Lama and Rainmaker are both great reviewers and presenters on their own. When they combine into one video, it’s like the universe fights imploding. Love watching when you two get together for stuff like this. Enjoy Eurobike!
Great to see the collab with you and Rainmaker! The internet just brings great people into our worlds who educate and entertain us. Thanks to you both, have a great time!
I am using the Zwift trainer (Jet Black) and love it. If I had to replace it, I would not hesitate to stay in the Jet Black family. If they would come out with a motion version of this new trainer it would be an even bigger impact.
Thanks for the coverage! That Square isn't the prettiest thing but it is striking and addresses the misgivings I've heard about the Zwift Ride. But 2025 is a long way away.
One thing that didn't get mentioned is that while the Jetblack trainer comes stock with a hub system that's only compatible with Zwift, you can take that off and put your own cassette on it and use it with any training platform. That's a huge win in my book since a lot of us have left Zwift due to their price increase. I'm currently using Rouvy and love it more than I ever liked Zwift.
Thanks for the wrap up Shane. Oh my, its crazy how Elite have nailed all the features I think are needed for the ultimate smart bike - agnostic virtual shifting, good looking integrated shifters, belt drive system....and then they went and let a 2 year old design the frame. This thing is offensively ugly and despite having all the features I'd be looking for, I wouldn't even consider it. This is a home trainer after all. Even the new Zwift frame is something only a mother could love. If someone can put all these features into an aesthetically pleasing design (currently, I think Wattbike hold the crown as the sleekest smart bike design) then we have a winner!
I think all these smart frame manufacturers are missing a big trick, for those of us that do not have a dedicated garage / room for training a smart frame that folded up into the footprint of the trainer and easily opened up into it's training format without having to pull the whole setup apart, think of a kids fold up stroller and apply that to the smart frame. Just think of the ease of storage for apartment livers or people with limited storage space!! Now a smart frame like this would convince me to buy it over the bulky dedicated bike frame I currently use. just replacing that bike with a similarly bulky (non-smart in my opinion) frame has no attraction whatsoever.
If they didn’t make the Kicker V 5 so damn 💣 proof I might be in the market for a new trainer. My Kicker has 10000 miles and is still as good as the day I bought it.
Whenever a trainer has WiFi I’d like to know if it can support 5/6GHz as many of us have expunged 2.4GHz WiFi routers to free that band up for our BLE devices. I’m guessing “not” but it would be nice…
@@gplama Kind of assumed that. Most of the embedded WiFi options have only done 2.4GHz so far. I've used the Nordic 7002 WiFi controller to do 5GHz stuff at the ol day job, hopefully parts like that will start showing up in trainers over time. It kind of sucks to have spent a bunch of time eradicating 2.4GHz to help the BLE devices out only to have the trainer itself kind of revert that.
@@gplama Thanks for your quick response. I hope this is still coming for the v4 it is only a software modification I think. I would love to start training with the Cog.
I’m not sure on their plans. Garmin/Tacx are moving VERY slowly on all fronts. The 3M is priced so high (and lacking a few features) it that it’s no longer in the “what trainer should I buy” conversation, anywhere. I hope in the near future they get back to being a contender, they made some great gear in the past.
You're right about Garmin/Tacx. It's a conversation I've had with them here too. I hope to see them re-enter the conversation with something new... soon!
Can they still sell a $1200 trainer? I mean if I spent that much I would buy the zwift bike. I would think most people still have one they are a hard sell, for Elite to come out with a new one. I got a H3 at $450 and that should last me so long, and it was the right price
I’ve just seen a statement from wahoo that they won’t be releasing virtual shifting for v5 and previous models. This is a huge blow after for months they were saying that the update was coming and now they suddenly decided not to do it, probably just to drive sales of new models and probably the Zwift bike. Very disappointed as a 10+yr customer of wahoo who basically purchased all their products multiple times. Do you have more info, will you be doing a video for this? Thx
Johnny, there difference is due to local taxes and also different distribution models in different regions. We want to offer the best possible value to Zwifters as we can in each market but also need to make sure that we have the correct cost structure for sustainable support which is very important for us at JetBlack.
Jet Black Victory, you have my attention!!
I have both a Neo 3M and a JetBlack Volt 2 and I prefer the feel of the JetBlack (by a distance). I'm sure this new "Victory" will be great!
Lama and Rainmaker are both great reviewers and presenters on their own. When they combine into one video, it’s like the universe fights imploding. Love watching when you two get together for stuff like this. Enjoy Eurobike!
Always a hoot when you reviewers "run" into each other! Shane, DC & Des, the best!
Jet Black chose violence, and I approve
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jet Back, Jet Back, Jet back to Lama lab. Who doesn't love Beatles and Cycling - Great first day report Thanks
Great to see the collab with you and Rainmaker!
The internet just brings great people into our worlds who educate and entertain us.

