The Jade Golem animation changes when you reach a 20-20. It makes that huge one that slashes through a tower, changes the sound and has a slightly more intense animation. Pulled it off once thanks to Fandral and Auctioneer but I also felt super dirty afterwards.

At the VERY least they need to make Jade Idol shuffle three cards that JUST say "summon a jade golem", that's still extremely powerful and probably still too damn strong in control
what if to fix jade they changed the mechanic to "summon a jade golem +1/+1 larger than the last jade golem that died", which would allow counterplay to not kill medium size jades and make them not grow so oppressively, or you could polymorph/devolve/etc to slow the cycle too
The only way I can see jades being counterable would be if the power bonus they get for each successive jade wasn't an upgraded card, but rather the same card that keeps getting buffed (meaning the numbers would be green and counterable.) This mechanic is seen in the Naxxramas adventure as Noth's skeletons do this. (Summon a skeleton, and each skeleton gets stronger) This would make jades counterable via silence effects.

two possible changes could be made to counter jade decks. First card is a minion with the effect: stealth, destroy any minion with attack equal to its defense. Second change is to Jade Idol: 2 mana, summon a jade golem OR add three copies of this card to your deck that cost four more mana.(this will mean that the copies cost 6 mana, and the copies from those will cost 10 mana. this will stop the infinite combo aspect)
The first Jade card you play is under-powered, you "break even" in strength by the third card, and after the fourth card you can say that you've also compensated for the lost tempo of your first Jade card being under-powered. Once you see a 5/5 Jade Golem hit the table, the Jade deck is abstractly ahead and will begin pulling ahead after that more and more (assuming both decks are otherwise of equal strength aside from Jade cards vs alternatives). Another way to say the same thing is that if all Jade Golems were just 2/2 minions, Jade cards would have "correct" mana costs. You sort of break even with a 1/1, 2/2, and 3/3. But that's actually a but weaker than a trio of 2/2s, and you get the 3/3 late. The 4/4 is a strong play, but you are behind in tempo so you need it to be strong. If Jade Golems capped out in size at 4/4, they'd still be very strong cards. Every Jade card you'd play after the first four Jade cards is coming in with +2/+2 in stats over other cards, with a 4/4 cap in place. In fact even with a golem size cap of 3/3, Jade cards would still build value in the long game beyond their mana cost. You'd catch up in tempo maybe by the sixth golem instead of the fifth, and every golem after that would just be +1/+1 in stats beyond card cost. One solution that keeps the infinite scaling without being bjorken -- scale at 1/1, 1/2, 2/2, 2/3, 3/3, 3/4, 4/4, 4/5, 5/5, etc etc, or similarly. Maybe only buff the size +1/+1 every other time instead of every time. The first two golems are under-powered. Strength equalizes on the fifth golem instead of the third. Tempo equalizes roughly on the seventh golem, which is only a 4/4. Even Druid in end-game spamming out golems could not automatically dominate the board, not without setting up an Auctioneer machine. It would be possible for a control deck with a handful of their better cards to hold that at bay for a long time, and maybe get a lot of 2 for 1 minion trades before it finally got out of hand. Jade Idol is a busted card. With 1-2 Auctioneers and 1-2 Jade Idols in your deck, you can very quickly spawn an army of Jade Golems without putting any other Jade cards in the deck. You can run 1 copy of Jade Idol in a non-Jade deck just to become immune to fatigue, and you start spawning a Jade Golem army as well instead of fatiguing out. The 1 mana cost allows you to quickly tempo into larger golems, getting to the 4/4 (equality) as early as turn 4 without any trouble if you draw the right cards. Aya is a busted card, although less so. The problem is that it takes only 4 golems to reach equality, so she plays not only like 3 bodies but also like a card draw into a Jade card. It's just a bit much. That low a cost for 3 minions, that also buffs cards in your hand/deck, that is repeatable to turn non-Jade cards into mock-Jade cards (Rogue bounces her and replays her for cheap; Shaman reincarnates her; all 3 Jade classes can run Brann and can bounce her with neutral minions)... it's just too potent for as cheap as they made her, she has an almost aggro deck costing out of Druid thanks to Innervate. I think I would prefer this scaling honestly -- 1/1, 1/1, 2/2, 2/2, 3/3, 3/3, then cap at 4/4.

