Spot on review with my assessment of the 8 pro. I compared it between my 23 ultra and my daughter's pixel 8 pro. I came away impressed. It's the first time I came away , blown away by the videos and photos of my beloved Samsung. Compared to Apple's offerings and anyone else's, I looked at the pixel's results and it was like looking at the world through a much better pair of eyes. The vision I experienced with pixel was not challenged by anyone else. It's just another level there's no comparison to.
Yet people claim iPhone have the best cameras. You described it really well. Everytime I look at a picture shot with my Pixel, I smile. Love the Pixel look and its HDR! There is really no comparison.
For me the pixel 8 pro is the first ever Google phone which feels like a near complete flagship with no obvious downsides
The Tensor chip is an obvious downside for me. Not necessarily for its lack of performance, but for its horribly inefficient modem that makes it bad at being, you know, a phone?
Tensor chip is not a performer for gaming, cellular connection is still worse than competitors, and charging speed is abysmal if you ever had 65 watt or higher
The Chip and the Charging Speed is so obvious. Google Tensor would be better if it was manufactured by TSMC. Samsung Foundry is just bad. And the Charging Speed could be better.
Traded phones with my wife the pixel is amazing
@@LTEAndroidwhat cellular connection issues do you mean? I'm in the process of choosing a new camera-phone with very good battery life.
Great to hear.
I'm loving my Pixel 8! 🙌🏽🔥
It finally feels like a complete product after the December update. Im not even talking about new AI features. Just overall stability and smoothness.
Hello , have they solved the Scrolling jitter issue? Mostly in native Google apps like play store etc ???
Frankly speaking, this also applies to the regular Pixel 7. So much smoother, so much stabler than before.
Is this after the latest update where they buffed the tensor gpu in the December update?
Pixel 8 pro is my first pixel ever and coming from an iPhone, it feels amazing and this was the review that I was waiting for so long so thank you
same here! coming from an iphone 14 pro max. Pixel 8 Pro is slick
@@DrivebyKnight fr
Same. My first pixel ever and I can't see myself going back to iPhone 🔥
@@DrivebyKnightWas it a big change from ios to android?
Welcome to the other side! 😊
I couldn't imagine using any other phone than my P8P. It is SNAPPY, feels so high quality in the hand, has a beautiful screen, a clean and functional UI, amazing cameras, decent battery life, great speakers, and the best haptics I have felt.
How is your battery experience up to date? Do you have any issues or any complains about it? I am planning to get one soon, so without any biases.what are the cons of this phone for you?
I have 8 pro. Battery is good but not great and it gets warm occasionally. Other then that. Flawless !@@sr-wy7ie
I returned the S23 Ultra I had for a little over a week and kept my Pixel 8 Pro, I love this phone! 🏆👑
agreed! the Pixel 8 Pro really feels like the polished, refined, and perfected version of the Tensor Pixels! with that being said though, the older ones also work very well rn...I'm still on my Pixel 6 Pro and the software updates have made it just as smooth as the new ones
Yes bro only downside is tensor ... But again only if you want raw power other than that on day to day usage pixel feels fast and snappier than galaxy and even iphone 15 pro.. if you are not a heavy usage guy it's perfect... That phone is ment for people to make life easier... Not for playing games and editing video go buy a pc for that 😅
Excellent review. I switched from my S22 Ultra to the 8 Pro and have to say I love this phone. I also picked up the case from google, and I am very impressed. I just love the look and feel as well as the overall experience.

Great review - agreed, this years 8Pro is finally the Pixel we all been waiting for. Am excited to see future Pixels only getting better and even more refined! Loving my 8Pro :)
We all? Speak for yourself...most people are waiting on a new Nexus 5. A good fast Google phone for under $300 not $1000
@@alejandroperez5368those days are gone. Or spend a little more than your said budget, and get the A series for like 400 or so. Or wait till the 1000 Pixel is like 2-3 years old, then grab one.
I liked the review though I wish you'd discussed video quality. I've heard it's greatly improved but would have liked to see it. 😊
I switched from my Pixel 7 Pro to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Two months later, I've given the iPhone a proper try and now I'm exploring the best way to sell it and buy the Pixel 8 Pro lol.
I've been there before haha!
I was ready to stick mine on ebay in the first week but i persevered and after it bedded in, learned my usage habits and maybe had some software updates behind the scenes, i can say its a great phone. I love the clean software, which runs really smoothly now. camera is great and battery life is best ive had in a phone for years. Struggle to find much fault with it and knowing it will be supported for years means i can pass it down to my kid when im ready to upgrade and he can get a good couple of years of life out of it. Can recommend it to anyone.
I can get this phone for 600 bucks using the gold member perks on play store. I was going to wait for s24 ultra but i recetly cracked my screen and am still getting around 150 for it so with the trade in it would cost me $450. But my only worry is connectivity, rest of the quirks i am already familiar but connectivity issue is the most annoying. Can someone who used both 6 pro and 8 pro tell if connectivity improved between 6pro and 8 pro. If i buy an s24 ultra i have to do it via carrier and just thr downpayment would be $400. So if connectivity is decent i can stikc with 8 pro until 10 gets released
Would I see much difference coming from a one plus 10 pro?
