THATS OUR BOY
YEAH
Yeah x2
the fact that such a successful and inspirational artist has no idea what hes doing makes me feel so much better about my own artistic endevours
Found Clanton’s music while I was waiting at an airport. Was flying while listening to slide. Truly amazing music
That sounds beautiful, I've also listened to clanton while flying, specifically 200% electronica.
I found his music on a really high tech and comfy bus while I was on vacation at Washington D.C. It was a lot more magical than it sounds. I remember hearing Never Late Again and watching the city go by
Slide represents 'the soundtrack' when my life changed drastically. It just happened to get released just in right time in August 2018. Every time when I hear this album, it just brings me back to August 2018. One album wakens the memories of near past.
That sounds awesome cant wait to fly again. Definitely gonna listen to this while flying.
such a good vibe for that
not a single bad song on both albums. hes the artist i tell my closest friends to listen to.
ok 1 or 2 notes at a time, 3 chord strumming + vintage warping effects and everything sounds right. love it!
I'm glad to know George is in his 30s and he's now just feeling like he's made it. It gives me hope that with all the crazy and random projects I work on will result in something better than myself.
I can imagine a this being one of the coziest places ever
I FUCKING LOVE HOW HONEST HE ISSSSSS HE DOESNT CAREEEEE I LOVE THAT OMG
i know right
That’s how anartist should be.
Love to see him get excited when talking about the project with Hexum
Wow, he looks different than when he was in Parliament or Funkadelic
😂
George Clanton liking Brian Jonestown Massacre just makes him infinitely more cool
Found his music from Anthony. Thank god he did a review on it. I love this album so much and love his music.
Gen X reporting for duty! lol. Long-time Clanton / Mirror Kisses / Esprit fan! Love this interview!
"ill put on cocktail jazz to have dinner to" got me spitting out my drink.
Something about George's entire presence is like some fascinating combo of Jack White, Grimes, Billy Corgan, and Aurora. It's an odd crew to pair together...but if you know those artists, I think you'll agree...George is kind of a bundle of _that._
I remember seeing this interview back in the covid times and falling in love with his music. And then this month, his new single I Been Young comes out...and it might be my favorite thing he'd done yet. So I'm going back to his older stuff, and I'm piecing together how smart and creative and interesting of a person he is. I hope he actually releases this new album soon; I need it this summer.
That combo was on point I can't unsee Jack white and billy corgan influence 😂
he has that ps1 sound to him
I bought this album from him at a concert
Eric: I like complexity (what he means: sweet harmonious layers of music)
George: I'm not complex (what he means: a wide array and variety of notes)
I think GC is very complex, like Eric says.
I watched this.....then saw the Dumb video.
And yeah.......I think I just found my new favorite artist/person.
I'm obsessed.....and I only found out he even _existed_ maybe 3 hours ago.
I'm so happy he exists. I love music....
I'm pretty new here too and feeling the same way.
Same for me with Puzzle and Enjoy.
The fact that Georgie is a BJM fan fills me with much joy, my parents used to listen to them in the car all the time, so they are a very nostalgic band for me, the two bands which influenced me to writing music was also Oasis and BJM.
Fan club represent!
Man its so cool to see another musician with similar approaches haha
I hope Slide gets released on CD one day
Buy a record player nerd.
Maybe he has them up on his bandcamp some day
its on cd now !! :D
WOW, never clicked a video faster. Huge fan of George.
For real man I was so hyped to see this video on my home page.
George has been my biggest inspiration in a very long time. Ever since I discovered him, I've been a massive fan, instantly. Thank you George. You rule, buddy.
Hopefully I can get my hands on that fan club album at some point.

i stan this man
Lmao I love how he’s staring at himself the whole time quite frightening, Beautiful interview, beautiful aesthetic composition and a delightful comfortable atmosphere.
I love this man.
awesome guy and artist
What a sweet surprise!!
