Most Hospitals I worked in had them. One hospital did not and so I made a form which I found online ,modified it and got it approved by the educational supervisor and used it.
Hello Dr kumar ,so nice of you to upload these videos and educate us about the CESR pathway, just a few quick questions. Is5 to 6 years time a reasonable time period for someone who has just finished his/her MS Ortho/Gen sx to get CESR? (A lot of people say it may take upto 10 years) And are most of the trusts accommodating/facilitating of CESR applicants via non training jobs or do they expect them to do scut work and just fill in rota.
5-6 years is a perfectly reasonable time. It depends on how motivated you are and how willing you are to be able to switch jobs. There in increased awareness amongst trusts now to provide CESR support - Caveat- you should be prepared to move jobs if you feel your trust is not supportive enough!
Yes- management experience can be shown in a number of ways - 1.attending courses on NHS management run by several organisations ( Oxford,ID Medical etc). 2. If already working in NHS attending management( governance /audit ) meetings showing proof of this by attaching meeting minutes etc 3. If working in private / non NHS suggest a combination of 1. And 2. At organisational level if possible. .
Thanks so much for those invaluable advices. I have one question if you do not mind. Where Can I find forms for those requirments. For example, we do not have feedback forms for teaching sessions.
Hello dr. I have a question about what can I do if I failed the cesr. Because my country's training program is different from UK's and it lacks some small parts. Is there any official route to participate a short time training in UK to meet the criterion?
Dear Mr Kumar, really useful videos. Thank you. 2 questions - if you could answer that, would be grateful. In obtaining MS orthopaedics syllabus, how do we do it? And, I did from JIPMER during 2006; should it be that year’s syllabus?
@@CESR-UK Thank you Mr Kumar. I saw your talk in Orthopedicprinciples. The screen shot you showed in regards to pba and cbd has less then 150 pbas. Is that acceptable?, Is there any minimum number to be submitted in the application. Many Thanks.
Muni Teja - I think you meant the PBA’s for the index procedures perhaps . As I have explained in the talk you need 40 per year which over a six year period would work out to be over 240 assessments
hello sir i completed my dm cardiology from india and now i want to practise in uk as a consultant cardiologist what are the steps. what all documents are required for the same.
Sir, is needed to complete IMRCS to do FRCSortho international?? Another thing.... Is NHS experience mandatory for CESR pathway?? And is it possible to apply CESR living outside UK.?
Md Shohidullah the answer to your first two questions is Yes. Lastly one year experience is legally mandated but three years is recommended. So no application is best done within UK
Thank you sir for ur reply. You have cleared everhghing so far. But a little query in my mind if you dont mind please?? If I complete international FRCS before coming to UK, and if international FRCS will remain recognized for cesr, can i apply for CESR with the international FRCS without appearing in FRCS UK??
hi. interesting videos. I was one of the original creators of the PBA and lead author of the first T&O curriculum. There is material you might find it helpful to include here if you can find a way of getting in touch with me, your video doesn't seem to have any contact details. You can find me through FB or linked In (David Pitts)
Thanks for guidance & video, Actually I have gone through all process & document verification. I have query in few points that 1) they are asking minimum CME POINTS PER YEAR but as of now in INDIA that CME POINT system is not so much build up. SO I COULDN'T FULLFILL THAT CRITERIA FOR GMC CESR APPLICATION ! 2) Audit should be done by whom? can I do audit of my own surgeries as we don't have such system like they have National audit system. I don't have these 2 criteria
You can self certify some CME points for teaching but you need to balance it with CME points given by a reputed organisation . Rough guide is 1 point per hour and so for a day’s course you will get six points roughly. Online webinars may be a good way to get more CME points in this COVID era. Audits have to be clearly done by you and you can audit anything including your own practice. I suggest you read NHS or HEE guidance on audit before starting.
Thank you very much sir for your reply & guidance. I had only 3 year course of post-graduation M.S. in INDIA so do I need to give data OF CME points of my training period also where it was daily learning program !!
Thank you Dr Kumar. these videos are a great help…

Do I need MRCP before applying for dermatology , I have 10 years working experience in NHS

You would have to write to the exam board which conducted the JIPMER final MS Orth exam in your year - 2006.
Is the syllabus shared on the University website enough?
Hi Mr Kumar, how did you manage to provide evidence of PBA progression?, did u obtained them from your previous seniors outside UK. Thabks
Muni Teja - Both in and outside the UK.All my THR and most of TKR’s were in UK only. So all these PBA’s were done in UK only.

Md Shohidullah Yes as long as the rules don’t change this pathway seems currently acceptable but it will depend on whether the rules remain the same.