Google Pixel 8 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? Camera wise.
I'm leaning towards purchasing this phone but for work purposes need a dual sim device. Not convinced as yet that a 'e sim' concept would work for me...
Great vid; I thought the whole point of the tensor chips isn't about sheer grunt but about AI 🧐🧐
50 or 12 Megapixels? How do you Setup? Thx
Loving my pixel 8 pro
I like the Pixel. Its a great phone for work and photography.
No way it's Ryan Thomas on Android Policr 😳
Pixel8Pro is my favourite phone of the year ❤
Likewise ❤
How many minutes to charge?
Thanks for audio eraser demo - for me it flattens the voice way too much
Well said.
Clicked expecting Anderson, and got a copy :( wheres Zac? We miss ur reviews bro😢
Great presentation, thank you
hows the modem is it still shitty like the 6 and 7 models?
For cell coverage, it basically mirrors my s23u. Maybe a bar or 2 off. But it's comparable in my usage. What I do find is the Wi-Fi speeds aren't as strong as the s23u. So it's not noticable there unless doing a speed test.
@@michaelbrown5680 thanks for the honest info. people often praise these devices without acknowledging the slow data transfer speeds.
for my pixel 7 pro both cellular and wifi are slow af compared to my OnePlus 7pro
Yes. Slurps my battery like nothing. I’m lucky to get 4h SOT on LTE, streaming audio at work.
Is this after the latest update where they buffed the tensor gpu in the December update?
Make a review of Fairphone
I don't get it, while I like some things about the Pixel 8 Pro, the battery is trash, the modem is even trashier. I can't get this phone to last more than 12hrs, IT IS NOT A 2 DAY PHONE FOR HEAVY USERS, 7hrs of SoT is what I get. I rode the train yesterday for a 20minute ride and my battery dropped 5% on that ride.
I live in a major metropolitan area with a mmWave antenna right in front of my apartment, I don't get nearly the speeds I get on my Samsung phone. The screen is midrange at best. Yes, it has a high peak brightness, that is maybe 2 minutes before it dims dramatically. You need to have this phone at 70% for the screen to be readable. Whereas my S24U I can have it at less than 50% for it to be bright enough. Tap the screen of a Samsung or iPhone flagship and you hear a solid sound, tap the screen of Pixel and you hear a hollow sound. It's just an inferior screen for $1000.
Anyone else having stuttering and frame drops in gaming after the update.
Can someone help me how to remove ultra hdr? It can get annoying when it get different result everytime i send it to friend.
I think they added an option with the latest update, you can toggle it off
Had my 6 pro for two yrs might trade it in for z fold five i want that phone so bad . Ill have my 8 pro till pixel 10 pro comes out lol.
I have it, and I'm not impressed. It chokes with connectivity issues all the time. Tensor processor sucks. Going back to Galaxy S in February
I had connectivity issues on pixel 6 pro how better or worse it is if you have tried 6 before??
I never have connectivity issues on mine. Could it be the other side of the connection?
Is this after the latest update where they buffed the tensor gpu in the December update?
Unfortunately the battery is a disaster! Aside from the WiFi, the battery is unreasonable. In standby mode the phone loses 2 - 3% per hour which is not acceptable
Yeah that is not good, but battery can go thought 7-8 hours usage
You must have an app or 2 running in the background to drain the battery in standby like that, go through all your app in settings app management, and have a look at your apps, if it says force close, force close it ie Facebook, messenger, wattsapp, these 3 drain the battery,so force close these apps or any apps that you might think drains the battery when on standby, see if it improves after force closing.
@@wakinguptothetruth.2566 Pixel is best smartphone, but standby is just trash
As an owner of the pixel 8 pro, i can tell that its my favorite android now. Its smooth, its clean and the camera is just reliable.
Especially the camera is a step up to the s23 ultra.
I switched from iPhone 13PM and the pixel is soooo smooth I'm in love with this phone and the cameras so so 🔥 I really don't miss iPhone to be honest
To be honest I'll wait for the Google pixel 10 pro when it should actually be able to compete against Apple and Samsung. Until then i hope my Pixel 7 pro will suffice!!
That’s what the said about the 8
the p7p will suffice until then, the pixel 8 pro is a pretty good phone but the 10 pro should be a nice jump when it arrives.
I have the 7pro. Like it but battery isn't great. I can upgrade for 380... But I think I'm gonna stick with it for the battery improvement that will eventually come
I just got mine today.
How’s it been for you?
I don't understand how gaming on a phone took off like it has
2 day phone is nonsense. Unless you turn everything off and don't use your phone. It barely lasts an 8 hour shift, without needing to charge to make sure it lasts on the commute home
This has been my experience too. Idk how they are getting 2 days of battery let alone 1 full day

Love my pixel 8 pro. Simply awesomeness. 💪🔥
The only downside is that as a person who has been to Japan several times, I could not use Osaifu-keitai unless I buy the Japanese version, which is crucial when Suica and PASMO cards used to ride trains across Japan are out of stock until further notice.
