Thank you captain for creating such an educational video tutorial series! Love it ♥ Are you maybe in contact with Asobo / Hans H. to improve the simulator ATR to closer match the real aircraft?
Hi Cap! I am studying as a B1 engineer under EASA and I found ya via one of our instructors! Your service and time put into those videos is truly appreciated! One unrelated question, what is the ICAO code of the outro airport :) ?
I have two little questions capt. 1) With the "FD MODE CHG" alert on FMA, does the triple click reversion aural only sound while on the ground but not while on flight. 2) I've seen some videos during short final like on 100 to 200 ft RA, "FD MODE CHG" alert shown on the FMA which i suspect triggered by reversion to ROLL HOLD and PITCH HOLD, but with no triple click aural. After 7 seconds flashing, the message become steady without box. Then shortly after nose touch and propeller already on LO PITCH, triple click is heard but i see no flashing on FMA which indicates no new message, right? My suspicion is it was triggered by "SPD AUTO FAIL" which also trigger triple click aural as shown in this video. Then come the question, does the visual alert for SPD AUTO FAIL is suppresed when FD MODE CHG alert is being displayed on the FMA and then only aural warning generated?
Good Morning Cte. May I ask you two question in the same time. Why in ATR 72-500 is not allow take off in LNAV Mode (Just HDG Mode). And why cat II is prohibited? Thanks
Hi. For ATR aircraft with EFIS cockpit, the standard procedure is to take off with HDG mode. NAV mode (VOR or LNAV) can be activated when you are airborne. I have not flown ATR with EFIS cockpit since 2015, so I am not sure about the reason why the AFCS is made this way. Maybe the AFCS is not designed to accept arming of the NAV mode... All ATR aircraft can fly ILS Cat II. The requirement is that the company, the aircraft and the pilots are certified to do so.
Hi Captain, white F means minimum flap retraction speed when you have F30, and if this F spped is greater than Vapp, in case of a go around, we retract the flaps before reaching this F speed, since the call out is "Go around, set power, flap 15", am I missing something here? Thanks as always, regards
The white F means flaps retraction speed when you have flaps 15. The go-around speed with flaps 15 (25 for ATR 42) is the green bug. When initiating the go-around, the call is "Set power, flaps one notch." We fly with flaps 15/25 at green bug speed until reaching acceleration altitude.
Hello, Can you make also a video about this topic for the ATR-72-500, please? Flight1 has a good addon of the ATR 72-500. I am not sure, but I red that it is the same developer who developed the ATR-72-600.
Good morning Captain,Have a safe flight ✈️ ❤

Do you mean Male Airport? It is VRMM.

Isn’t it for FSX?
Microsoft/Asobo one is pretty good.
