if your dtr is a daily then I wouldnt recomend doing stuff like this. Its REALLY unreliable. If you want to get more power and not brake your bike in less than a month then you should buy a full exhaust and desristric the bike and maybe if really needed a bigger carburator.

Vetko's Garage thanks don’t know enough yet (only 16) but I’m looking to get a 200wr with ported case and modified to fit wr crankshaft with a mvt digital direct ignition (internal rotor) 38mm mikuni and yz vforce 3 reeds ans home made exhaust (oxy acetylene welded 1mm steel) doing it on a 2nd engine i got with the bike so i still have a reliable one😂
@@louisdavies2746 those types of mods I would only do on a 2stroke, because its cheap, easy and more powerfull. I have seen many problems when doing those mods, such as overheating, low millage breaking, it is a real headache. But who am I to judge.
Custom crank? I always thought the Lanza crank could be made to fit. I just had a 3XP cylinder machined to fit an SDR200 project. My engine builder ran the port timings through his software and highlighted the Reed cage was the limiting factor. The head has been machined for more squish and better compression though, and I’m running a 34 mm Lectron with it. We’ll see what the dyno gives early December but I’m hoping 37-39 at the wheel.
Hi! Is this crank or wheel hp? I only got 27,6 wheel horsepower with no corrections from my 68mm 207cc 3xp. It has a ktm exc 250 pipe and I think that is the limiting factor. 37mm carburetor, honda cr250 vforce 3, programmable ignition, custom head etc.

That DT is a monster! I own a DT200r 3ET/2YY here in Canada and I cant find a aftermarket exhaust if my life depended on it, its 66.50 bore and i have done alot of work to it, not modified anything really just new bearings seals a rebore and I bought a wr200 fmf fatty, I just have to heat it up and bend it at the back and shoehorn it a bit to fit it, what reeds do you recommend? And would a dtr pipe choke up a 200r or would it be better then the stock pipe?
Hi. As far as I understand, that engine's cases where modified in order to accommodate a larger Blaster 200 crank, which is essentially the same you have on your DT. What barrel they are using I have no idea, but getting original Dt200r parts in Portugal from where BA Racing is, should be next to impossible since they where sadly never marketed there. Pipe wise, folks use a custom exhaust from a local tuner. Original stock pipes from Yamaha are restricted inside, meaning you'll need to cut it open and remove the inner baffle, which helps some. A true sports exhaust however, Force intake and bigger carb also helps breathing. If you want to go crazy, a programmable CDI allows to adjust the Ignition timing and removes the rpm limitation but also decreases engine life. Keep in mind stock bearings in your engine are not supposed to spin faster than a certain rpm, but that is also good reason to update them to more capable bearings.