I've played this modified mid range jade shaman deck with evolves and a devolve for a while now and I've found it really nice. I'ts a good counter to aggro with maelstrom portals and waterspeakers, along with golems and brann combinations that can run over a lot of control decks. I've found this to be a lot of fun especially with the evolves, which also serve to help outpace other midrange shamans, and I think you guys should look into building this type of deck, I feel it is the better and less cancerous precursor to the eventual jade gangbang that will likely follow. It is also very successful, I'll admit I'm fairly casual and could rank a lot higher if I played more, but my record with my version is around 36-7 and I've got up to I think rank 11, but it can be a legend deck easily.
I kinda wanna try making a wild mode deck with Jade golems, and exactly 6 deathrattle minions for n'zoth to revive ( your 4/4 enemy draw on death, 2/8 pull minion from enemy deck and maybe sludge belcher + aya blackpaw ). I have seen an interesting rogue mill variant that used n'zoth. I feel like it might work in this case.
The next artwork for the Jade Golem is when it gets to a 20 / 20. Not sure if it goes on after that, but the friend I was playing with died too soon for us to find out.
The counters to Jade are Aggro, maybe a faster Midrange, a well drawn Combo deck, or something that can just vomit something stupid on the board before the Jades are too big, like buffed or evolved Doppelgangsters.
Kripp gets SO lucky too you know. That double draw into two lightning bolts, like comon. He can moan and groan all he wants but he gets equally, or most often more lucky than his opponents.
I think a decent fix (for jade druid atleast) might be that you change Jade Idol from adding 3 copies to adding 3 1-cost spells that only have the option to produce a golem. Doesn't destroy the synergy of the deck but means they do have a finite end, strong against control instead of unbeatable.
What if they just stopped growing after 5/5? For example, if you already have a 5/5 jade on the board any jade card you play from that point on just gives you more 5/5s. That makes more sense and is still pretty strong.

Honestly There are only two changes I can think of , (that would need to happen at the same time no less) that could realistically fix the "Jade" problem for everyone who plays this game. 1. Pull a page out of Konami's YU-GI-OH handbook and rise the rarity of All the Jade Card's by one tier. In order to save the majority of casual and arena players from it's tyranny on the meta. + 2.(A two piece change)(A:) Make it so that Jade Golem's can never go past (6 / 6) in stats when summoned. + (B:) Make Jade Idol Un-shuffle-able beyond the summoning of Jade Golem 4. To help slow down constructed and make it possible to fatigue a druid. This is what I would do but don't get me wrong on this , I think rising card rarity (in any T.C.G.) should only ever be done , and I repeat ONLY EVER BE DONE AS A LAST RESORT.
6-6 Is way too low, it would kill the mechanic. But i'd say make the mana go up after 10, that way sap and vanish are strong removal past the 10 mana mark. The rarity is not a solution, it's just mean to new player. the Konami's book is probably the worst to ever read from in that regards xD

I have been playing midrange Jade Shaman withouth 4 mana 7/7, totem golem, lava burst or even lightining bolt since MSOG came out. The only direct damage spell I have is Jade lightning. So this type of decks are not creeping, ofc u see more of them, but they were pretty good still before the nerfs.
Only control decks that seem to work these days apart from Jade itself are N'Zoth decks who rely on killing their opponent on the turn after playing N'Zoth, decks such as Freeze Mage who can burst them down in 1 turn, and in my experience Shaman, also by quick bursts such as Rockbiter+Al'Akir/Doomhammer. You can't run a fatigue deck any more, every control deck must have some way of bursting down the opponent in the late game. Fatigue can be made to work in a way by wearing the opponent down, waiting until they have nothing but Jade Idols (1 mana 15/15 PogChamp), then using Deathwing.
Although the jades become big and have some op cards, I disagree with kripp here, I think the problem is more about the shaman cards in general, than the golems. best one drop in the game? check (arguably) best 2 drop in the game? fosho, best cheap removal in the game? yup, best (better than) hard removal in the game? hex yeah, best cheap, medium and hard aoe spells (for their mana costs)? yes, yes and yes. Add Some free 5/5 taunts, a guy that adds 4 power for 2 mana, strong card draw, Dr. 4 etc etc etc. Sometimes I get bored, create a pseudorandom shaman deck WITH ONLY shaman cards, and destroy most people without even thinking. That was a mistake.
Its a pretty simple fix. Release a non-legendary (so you can have 2 in a deck) card with a battlecry that does something like, "Reset your opponents jade counter to 0". Some sort of two mana 3-2 or 2-3 similiar to the tech that an ooze provides. EZPZ.

I don't think this match illustrated Kripp's issue well, he got pretty lucky with the draws, his opponent was less lucky (mind control tech outcome, hero power change). Misplay in the end with attacking.

