ขอบคุณมากครับวีดีโอนี้ผมชอบที่สุดเพราะว่าไม่เคยเห็นประโยคดีดีเลย I have been studying Thai for quite some time but this is the first set of sentences I have come across that seem fairly useful and even the sentences that I have heard before I had to take note of because of the way you have presented them all with Corresponding particles. I was also surprised at how many I didn’t actually know and I’m Definitely going to be spending some time studying this lesson again. เก่งจังเลยครับ 👍
Thank you for your comment 😊. I selected Thai phrases that should be useful in everyday use. Although, it's difficult to translate word by word from English to Thai. I try to make them understandable for learners to know what's going on in Thai phrases. I am glad you enjoyed the lesson 😊
Khruu New, I really get a lot out of listening to your videos. This lesson was particularly good. I think that a "phrase" approach to learning a new language is much better than a "word" approach. I have known people that have a large vocabulary in their target language but cannot string words together to express their thoughts. The grammar of a language can give rules about how to put words together but I think that some Thai phrases cannot be explained by grammar. For example, when looking at the individual words in phrase 29. What’s happening เกิดอะไรขึ้น gèrt à-rai kêun, I have wondered how "born-what-up/increase" can translate to "What happened?" I have come to the conclusion that I should not think about the individual words but just remember the meaning of the phrase.
Exactly!! I try to explain words in a phrase when I can. However, sometimes you would have to (just) remember it. The more you listen, the more you use, the more fluent you will be. As Thai and English are so different, thinking as English speakers when you speak Thai, sometimes it doesn't work.😊
I love your videos ! Thank you for making them you are so helpful ,organised and clear to understand. I particularly like your 100 or 80 verbs/nouns/adjectives/phrases series. Looking forward to your next videos. Love from France 🇫🇷
You are awesome. You speak slowly enough and repeat. I love it. I also like that you breakdown the sentences. I will be listening to this video until I have them memorized. Thank you so much.
She’s a great teacher. And I’m glad these are more intermediate phrases. I’m an American actor with Thai heritage who is trying to learn Thai in his older age for acting roles. So kup khun kup!
Hi Kru New. This is an excellent learning video and I still use it every day. Have a suggestion though. If you paused a couple of more seconds between the english and thai that would give us an opportunity to recite the translation, like video flash cards. I agree with Dan N. as well, I think you're on to something here. Using short digestible phrases instead of just vocabulary words or full sentences helps build a stronger foundation in my opinion. There are many excellent UA-cam sources for Thai, more information than I can assimilate, but most of them focus on presenting information rather than on student learning. I appreciate your style of repeating paa-saa-thai 3 times with lots of examples. You don't charge for your videos, but they have good value and will continue to paypal support in proportion to the value I get from them. Thanks again and good luck.
I saw Dan a minute ago. God bless you and keep you. Keep learning you'll get it. I see a lot of good in here, you know. Great news from everyone in here. Thank you, kruu New! I have only one wish--that there would be an agreement to use one standard method to represent Thai sounds using English letters. Even better if it would match some of the most commonly used references. I have done some self-tutoring using the Paiboon materials and rely on their dictionary tools. I am taking a course in my local university and they use a different system. Thaipod101 uses yet another way to represent Thai. I see lesson from you and other great Thai teachers and they are also different. At this point, I truly believe that the best way is to dispense with using English letters entirely and just learn the Thai writing and pronunciation system from the beginning. :) Thanks again for the great material!!
