Why do I have a feeling after like 26 years. Old man Griffin is gonna come back in Gears 6. In 3, it certainly left us on a cliffhanger-esque position. I see him returning.
I always thought why didn't they bring him back could me a potential antagonist, maybe he will be leading some unlisted stranded camp in gears 6 or something.

Starve Lord not their fault period tbh , niles Sampson and his scientists splintered from the government and were working without the authorization of chairman dayell and the cog. Once the coalition caught wind of the illegal activity they sent gears to shut the facility down . Why in gears 5 you see the frozen squads of gears , is because during the raid, the locust began emerging from their containment, thus the battle remains of cog and locust shown in the facility . Niles then conducted a facility wide freeze killing all human personnel, to include the raiding gears, scientist personnel, and himself. Along side most of locust subjects , besides the ones in their tubes. Only myrahh and a few other subjects survived the skirmish and were left to increase the locust numbers over time. After the freeze the cog lost the location of the facility and returned its attention to the conflict with the uir.
I just love that they gave Clayton more to do than just being an assist; they gave him a rank, made him part of the story and an angoing character in Gears 5, not just a one chapter support. I just hope we see more of him In Gears 6, and he gets his own moment to shine (But not die)

Baird seems to have calmed down a lot as well because if jinn pulled that stunt on the OG Baird, especially the original gears of war Baird, then this would've played out way differently.

It's his general attitude though. Early on he's reprimanding JD but just has a stern voice rather than anger. Old age (and all the loss) really subdued him
