I have been looking for this song about 3 years because I don't know how it's called and typed only " Bebe.......camara" Sorry all Brazilian people, I don't speak this amazing language 😂🤣😍 Thanks a lot!
Astrud was meant for this song. This is soooo wild. I listened to this at least four time for the last 4 days and I can't get enough of the tune. I just want to play it over and over. I love it to no end. It is wonderful!!!!!
This might be Brazilian Portuguese but _Agua de beber_ means "drinking water" in Spanish, and it's spelled exactly like that as well (it means the same thing in Brazilian Portuguese too). I also once wrote _atropellado_ , which means "ran over" in Spanish and it turns out that that's how Brazilians also say it and spell it. Weird! Because the languages are day and night when it comes to pronouncing them, they don't sound much alike, except a few words. Both languages are Romance languages and have a Latin root to them.
I was around 7-8 when I heard the likes of Stan Getz, Agua De BeBer... and some others. But man did that sound stick in my body! To this day I still have this Brazilian sound in my list. So nice to lay back and absorb the moment. Beautiful sound that resonates in ones soul, mine! -Thanks!

The song gets me back to the year 2001, when I (Japanese) was working at a Thai restaurant in Sydney. When this song was being played in the restaurant, one of the female staff members (Thai) said, “I could listen to it forever!” The (local Australian) owner of the restaurant agreed, saying “Yeah, I’d like to listen to it forever, too!,” which was exactly what I felt as well! As a matter of fact, none of us understood the Portuguese lyrics, but we all shared the same feelings - an incident that shows how powerful music is across cultural differences! The unique beauty of this song is really admirable. It makes me feel relaxed and enchanted, somehow lost in peace.
She made her singing look so effortless, and demonstrated that you didn't need to be a ham or glam to be good. (Move over, Lady Gaga!) I wish we had singers and music like this today. We sure could use their civility as well as ability. Thanks for posting.
@@kentclark6420 I really don't know if the original was a lip sync, but in this video the uploader used a better (stereo) audio over the original sound track.
A melhor interpretação de ÁGUA DE BEBER. No ponto exato que pede a canção. Lindinha a Astrud. Ligeiramente dentucinha.

I simply cannot get enough of this song. She knows she has it going on and is flirting with the camera. This is an awesome video. I just have to buy her music. Astrud is WOW!!!!! I would love to hear similar tunes as this, if anyone knows about them!
Singing with a perfect tone and no sign of vibrato is not as easy as you might think. It is an art form that is a signature sound for the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim. It is also used for effect with musical instruments. Try it some time and you will be surprised at how much focus it takes.
I believe that Astrud will resurge, if we get the word out for her. This is my favorite song by her and I just love Bossa Nova in general to no end. It is one of the best forms of mood music ever invented. A real compliment to american Jazz. Brazil took Jazz to the next level with Bossa Nova.

Same year as the jazzy-themed Charlie Brown Christmas Special. So, we are probably all just kids at heart, hoping for our math lesson to be over, cuz this music teacher is the coolest!
Rest in peace astrud Gilberto to be honest i didn't get to grow up with her music but I'm so happy and glad that I'm hearing her music now and since now I'm gonna become 34 and I do say that damn she's got A amazing voice that I ever heard for reals
This voice can't be manufactured its a gift of God.
That's how I remember it - still clear, simple, and beautiful.
So simple and classy and yet also very beautiful. Love this performance.
This music was accepted by my young ears around 1964.it blew me away , and does Everytime I hear it.i love Astrud.
Antonio Carlos Jobim did this song a year earlier than this lady did
And that was in 1963
I have been looking for this song about 3 years because I don't know how it's called and typed only " Bebe.......camara" Sorry all Brazilian people, I don't speak this amazing language 😂🤣😍 Thanks a lot!
You can whistle a melody you remember into some music app like Shazam; it can find you the right song just with that small fraction
@@alerey4363 ok!😄😆 thanks for your advice!
If you speak Spanish you can read a good portion of Portuguese and vice-versa.
-Thanks!
Simply great, Astrud's voice is amazing!!!
They remain in full force, beautiful music, thanks Brazil for its beautiful women, music, joy and courtesy always present, cities, rivers and beaches,,,,,,, greetings Jose.

I'm 20 years old and I love music from mid 60's to early 80's.
I've been listening since I was 12 years old. Not my era, but I appreciate it.
The best years of pop music. Never before has so much good music been made at the same time everywhere on the planet
my guitar teacher taught me this song. i love playing it and listening to it. beautiful. it sucks that not that many people appreciate this kind of music anymore!
That was really, really nice. I'm glad I landed on this song.
Yes, glad you checked out a single one of my videos!

Amazing voice, so crystalline and pure. Love this cool jazz sound.
Excellent sound editing job. Thank you for presenting such a clean version that sounds great!
Me encantó el ritmo! Además de su voz encantadora! Enamora a cualquiera! 😘
i've been searching this song for so many years, i love this song so much ❣️
This woman is so beautiful. I"ve loved and admired this lady since my tour in VN in 1966, and that's a long time ago!
You might understand these Astrud lyrics, also on this channel:

For sure,sir!
She made her singing look so effortless, and demonstrated that you didn't need to be a ham or glam to be good. (Move over, Lady Gaga!) I wish we had singers and music like this today. We sure could use their civility as well as ability. Thanks for posting.
Probably a lip sync. But she's still so seductive and shy, and it's a good thing they put the sound into a video format. MTV before there was.
why do you dislike Lady Gaga so much, she's a skilled vocalist as well, just very different. No need to bring her down just because she's recent

R.i.p Astrud ❤️🩹
Rest in peace, Astrud Gilberto. Thank you for all the beautiful singing.
Singing with a perfect tone and no sign of vibrato is not as easy as you might think. It is an art form that is a signature sound for the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim. It is also used for effect with musical instruments. Try it some time and you will be surprised at how much focus it takes.
A minha voz favorita da bossa nova. Descanse em paz, Astrud ❤🖤
I believe that Astrud will resurge, if we get the word out for her. This is my favorite song by her and I just love Bossa Nova in general to no end. It is one of the best forms of mood music ever invented. A real compliment to american Jazz. Brazil took Jazz to the next level with Bossa Nova.
Astrud died recently (: (
Merci beaucoup from Paris France, first class singer. 👍👍👍👍👍
