The 7 letters are definitely freedom, which is another thing he is searching for on this album. The whole album is all about everything he’s searching for at this point of life.
When you listen to the song, the line definitely doesn’t go as “if I let you go and find let me go” like some are saying 😂 the answer can only be freedom haha

I was just about to comment this, I've always thought the seven letters were freedom. That's what the entire NF Search is about, gaining freedom from himself and his past traumas, (he's his own worst enemy).

I sometimes think people don’t realize how deep this song is.
“THEY promised protection, I don’t feel protected” again his emotions and voices in his head saying to stay in his safe room because it’s safer there. Mansion.
“Aim at your direction, shoot at my reflection, shatter my perception” he’s shooting at the voices/emotions in his head but ultimately he is just shooting at himself. Shattering his perception. Shattering the mirror. Shattering his reflection.
It's even deeper in that his 3rd album is called perception...

I think "seven letters" might refer to the book of revelation in the the Bible, the end of the age when God judges, and restores everything that's redeemed. NF is looking for that final rescue. Revelation contains seven letters from Jesus to seven churches that existed at that time.
If you check out the lyrics right before the seven letters line, I think the Revelation reference makes great sense.

He recently did an interview with a hip hop channel where he revealed the seven letters to be: FREEDOM. Freedom from the pain, from the thoughts in his head, and freedom from the struggles.
That was all he said, but it led others to think this was him contemplating freedom through suicide, which is why he’s searching for hope in other songs.

I have listened to this song many times. I appreciate that you had the lyrics up because I never truly picked up on all of them. The line, "I pray to God to ask if hope's real," really got to me. As some one who grew up in a Christian household, but now holds other beliefs... and as someone dealing with depression... this line just hit me different.
Been binging on your reactions and am subscribed and enjoying your ongoing "Joureny". The thing about following the NF Journey is that you can get stuck trying to piece together lines that you don't fully appreciate what you're hearing.
Let Me Go wasn't one of my favorites until I just listened to it as it's own song. Now, it's in my top 15 NF songs. (Yes, that's a tough list to do)

I have worked with suicidal people and I can tell you that the 7 lettered word is suicide, not freedom....even though they are both used in the same context, in this gorgeous song. He even lists every single way one can do it...knife, gun, poison, drowning, etc.....I do not believe in coincidences...this song screams suicide. He has mentioned it in other songs s well. Wonders if he will find Heaven or will he find Hell if he lets go and finds the seven letters...another lyric. The majority of people do not catch this.

But if you replace seven letters with Suicide in the song it doesn't make sense. If i let you go and find suicide??? why would he want to FIND suicide? As a person with OCD it describes exactly what it feels like to deal with it. Obsessive thoughts telling you its never good enough....being a perfectionist. "You just want perfection i need you to let me go." Its like your being held captive by ur thoughts and finding the freedom from that is what every person with OCD wants. This is how i see it anyway. Everyone has their own interpretations and thats the best part about music imo

This is my absolute favorite song in this album. It speaks to me on so many levels and hits me in ways I can't even explain. This is the epitome of the perfect song to me.
