This is with all races. I know plenty of white people and conversations with many who don't allow sleep overs. I was the opposite and the parents and I were on the same page, great full nothing ever happen to my girls who are now 15 and 18. The line of communication was always open and so much more with my children as well as the other adult parties involved.
Can someone enlighten me why don't you know Mexican family or any other family will allow their children to have sleepovers especially when they make friends and I want to get closer to their friends and being more interacting with them

They recognised also how it is important to spend quality times with their kids , by being nurturing and at the same time it is not allowing their kids to take control over them..They are protective and meant well with disciplining their children.
Exactly I grew up in a Christian Pentecostal home my father was Co-Pastor So yeah they were strict with us but we all are very thankful for the education and upbringing our parent's gave us🙏

When your kids are young you can't be friends with them you have to be the parent. As you grow older and your kids grow older that's when you become friends. A good relationship between a mother and a daughter would be a friendship once the child reaches her twenties. But while they're growing and need that guidance you cannot be their friend.
Every parent has their own parenting skills they bring to the table & share with each other as parents. One thing I always believed in was communication & teaching them life skills. Also respect your parents. 😎

If you study cases of killings ,you would realise that many young kids did not listen to their parents and you are right, too much freedom without responsibilities and discipline can tilt the balance. They all indulge too soon in sexual activities. Being in a strict , disciplined and GODLY MORALS are wonderful elements to a successful upbringing .What we sow with our kids is what we reap. We don't need to be too strict either. But it is very important to know who our kids are hanging out with.
And also, every child is different. Not every child can be parented the same way. You can’t just pick an approach forever to treat children no matter the personality or the age. You need to learn and adjust your approach to them based on every situation, based on their personality, based on the culture and the environment. Parenting is an ever-evolving process that will grow and change constantly. It’s a fluid thing. You don’t just say This is what I believe and Im gonna do it. Cuz then you’re already being stubborn and closed minded. If you’ve never been a parent you’re gonna see that being open minded is what will help you figure out how to raise them. Having Children make you realize you were wrong and didn’t know anything. It will humble you, and I guarantee what you think right now, it will change.

i couldnt go out period. no sleepovers. no movies. no after school activities but one in 8th grade that we tricked my dad into thinking was required to pass lol. no sports events, parties, school dances, no prom, couldnt take drivers ed, not even detention. im "strict" as a parent too but not to the extent my mom and dad raised us. they can participate with school related things only. but no sleepovers or movies and parties. i dont trust anyone. not even other kids. my kids arent going to be hurt. im not risking it.

My mother didn’t allow it nor did I allow it with my children. My best friend was allowed to do sleepovers and her friend’s father raped her at the age of 9!!! This adult male waited until everyone was asleep and had sex with practically a baby. It’s disgusting to even think of.

I would say it’s healthiest to be 60% Mom 40% Friend. Some kids won’t know how to create friends if their parents never treated them like one.