When it comes to Jade druid I feel like the jade idol should really be changed to shuffle 3 1 mana jade golems into your deck instead of 3 jade idols, making it a true value vs tempo card, by making you choose between 1 golem now or 3 later and take away the infinite value. It of course wouldn't solve the whole jade problem but it at least wouldn't be a card beat all slow control decks. It would also make it a lot worse with auctioneer since the jade golems would be minions instead of spells.
I think Jade Golems should be buffed 1/1's and "silenceable". It's not like we can make a deck with as many Silences as Jade decks have Golems. (Well... Maybe with Priest... But you probably would still have to create a deck specifically to counter Jade Decks.) Or maybe make it so each Jade Golem Art would have a minimum fixed stat... (Like, 1~3 would silence to 1/1, 4~6 would silence to 4/4, 7~19 would silence to 7/7, and 20~30 would silence to 20/20)
I think we may need a new card for Jade: - Jade Eater: Dinosaur. Rogue Card. Battlecry: Spawn a Jade Golem and Evolve it, giving it Charge, Taunt or Stealth by choice. Just for balance purposes ; )
a good counter to jade control decks would be something like kun - a zero mana card that you can only play after round 10 with the "reset golems to 1/1" battlecry. If that's too late in the game (or broken), maybe something like a 8 or 9 drop with shitty stats that will reset the golems to 1/1. idk, just my 2 cents on the matter. I'm sure you can guys can think of a way to create a card that resets golems and isn't totally broken.
I would balance jade golems by instead of making then solid minions, I would change it so they are buff 1/1 tokens. This change would allow the jade mechanic to exist but have a huge weakens to silences. Changing them in this way let's most decks tech in another answer or 2 without sacrificing that much. This change would also make priest a hard counter to jade, mass dispel and other cards like Kabal songstealer and silence would fall into an anti jade/handbuff deck that would bring priest into the meta while nerfing the dominant decks of the current meta
Easy way to fix Jade Golem: change Jade Idol so that the first time you cast it, it reads: summon a jade golem or shuffle 3 copies of this card into your deck. The next Jade Idol reads: summon a jade golem or shuffle 2 copies of this card into your deck. The next Jade Idol reads: summon a jade golem. Period. Give the card diminishing returns.

what if to fix jade they changed the mechanic to "summon a jade golem +1/+1 larger than the last jade golem that died", which would allow counterplay to not kill medium size jades and make them not grow so oppressively, or you could polymorph/devolve/etc to slow the cycle too

The only way I can see jades being counterable would be if the power bonus they get for each successive jade wasn't an upgraded card, but rather the same card that keeps getting buffed (meaning the numbers would be green and counterable.) This mechanic is seen in the Naxxramas adventure as Noth's skeletons do this. (Summon a skeleton, and each skeleton gets stronger) This would make jades counterable via silence effects.

two possible changes could be made to counter jade decks.
First card is a minion with the effect: stealth, destroy any minion with attack equal to its defense.
Second change is to Jade Idol: 2 mana, summon a jade golem OR add three copies of this card to your deck that cost four more mana.(this will mean that the copies cost 6 mana, and the copies from those will cost 10 mana. this will stop the infinite combo aspect)

