We planted peppers this year and we have more than we know what to do with!
Quick addition to the recipe. My mom said when the jelly is ready to be canned, or you think it is, get a cold saucer and place a drop of jelly on the saucer. If it stacks up when you push your finger through, it's ready. If it runs all over the place then it still needs a little time.
Ps: I made this and while I was stirring, my eyes started hurting. I had accidently left my contacts in and couldn't take them out since I had been handling habeneros, banana peppers and jalapeños. So I had my husband take the contacts out of my eyes. I've never seen him so grossed out. Lol

This is a really tasty recipe. I've made 2 batches so far. My first, didn't jelly up enough, however it made a wonder sauce... my second batch turned to jelly. This is good stuff right here. I brought the stuff that didn't quite set up to a family cook out... my dad and papaw canned all through my life... they loved it poured over chicken and steaks and burgers. So don't be disappointed if you don't quite get it to jelly up... it makes a wonderful steak sauce. Thus was my first time... now my second time... so I have habanero sauce and habanero jelly. It's all great. So don't be disappointed if it it doesn't quite jelly. It's a fantastic topping if you like hot and spicy stuff. . I clicked the like and notification bell.. Good stuff brother.

👋 Hey Keith, thanks for sharing your experience with our recipe! 🌶️ It's good to know that it can still be enjoyed as a sauce even if it doesn't quite jelly up. 🍖 You're right, it's a fantastic topping for hot and spicy stuff like steaks and burgers. Enjoy your habanero sauce and jelly! 🌶️🔥 Thanks for the support, our notification squad appreciates it! 🙏

If you are new to canning, a good tip is to write your dates on the jars (even on a piece of masking tape) so you know when they were made.
Incase they get mixed in with other batches, you can easily determine which ones you want to use first.

If you add 1 tbs butter when making your jelly it will help reduce the foam

If someone’s planning to can the jelly, they shouldn’t add butter…

You have 5 cups of sugar twice. Is it 5 or 10?? We're going to make some of this with our garden habaneros this afternoon:)

Why are you chopping but then put everything in blender ??? 🫢

🌱👋Hi josiewinsor4972! Thanks for your comment 😊 The reason I chop up the vegetables before putting them in the blender is to make it easier for the blender to puree them. It's also a good practice to cut them evenly to ensure they blend evenly. Hope this helps! 🙌🥕🥦🍅
