Are you sure you are running the custom build of Windows for the Teams Room system? The NUC must have come as part of a TAP kit for this to function. Otherwise it will just appear as a monitor.
I agree with Polycom MSR to many cables to the touch panel at the table but Poly with Trio is also single cable solution talking from Trio or TC8 at the table via network to for example Visual+, VisualPro or the new Teams Collaboration Bar X30 and X50 with even besides less cables also less hardware...btw you are using the right headset.. :-)
You wouldn't happen to be a Poly employee would you ;) Cheekyness aside I'm very interested to see where the x30 and X50 go. Especially if when paired with the trio they can emulate that one touch experience (I'm not a fan of the touch pad interface) Unfortunately. Trio in any of its current forms is not a single cable solution as neither the 8800 or 8500 can do video in teams native mode (even with the visual plus / gs500 in pro mode) They can however use RealConnect for Office365 to get pretty darn close. I should be clear TAP isn't a single cable solution. It's needs power as well as USB. Where Trio shines with PoE
Does the HDMI Ingest on the Tap also allow the user to use the camera and microphone, as well as the speakers? For example to have a cisco meetings in an MTR system? Or is it just display and audio?
Great post! Many thanks. Question: what app gets installed in the NUC? We're planning a migration from Zoom Rooms to Teams Rooms. We'd like to re-purpose our Logitech Group (speakerphone and camera) also. So, we'll just need a Tap and a NUC (or boot the current Mac Mini used by Zoom Rooms to Windows.
The long and short of it is, you need to use the included NUC. It runs a special build of Win10 that's been set up for an MTR. This comes as an Image. If you look on the Windows Store you can find the app, but it does look for specific stuff both hardware wise and in the software image and won't activate. Speak with your Logi partner and they will likely offer a pack. If you get the one with the c930 or the Brio you can use these as content cameras and use your group as a room camera.
@@joelrubio1972 Unfortunately no, the App looks for special things in the software build as well as particular hardware ID's when installing. MTR's are designed to work with specific certified hardware. I suppose if your using certified gear and your nuc is exactly the same, you might be able to get a software image from your vendor. But unlikely.
Hola estoy tratando de restablecer de fabrica un tap scheduler logitech , pero no he podido , está siendo un dolor de cabeza 😢, podría realizar un vídeo al respecto 😅...
super late to seeing this but does anyone know how Tap can interface with environmental controls and/or other devices? They mention it in one of their promo videos, but their website makes me break out in hives. Couldn't find information on it. relying on CEC, in my opinion, is not a professional solution.
great video, thanks! I see that I can share my laptop video and audio via HDMI cable connected to the tab.. If I am offline with audience in the same room, can I also connect a usb microphone to the tap and hear my voice amplified through the logitech speakers? or simply amplfy the audio captured from the logitech mic?
Not officially. However if you used an audio muxing program from your laptop to send the microphone input to the HDMI soundcard output. Your biggest concern here though to going to be echo and reverb.
Any Teams room system should do this. As long as your display supports HDMI-CEC. Personally I look towards more commercial displays as their designed to run for longer than your standard run of the mill TV at home.
I have tried to setup same as what you have shown on this video. My Tap is showing Teams same as what you would see on a Laptop/Desktop - not the nice graphical view as in your video - where am i going wrong? I have the teams room licenses installed too.
It sounds like the NUC is missing the Rigel software. Contact your OEM for a software image for the nuc. If you have bought just a TAP display and not the whole kit you will need to purchase a NUC with a Teams image on it from your vendor.

Question, does the unit need to be hooked up to a screen ? can it be configured to self functionning as camera and a microphone to for microsoft team ?
From what I understand there are now cat6 solutions for the desk pad using the Logi Tap IP www.logitech.com/en-gb/products/video-conferencing/room-solutions/tap-ip.952-000088.html
There are a few things that can affect this, lighting is a massive one. But also ensure you don't have any bandwidth policies set in Teams. Unfortunately, I'm full WFH these days and don't have Logi any gear to test with anymore.
If you are using this as a Teams Room System, yes. The Microsoft Teams Meeting Room licence will be required. You should also setup the account correctly to enable all the features in exchange. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/with-office-365?tabs=m365-admin-center%2Cazure-active-directory2-password%2Cactive-directory2-license If you want the meeting room to be able to make PSTN calls, you will need to also add some method for calling like a Microsoft Calling license
Not that I'm aware of. But they do have managed services now. So if you need your system to stay online. MS have engineers that will look after the rooms for you (for a fee)
I'd also be very interested in that. We already have a NUC, but not a "preconfigured" one by Logitech... So I am wondering what I'd need to install there?
Officially, no. but if you search using your favorite search engine, you can find ways to install the custom software for lab purposes from Jeroen Burgerhout. Note you will need a legitimate copy of Windows 10 Enterprise to make this work so not sure how you could deploy that to production without breaking your license agreement.
Thanks for your video, our hardware and setup are similiar to yours, but when I started NUC, the tap is on and changed to the extend monitor of NUC

Goddamn, looking for a video conference system for my workplace and I come upon this vid, nice stickers lol
Well, if ya know, ya know...
How does it work to connect to other services lie Webex, Zoom, Hangouts or similar? Great demo!
Some MTRs are Compatible with other services. ALso, check Teams Cloud Video Interop with pexip or bluejeans. That'll help.
Poly RealConnect is also an option.
All Teams Rooms For Windows (previously MTR's) support Cisco and Zoom today (they kick off the webclient for you)
Does the HDMI Ingest on the Tap also allow the user to use the camera and microphone, as well as the speakers? For example to have a cisco meetings in an MTR system? Or is it just display and audio?
Thanks for a Great overview.

Sadly, the sticker couldn't be transferred to my new laptop and TBH, I'm not paying their insane shipping just for another sticker.

Hi that was great one. Could you please tell me if we can connect without the Ethernet network cable by using Wifi while setting up ? Thanks again.
I wouldn't recommend using Wifi for a meeting room device period.
Can the Tap Wake / Sleep the display when in use / ending session? If so, what display would you recommend?
Any Teams room system should do this. As long as your display supports HDMI-CEC.
Personally I look towards more commercial displays as their designed to run for longer than your standard run of the mill TV at home.
great... how long does it take Logitech tap to power ON (display ON) ? I tried it and it took about 1 hour, is it normal?
Not normal in the slightest. Mine came up considerably quicker than that. Reach out to logi and re-image the device.
