss you so much. I'm glad you're back team relaxed. I tried natural and almost went bald. This must be a sign. Glad you're here again. My hair was flowing following your reg last time 🙏🏾
These tips also are important for natural hair growth. Healthy hair is healthy hair, whether it's relaxed or natural. The only thing I would say is that with natural hair you have to be very mindful of mechanical damage. Curly, coily hair is more prone to tangles and knots, so a lot of damage can happen if you don't detangle carefully. In contrast, relaxed hair is fragile due to chemical damage. So like you said, limiting heat use is important, and protein treatments can strengthen your hair.
@@Mai-sx3yf By "healthy hair" I was referring to hair that retains length and doesn't have split ends. You can have relaxed hair that is healthy by this definition. It's still chemically damaged, but doesn't necessarily have mechanical damage (split ends, breakage, etc.)

Great advice this coincides with a heatlhy hair care routine. Most people do not realised balding can be a form or unhelathy haircare routine and once this changes to a healthy one the hair can be regrown even after balding that may have existed for 15 years or on and off.

My mom said my hair is short lol but tbh it doesn’t bother me because I want my hair long lol…I’m so in love with the 70s and I love the long shag I have now but I want it longer…I absolutely LOVE 70s glam metal hair
I know I’m suppose to tie my hair up at night , but that’s the WEAKEST part of my regimen. I cleanse, deep condition, and moisturize my hair often, NO heat... everything. But falling asleep without bonnet is my downfall 🥴. My hair is still very nice , but I could only imagine keeping my hair tied every night. I’ve been natural 16 years now .
I started my relaxed hair journey with Cathy Howse: Ultra Black hair care book. It is my hair bible and I applied the methods she outlined in her book and my hair flourished. It wasn’t just growing, it seemed to be dripping out of my scalp, I could see the results, knowledge and consistency paid off big time. Everyone noticed the immediate changes in my hair. I reached armpit, bra strap, lower bra strap and waist length. The books instructions helped me reduce breakage while retaining length. I saw the Chris Rock documentary of the relaxer cream eating a soda can. I decided to go natural after two years of spending hours detangling my matted, knotted and tangled hair, I started texlaxing which is not sustainable. Too many textures. I am fully relaxed again and am very close to armpit length. Being relaxed or natural is a lifestyle and a journey each one chooses for themselves. #teamrelaxed
Thank you for this video! I'm about to relax my hair for the dirt time everrr and I hadn't realized a relaxed regimen is very similar to a natural hair one. I previously thought washing relaxed hair weekly would wash out the relaxer 🙈 so good to get proper knowledge 👌

You explained everything so gracefully.
Omg I remember those forums! And since then I have been relaxed and big chop and went natural like 5 times. But back to relaxer for good!
True tripple og! You have really taught me a lot over the years and been along with me on my journey as well.
Aw thank you so much!
Just relaxed last month... After 8yrs of natural (6yrs dreads and 2 years afro)...and this vid just what I need.
Thank you so much for this detailed video. I am about to jump off that natural hair train to join the texlax train.
Thank you for watching!!
I’m purchasing this book now. Thanks for sharing this info.
Texlaxing for me works great 🤷🏽♀️
Enjoyed listening in, I use both protein and moisture treatment depending on the state of my hair. Either or both
Yeeeess. Amazing hair megz. Very informative as usual. Thank you c
Thank youuu and thank you for watching!
I’m so contemplating relaxing my hair!
Have you decided hun? X
@@anablessed not yet! I love the look but am worried about the damage
Awesome tips. Relaxed a year ago and suffered a setback a few months ago. Will use these tips to get back on track.

Thank yooou! Congratulations on your new hair journey!
Me too & im scared it sounds like a lot of work lol
Keep it simple sista omg those forum were so helpfull. Thanks to you and many other, i was able to take care of my hair back in 2008 i think… 🥰
Thank you for this video! I'm about to relax my hair for the dirt time everrr and I hadn't realized a relaxed regimen is very similar to a natural hair one. I previously thought washing relaxed hair weekly would wash out the relaxer 🙈 so good to get proper knowledge 👌
I swear I've always thought a relaxer can be washed out too 😅
Thank you for this. Been watching since 2012 and your advice is priceless. Excited for the product video!
Thank you so much for watching!!
As a white mom of a black little girl, I NEEDED your beginner friendly instructions. So thank you!
Please don’t relax that baby’s hair. We are adults who can make that decision and hate that our parents did that to us as children.
Thank you Ever kindly for a great video!
Your tips do work, I been here since 2014
Can't wait to see more videos like this.
Have a wonderful week. God Bless you 🙏🏽 ❤
Aw thank you thank you for watching!!!
Hi Megz, I greatly appreciate this video. No doubt you have years of experience and from this wealth of knowledge you have made a very simple and honest yet very effective video on how to grow and care for relax hair. Thank you
Thank yoooou!!!
I just relaxed my hair after 10 years natural 😌 feeling very excited about growing my relaxed hair nice long and healthy
How is it going with growing you relaxed hair
@@somethingspecial1415 Hey👋🏿I'm having a ball tbh 😊My hair is healthy and manageable. I visit the stylist regularly. Next I'm opting for a texture release instead of a full relaxer. I've NO regrets!!
great tips ! im on a similar hair journey and my hair looks so much more healthy
Megz is awesome! Love your tips girl! ❤

Good day my Dear,
This was easy to understand and simple to follow.
Thanks! ❤️
Thank you and thank you for watching!!! 🤗🤗
Man! you are beautifully made. Love from Jamaica
Thank you so much 😀
Good tips! I think geared more towards low porosity though just in case people wonder why certain things may not be working well on their hair eg liquid moisturisers, needing heavier sealants and more protein. I learnt these things late! Great all the same
watched once and rewatched to take notes ❤
Very informative! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
