I found NF because of “The Search” and its boom on Tik Tok. For a while that was the only NF song I had ever heard. One day I woke up and said, let’s hear more of him. Mansion, Therapy Session, Perception, The Search, Clouds, Hope. What a Journey

The theory about this being about Lecrae does kinda make sense. Nate has always been the same person, he's just grown more into himself whereas Lecrae hasn't been a good representation of himself or his faith. I didnt know they were signed to the same record label or that Lecrae has said some things not so positive about Nate before.
Either way, whoever this song is about you know they knew exactly that it was about them as soon as they heard it and Nate didnt even have to say their name.
I also really love that he didnt finish his sentence at the end of the song and the way the music only plays out of one speaker/headphone is genius.
When someone in a comment section said this was about a Lecrae, the 12 features on a song suddenly made sense. The 116 crew have done lots of songs with loads of features.
I originally thought it was about Lecrae but someone else said that it's about Token, so I'm not completely sure.
Lecrae is president of reach records. Fits the “my fate in my own hands, hand it over to you no chance”

A lot of people saying this is about an other Capital artist Lecrae. Just heard the line “I’m in the lead role and you’re in the background “. And “Background “ is one of his songs. So it’s looking more like a possibility
“Happy To Be Here” is what’s being said in the tones starting the beat. I didn’t catch that on my first listen but it’s awesome. Everytime you listen to NF you catch something new each time.

So NF used to be signed to Capitol CMG. There is a group also signed called the social club misfits. Marty did a song with 7 features I think it was. Which NF was one of them. So that's the 12 feat reference. Additionally some of the lines are probably directed at Lecrae who has made comments about NF in the past that weren't dissing, but wasn't supportive either. I discovered NF when he started through the CHH "box" that NF had removed himself from. Can't wait for his show in Minneapolis!!! Love you guys so much! Kyle's emotions and mine are too scary Similar and I LOVE it. Don't stop doing what you do!!!!

The song is a shot @ Lecrae. NF has done songs with 116/Reach Records artists and I’m sure there was talk bout him touring with the label but he clearly never did. And I’m sure now that NF is huge Lecrae wanted him to tour with him now. But we may never really know who the song is about.
