The movie is slow and boring up until LUIS ALBERNI enters at the 21 minute mark. After that its beyond sensational. If you leave early I feel sorry for you to miss such a phenomenon of comedy. 21 minutes to the end is superb. Luis Alberni carries the film with every scene he's in and Helene Lynd's last scene is quite beautiful and sensational as well. You wont want to miss that. You'll remember it forever. Their characters but especially Alberni's is the whole reason for this film.
Rosero played by Luis Alberni and Ginger played by Helen Lynd are the real stars of this! Absolutely no one could bring what they brought to the table here.
21 minutes in and that is a tremendous balancing act. LOL As a kid I thought this was amazing, now it looks stupid! LOL I don’t want to watch this cuz even 21 minutes in and it’s not that great.
They called it a comedy. But three or two minutes in to a laurel and Hardy film and I am laughing. But 18 minutes in to the above movie and I am out of here. Sorry but there just seems nothing in any scene to laugh at.
Thanks Michael. Saved me the bother of finding out for myself. Got an extensive collection of Stan and Ollie material. And I have been a lifetime fan. Oh! And I am 85 in March. Regards.
@@ronaldstrange8981 I bet you can not go 5 minutes in to A Larel and Hardy with out a laugh. I still have not watched the above whollly through. I think I will try 3 L&H films for 5 minutes only and count my lanughs. Which ever top three titles come up in the UA-cam search.
@@ronaldstrange8981 I have seen The Music Box maybe 10 times over the years so know it is incredible L&Hardyesque. 1 minute and 54 seconds then the stupidest L&Hardyesque mishap occures resulting in a high laugh that almost seemed to touch the ceiling. Even surprised myself when Oliver explains 'this needs a little forethought' and crouches down on hands & knees saying to Stan to ease the piano on to his back. LOL-The horse looks around as if needing to get in on the act and give a helping hoof. So the horse steps a few paces forwards resulting in Oliver squashed under the fallen piano. Even then he crys out in pain as his fingers get trapped but that's when round two of laughing starts. I didn't watch any more as I know those steps to the very top then there is the ladder and water scene. Very funny. I have one lined up to watch. One with a spooky house in the front image.
Laurel and Hardy made a pre Music Box film called Hats Off which used the Music Box steps. Unfortunately it is one of the rare lost Laurel and Hardy films
Wow! A really young John Payne! Thanks!!
