It's closer to Footwork (related to Ghetto Tech, Hip-Hop, Jungle and Drum and Bass). Stripped back beats in a syncopated rhythm that has a minimalist aesthetic that focuses attention to the beat, then offsets itself with the melodic part of the track. The melodic part would also fit more into the genre of liquid drum and bass as well, as its tempo, loop based structure and overall vibe fits into the category like a glove! It's a perfect example of genre overlap. A lot more tunes in anime are coming out in the 165-174 bpm range. And that makes me hope for more people to discover Drum and Bass, Jungle and everything related to it to expand their horizons. I mean... hip hop at 85-87 can just double-time the beat, keep the vocal flow the exact same as well as the melody and it transforms into a completely different genre! Great reaction, guys!