Big Victory for the Jet Black Victory
I am using the Zwift trainer (Jet Black) and love it. If I had to replace it, I would not hesitate to stay in the Jet Black family. If they would come out with a motion version of this new trainer it would be an even bigger impact.
Shawn, watch this space...dreams do come true
Quality! Jet Black, kudos.
Loving the new Jet Black Victory smart trainer! 🧡🖤🧡
Have fun Shane! Say hi to Ray from us all!!
cameo we did not expect
The ram's head or Ray?
Jet black still delivering a nice price. I'm liking that little roller trainer
Always nice to see you guys together.
The 2 biggest tech analyst superstars together on scientific basis, a great beautiful moment!
This exhibition is truly exceptional, showcasing a wide variety of innovative products.
🤩🤩
this is actually a very infomative great channel
Looking forward to the Jetblack review! Together with the Zwift Ride frame, must be good
Stay tuned! 👌🏼
Love to see you in my city :)
Oh wow.. Lama and DC on the same video….. 🙌🏾
Welcome to Frankfurt near to my home town 🤩
was concerned about the lack of DCR at the start, I thought the Bromance had ended! Good to see you talking on the fly at the end, great insights!
Those new Elite and Cycplus trainers look like rectangular game consoles and the smart bike is literally a square! 😂
4:54 I must try this with my road bike.
Thanks for the coverage! That Square isn't the prettiest thing but it is striking and addresses the misgivings I've heard about the Zwift Ride. But 2025 is a long way away.
The Elite Clotheshorse is interesting considering Italians normally get styling right.
🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤣
I have a KickR 2016 and I think I haven’t used it for three years 🤔
Got some new winter bib and jacket.
Getting strong cinema projector vibes from the new Elite form factor. The price point of the Victory is 100% an attention grabber
So jet black went with the saying don’t be bitter,be better
Such a bromamce. I’m sure they were holding hands at one point
I'll get a wider lens next time so we can stand further apart. 🤣
Love seeing Llama & Rainmaker together. But like Christmas, is seems to happen just once per year - at this show! Or am I missing other events?
Thanks that i dont need to go to Eurobike to see new stuff :) I stay loyal to GPLama and not switch to that DC man.
Watch all the content! 👌🏼

Yes, Zwift Cog is on standard Shimano free hub so can easily be replaced with standard cassette

have to disagree, the watt bike is ugly, the Zwift Ride is the best looking smart bike on the market.
Great as always Shane, thx! But nothing new like virtual shifting from Tacx? They are going to lose their marketshare.
Nothing. And yes, I agree. They’ll need to do something soon. They’ve priced themselves out of the conversation about which new trainer to buy.
That Jet Black looks like MAGENE T200
That Elite bike looks like an average DIYer would weld in his garage 🧐
I think all these smart frame manufacturers are missing a big trick, for those of us that do not have a dedicated garage / room for training a smart frame that folded up into the footprint of the trainer and easily opened up into it's training format without having to pull the whole setup apart, think of a kids fold up stroller and apply that to the smart frame. Time for wahoo to push race mode to the kicker core
Will the victory with the hub work with MyWhoosh?
Yes, but you will need to replace the Zwift Cog with a standard cassette.
I don't know how i feel about that Elite smart bike. Not very pretty, but likely effective
The complexity of having a belt is apparent when seeing it in person.
Oh shit great guest DC Rainmaker is his name right??
My original kickr is getting a bit long in the tooth. There's no way I'm spending over $1500 CDN for a new kickr or neo.
Whenever a trainer has WiFi I’d like to know if it can support 5/6GHz as many of us have expunged 2.4GHz WiFi routers to free that band up for our BLE devices. I’m guessing “not” but it would be nice…
Pretty much all 2.4GHz at this point. I'll ping JetBlack on this during the week.

He shane do you allready have some news about the zwift cog and the wahoo kickr v4?
Nothing yet on the status of this coming to the V4 or V5.
@@gplama Thanks for your quick response. I hope this is still coming for the v4 it is only a software modification I think. I would love to start training with the Cog.
If the pricing is not a race to the bottom, only thing to conclude is we have actually been overpaying for trainers for years 😅
Great review so far. Any hint that Tacx might open their app to other indoor trainers? Coming from a very satisfied Jetblack Volt user.

Did I miss the details on the Zwift Cog v2?
More coming soon… when I get one. (Or swipe one from a trainer here at Eurobike 😂)
This is nice and all BUT WHERE'S THE LATEST GARMIN FIRMWARE UPDATE VID???
I'll dig into that when I return back to Australia. Apparently the gradient reporting is a LOT better on the x40 series.
399 USD and 449 EUR, I mean, what the hell. Last time I checked, euro was stronger currency.
US Pricing usually excludes VAT and taxes. Euro and UK pricing includes these.
Zwift and Wahoo with their goal to make everything incompatible again can kiss my glutes.
Tacx being left behind in a big way... I was hoping for "gear feel" with the zwift cog....
You're right about Garmin/Tacx. It's a conversation I've had with them here too. I hope to see them re-enter the conversation with something new... soon!
@@gplama I just want the Zwift hub to work on the original neo! 🤣🤣🤣
I think that might be a wish too far!
Enjoy Eurobike. Love your stuff!
Bobby would have been a surprise. But not Ray.

People still buy slow Lightweight wheelsets for 10k so yes😂
That texture on Elite trainers flywheels makes it very annoying to clean.
You hit the one week of really bad weather this "summer" in Germany
Sure did!
Totally. But you don’t need a boat. Yet.
Is this ironic or not? :D
This spring and summer in Belgium have been absolute trash! Four days too hot 32°C, all the rest just constant rain...
It's Germany. There has to be rain somewhere. The good thing this is July and not March.
He has brought Aussie winter with him
And again, kind of a rip-off for the EU-555 USD (499 EUR), and delivery costs an extra 20 USD. I don't get it.
DC Rain Lenser 😂

Crazy markup for Europeans on the JetBlack? 399USD is 369EUR but the EU price is 499EUR. That's a casual 35% premium :o
Taxes.
Why the Omnium comment? Is there a hidden joke or reference I am missing?
It’s always on show. Always. (And it’s a great product!)
399 usd equates to 370 euro, they need to sort their pricing out.

Jet black can't even make their own training app, even elite can do that. Does anybody giving them so much credit have a jet-black trainer?
That's not rain, is the Hawk Tuah girl around?..😭
To much talking 🤷♂️
Did you want me to do these in interpretive dance?