I hope to go to electronicon one day
Just watched this for a second time...almost a year since I first saw it.
Rekindled my love of George's music. I gotta get back into it....
He comes across in this interview as such a kind cool genuine person. Love his attitude to everything. Very inspiring.
Also....his insight into how he creates music was _very_ interesting, and very much aligns with my approach and my thoughts on how music can break new boundaries moving into the future....
The Clantman stays making moves. I don't think any one person has done as much for internet sub-genres as he has
Play That Thing Again is so incredible.
Love this guys music! Got 100% electronica on cassette
such a great interview
Love him!
great interview!
I’m on the bus to nyc and this is One of the greatest interviews I’ve ever watched.
Amazing interview! I’m still looking forward to our shopping mall festival, by the way
love this dude
These videos are so good.
Good. Levelling about his creative process was so refreshing.
GREAT INTERVIEW
Man, I was just thinking : "I'd like to hear another interview of George Clanton"
what a nice interview 🌃
He is amazing!
I am inspired now to continue produce my music. Since i am not piano player. He is not either .
There are aspects of Clanton's music that remind me of Forest For The Trees. I'm not over comparing here. I just note similar vibes. I appreciate both artists' projects for what they are. Still, I can't help finding common sonic threads and feelings.
I love George
George is my hero
so cool man
Has anyone done a remix with this interview slowed down and some R E V E R B
This is just fucking great thank u
George ia god
this dude is a genius and his sp404 sets
Clanton's the Manton
Good point about BJM songs and been good on writing songs
Is punk rock dead.. because the members of Crass now go to pubs and watch soccer?!!! IS IT?! I was fortunate to stumble across Clanton's esprit album. It instantly connected with me. I really like this vaporwave stuff. I'm hitting 40 soon and the sounds really do put me back in that millers outpost era with straight legged jeans and small tshirts.
I first heard of Clanton from Vinyl Rewind, 2 years ago I think. Good interview too, Clanton turned they snark off completely.
Yo I fuckin love George Clanton and none of my friends relate I’m glad I found this comment section. Fuckin favorite artist ever. Slide is such a fucking phenomenal album.
He looks so pretty
He said V A P O R W A V E !
Good
My boy George Clanton looking like one of the twins from The Shining 👩🏽
First... srry xD. Love your videos, thx for all the cool stuff that you make
People use the word "complexity" to describe both musicality and tonality. George Clanton may not be very musically complex but is tonally rich. Musicianship and production ability aren't necessarily intertwined. Because many musicians don't record with separate producers and engineers there isn't as much collaboration. Artists may have to do all aspects by themselves instead of working with others that specialize in the recording arts or music theory.
He had me at Brian Jonestown Massacre
GenX is here too
He’s a man wearing a beret with confidence. This guys cool.
I’m sure other people have thought this before but I wanna see Bill Hader from the Hot Rod era and George Clanton in the same room.
George is the Jack White of Electronica. Both in approach and he kinda looks like him lol
Wait the vinyl geek released an album? Whats it called?
'MMMBop'
Ending with "catch you on the b side" seems like a missed opportunity :)
Review The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
what frame-rate is this shot at
48 fps
@@turqdeth thx
Is he ever going to let him talk.
George is god
Does George have a slight southern accent? Lol. I can’t exactly tell.
Virginia
Join the Klanton
I don't think they're talking about the same kind of complexity. George's music is acoustically complex but just not in the same way jazz is.
Really fucking sucks that all the plans for live stuff George had for the foreseeable future got basically thrown out the window by Covid-19. I was hyped for the tour with The Garden and Electronicon 3
Me to buddy
The guy calls himself Q?!
Not complex.. In my opinion he plays a sophisticated but simple music, he use unusual harmonic progressions, with a bit of sad colour
The interview guy is a creepy,,is it just a goof?
Seems perfectly normal to me your just weird
This interviewer is a really poor communicator.