1792 and 4500 in geekbench 6 with a sd8+ gen1 Zenfone 9 , tensor g3 it's not bad but i bet my Zenfone 9 it's more efficient then Samsung tensor g3 😂 ( bigger exyons brother)
can you please comment on cellular connectivity and call quality of the pixel 8 pro ?
No prob in 3G/4G/5G clear
It blows. There's a delay with connectivity when using messaging apps when using data. All my settings are correct BTW. My Galaxy S didn't have this problems. The problem is the tensor processor
@@allenm6326Maybe it is Google's VPN service which delays connection?
Can someone who used 6 pro and 8 pro tell me if it improved even a little?
@@allenm6326sounds like your carrier is the issue. I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I'm getting better reception compared to my 15 pro max
I liked the colour of your tshirt.
Screw the eSIM, it's all about the physical SIM. Google has definitely created a compelling package that is superior to any iPhone.
I GOT MY 8 PRO FOR 699 AT BEST BUY AND THE PIXEL BUDS PRO FOR 79.99 AT BEST BUY AS WELL.
howwwwww????
@@ade6ayo THATS WAS THE DEAL IN PR FOR CYBER MONDAY.
The Snapdragon CPU's are still a lot more powerful than Google's offering. I think Google should've put the same Snapdragon processor and Adreno GPU that's in the S23 Ultra in the Pixel Pro. It would've made it the fastest phone on the market and it also would've made the camera better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Samsung probably doesn't let them they work together.
Replace the thermo sensor with 3x tele. That's perfection.
There's another downside, the phone's modem is subpar. On my other phone, S23+, it can reach 300 mbps on cellular, the most I've seen the 8Pro do is 70 mbps.
How do you find that out?
Same shitty fp reader and same mediocre battery as before.
I don't get this huge positive sentiment - a dead phone is a useless phone and a crappy fp reader will be prevalent everytime you use the damn thing.
Hold these gigantic companies to better standards...
iPhones are a good basic phone
Samsung are the powerful phones
Pixels are the smart most useful phones
Well, everythimg you said here is done better by oneplus 12 for $600.
Pixel has better software, camera, AI
Like Barrak Obama - even at 1.5x, you sound normal speed
I love my Pixel 7 but when it comes to other flagship Android phones. The pixel feels slower and is a boring phone. I've had a pixel since the 3 and now. My next phone won't be a Pixel.
Pixels are the best and are not boring. If you want a boring phone get an iPhone. Which phone are u going to get next
Pixel = slow to charge, heavy and poor battery
Pixel still has a long way to go to even come close to any Samsung phone. Maybe by the time the Pixel 10 rolls out we can have this conversation.
😂😂
Got my pixel 8 pro for about a month now. First time owning a pixel device. I must say that i encounter many things i don't like.
1. The finger print scanner is crap. A lot of times it wont recognize the fingerprint
2. Phone gets veryy hot doing very basic tasks
3. Face unlock also no working properly
4. Bluetooth connection is bad sometimes and u need to restart the phone to fix this
Too bad all the UA-cam tech reviewers dont mention a lot of these issues. This proves that a lot of reviews are paid for
Why do these feel like something I hear EVERY year? “This time Pixel is finally competitive.” 😂
And then the resale value goes to the ground, even with Google themselves; for that reason... No Google, I'm not buying your phones again. Getting 1/4 of the price or less to upgrade when less than a year of it's launch.
If you're so concerned about resale value, stick with iMessage devices (iPhones, as that is all they're good for).
Just stick to iPhone if you want to buy and sell your phone each year
@@DeadofWinter321I don't do iPhones... Ive been a Note user and ultra. Bought a 7 Pro and now the trade in or resale is so low. Like for example if I wanted to upgrade to the Pixel 8 Pro. It's not worth it when they offer so little.
@@carlos53kPixel 7 Pro is sold for $440 new for white color version. It is tempting for that price.
Most people aren't buying Pixels and then expecting great or good resale value. I usually keep mines after it's paid off, then pass it on to my kids. That will be even easier to do, with the longer software updates. If you wanna upgrade often and want a good resale value, go with an iPhone.
Pixel seems like its only good in the US lol
Perfect!
Samsung Modem Sucks. Samsung Foundry Sucks. Incredibly inefficient and spotty.
The 7 pro has the higher resolution and larger screen and better speakers…
its funny, when I watch Pixel review videos it sounds like everyone is describing a mid-range phone trying to catch up to flagships. This is a flagship phone people. It is supposed to be doing some things better than the rivals. Yet it's the worst in almost every category except photo editing features. I hope they get it right with Pixel 9, otherwise I'm stuck with a flawless iPhone.
Dude please move your body right-side as well, you seem half paralized. I was mainly concerned on your health than on the Pixel
Same here, even I was thinking what happened to his right hand especially😅😅
Why are you talking in dollars when you are English? £££££
It ain’t no iPhone, but it’s decent.
Clearly this guy isn't into fully customisable , crazy fast and lag free phones , and doesn't care for fast charging .
Software buggy ,camera inconsistent yeah its good😂
title should be * A fanboy's review of pixel 8 pro*
Pixel 8 Pro can't win versus S23 Ultra drop price and 15 Pro Max.
