To give a different perspective: I struggled really, really badly with connections today. Longest I've spent on it in weeks. The order you find categories can really affect your thought process. My usual strategy is to find all 4 categories first so that I can try for Reverse Rainbow. I found tree parts: TRUNK, LIMB, BRANCH, BOW first. Then saw the parts of a fried chicken meal: BISCUIT DRUMSTICK CORN WING second. It's very rare to have two red herring categories without any overlap. That alone was enough to completely throw me off. I saw the elephant features too, but didn't consider MEMORY, so thought that was the actual red herring and ignored it. I eventually found the instrument accessories, that convinced me to restart the puzzle. But then I was convinced that they built the puzzle around the tree parts and wanted to keep LIMB and BRANCH in separate categories. The worst part of it all is that it's actually BOUGH, not BOW in that context, and I knew that.
@@scottbathurst I was so close to this as well, glad to know someone else struggled too. I thought (EAR TUSK TRUNK LIMB) would be “Parts of an elephant observed by proverbial blind men”.
@@IsaacCatabia-mi9th dunno about other people, but hints feel like cheating for me in this game. I think because I'm paying attention to my streak. I get hints all the time in Strands. 😄
I got Connections in the same order as you did today, but with one mistake. I fell for the Drumstick, Wing, Corn, Biscuit thinking it was a fried chicken meal In my defense, it was very early in the morning...and I was starving 🤣
I made the Fried Chicken meal mistake but that was my only mistake. I don't think Corn is a stretch at all for that. It's a common side at chicken restaurants.
Connections: ❌❌❌🟨🟩🟦🟪 (was all over the place, but also on the right track 🙃) Mini: 5:02--state, tenth, and meh alluded me! And made we worry utter wasnt right Strands: Rangsk Perfect!
Today was easy for me on connections too, no mistakes, pretty much the same as you except I got the instrument things second and the elephant bits third, I didn't think there were many red herrings for any category The strands and mini were also pretty simple, once again the spanagram started in the top right and had the distinctive letters of the word kitchen, which made it really easy
I couldn’t handle Connections today, but I did really well with Strands and Mini Crossword. I figured out state immediately, bc I lived in MA for 10 years.
🟩🟨🟦🟪 Limb was weird in the yellow category, but got the first 2 pretty easily. Then I saw the elephant one, did not get purple and never would have, but no mistakes. Funny how Lincoln could have so many things associated with (president, Lincoln logs, Lincoln tunnel, Lincoln Memorial, the car, …) and none of those were it.
I didn’t know the elephant memory thing and was like is this dumbo and he has wings? But he doesn’t have tusks so I didn’t guess it until my husband said the memory thing.
Thank you Connections for returning to some semblance of normalcy. I am ambivalent about Strands Spangrams that are right across the top or bottom. I like weird shapes that bisect or section the puzzle in some fun way. Connections: 🟦🟩🟪🟨 Mini: 0:59 Strands: Rangsk Perfect

I hadn't noticed (twigged!) that it would've been spelt Bough if it were a limb category. D'oh!

U can search for hints to connections online

I get hints all the time in Strands. 😄
It is not cheating unless u look up a whole category or more
Came over from TikTok, love comparing how I do with your efforts each day, part of my routine. Love the content!
Welcome, and I'm glad you enjoy my content!

“State” definitely just “happened” for me. Never would’ve thought of that in a million years 😅
Definitely a tricky clue
got reverse rainbow today! so proud of myself
As you should be!
Perfect in connections. Rangsk perfect for Strands 🎉
I thought of corn and buscuit being band names early on, but I didn't keep looking for other names until later.
I made the Fried Chicken meal mistake but that was my only mistake. I don't think Corn is a stretch at all for that. It's a common side at chicken restaurants.
I got green first in Connections; figured out purple. No mistakes. Pleased! Almost lost my streak in Wordle, but got it in six.

Its nice seeing how different the editing style is from Tiktok. Hope you and the family are doing well!
Connection order - green blue yellow purple. No errors and was able to name all the categories.

That helps!
You said ‘limp biscuit’ at the very start. 😂
yes I did lol
Purple first today! and green almost got me...
I got blue yellow today but yet again green tripped me up too many mistakes on stick like things or food combos 😂😂
I still consider your strands a Rangsk perfect and I did the same thing.
I put in wing, drumstick, corn and biscuit. I was thinking of a chicken dinner. That was my only mistake.
I thought the same, but specific to a KFC order
When you said "if you thought of TRUNK and TUSK..." my brain tried to parse it as TRUMP and MUSK.
Arse is actually pretty much a swear word in the UK, probably even more sweary than ass in the US
Huh, I thought it was about the same level of swearyness

Yeah, we’ve had the branch and wing category before..
I got the STATE clue almost immediately after getting there
I didn’t know the elephant memory thing and was like is this dumbo and he has wings? But he doesn’t have tusks so I didn’t guess it until my husband said the memory thing.
Backsplash threw me off a bit. I think it's also said the other way around. I found Splash and was confused that Back wasn't where I thought it'd be.
Interesting, I've only heard backsplash but google seems to agree with you
@Rangsk suspect it's regional/non US?
KFC sells corn, biscuits, and drumsticks and I was sure that would be a category
You aren't alone on that one! I just didn't consider it, so I guess I got lucky there.
I didn’t understand state in mini crossword until you just explained it…
It's a tricky one for sure
Bands that AJ Soprano listened to