The first Jade card you play is under-powered, you "break even" in strength by the third card, and after the fourth card you can say that you've also compensated for the lost tempo of your first Jade card being under-powered. Once you see a 5/5 Jade Golem hit the table, the Jade deck is abstractly ahead and will begin pulling ahead after that more and more (assuming both decks are otherwise of equal strength aside from Jade cards vs alternatives).
Another way to say the same thing is that if all Jade Golems were just 2/2 minions, Jade cards would have "correct" mana costs. You sort of break even with a 1/1, 2/2, and 3/3. But that's actually a but weaker than a trio of 2/2s, and you get the 3/3 late. The 4/4 is a strong play, but you are behind in tempo so you need it to be strong.
If Jade Golems capped out in size at 4/4, they'd still be very strong cards. Every Jade card you'd play after the first four Jade cards is coming in with +2/+2 in stats over other cards, with a 4/4 cap in place. In fact even with a golem size cap of 3/3, Jade cards would still build value in the long game beyond their mana cost. You'd catch up in tempo maybe by the sixth golem instead of the fifth, and every golem after that would just be +1/+1 in stats beyond card cost.
One solution that keeps the infinite scaling without being bjorken -- scale at 1/1, 1/2, 2/2, 2/3, 3/3, 3/4, 4/4, 4/5, 5/5, etc etc, or similarly. Maybe only buff the size +1/+1 every other time instead of every time.
The first two golems are under-powered. Strength equalizes on the fifth golem instead of the third. Tempo equalizes roughly on the seventh golem, which is only a 4/4. Even Druid in end-game spamming out golems could not automatically dominate the board, not without setting up an Auctioneer machine. It would be possible for a control deck with a handful of their better cards to hold that at bay for a long time, and maybe get a lot of 2 for 1 minion trades before it finally got out of hand.
Jade Idol is a busted card. With 1-2 Auctioneers and 1-2 Jade Idols in your deck, you can very quickly spawn an army of Jade Golems without putting any other Jade cards in the deck. You can run 1 copy of Jade Idol in a non-Jade deck just to become immune to fatigue, and you start spawning a Jade Golem army as well instead of fatiguing out. The 1 mana cost allows you to quickly tempo into larger golems, getting to the 4/4 (equality) as early as turn 4 without any trouble if you draw the right cards.
Aya is a busted card, although less so. The problem is that it takes only 4 golems to reach equality, so she plays not only like 3 bodies but also like a card draw into a Jade card. It's just a bit much. That low a cost for 3 minions, that also buffs cards in your hand/deck, that is repeatable to turn non-Jade cards into mock-Jade cards (Rogue bounces her and replays her for cheap; Shaman reincarnates her; all 3 Jade classes can run Brann and can bounce her with neutral minions)... it's just too potent for as cheap as they made her, she has an almost aggro deck costing out of Druid thanks to Innervate.
I think I would prefer this scaling honestly -- 1/1, 1/1, 2/2, 2/2, 3/3, 3/3, then cap at 4/4.

I've played this modified mid range jade shaman deck with evolves and a devolve for a while now and I've found it really nice. I'ts a good counter to aggro with maelstrom portals and waterspeakers, along with golems and brann combinations that can run over a lot of control decks. I've found this to be a lot of fun especially with the evolves, which also serve to help outpace other midrange shamans, and I think you guys should look into building this type of deck, I feel it is the better and less cancerous precursor to the eventual jade gangbang that will likely follow. It is also very successful, I'll admit I'm fairly casual and could rank a lot higher if I played more, but my record with my version is around 36-7 and I've got up to I think rank 11, but it can be a legend deck easily.
I kinda wanna try making a wild mode deck with Jade golems, and exactly 6 deathrattle minions for n'zoth to revive ( your 4/4 enemy draw on death, 2/8 pull minion from enemy deck and maybe sludge belcher + aya blackpaw ). I have seen an interesting rogue mill variant that used n'zoth. I feel like it might work in this case.
The next artwork for the Jade Golem is when it gets to a 20 / 20. Not sure if it goes on after that, but the friend I was playing with died too soon for us to find out.
The counters to Jade are Aggro, maybe a faster Midrange, a well drawn Combo deck, or something that can just vomit something stupid on the board before the Jades are too big, like buffed or evolved Doppelgangsters.
Kripp gets SO lucky too you know. That double draw into two lightning bolts, like comon. He can moan and groan all he wants but he gets equally, or most often more lucky than his opponents.
I think a decent fix (for jade druid atleast) might be that you change Jade Idol from adding 3 copies to adding 3 1-cost spells that only have the option to produce a golem. Doesn't destroy the synergy of the deck but means they do have a finite end, strong against control instead of unbeatable.

What if they just stopped growing after 5/5? For example, if you already have a 5/5 jade on the board any jade card you play from that point on just gives you more 5/5s. That makes more sense and is still pretty strong.

Honestly There are only two changes I can think of , (that would need to happen at the same time no less) that could realistically fix the "Jade" problem for everyone who plays this game.
1. Pull a page out of Konami's YU-GI-OH handbook and rise the rarity of All the Jade Card's by one tier. In order to save the majority of casual and arena players from it's tyranny on the meta.

2.(A two piece change)(A:) Make it so that Jade Golem's can never go past (6 / 6) in stats when summoned. + (B:) Make Jade Idol Un-shuffle-able beyond the summoning of Jade Golem 4. To help slow down constructed and make it possible to fatigue a druid.
This is what I would do but don't get me wrong on this , I think rising card rarity (in any T.C.G.) should only ever be done , and I repeat ONLY EVER BE DONE AS A LAST RESORT.
6-6 Is way too low, it would kill the mechanic.

I have been playing midrange Jade Shaman withouth 4 mana 7/7, totem golem, lava burst or even lightining bolt since MSOG came out. The only direct damage spell I have is Jade lightning. So this type of decks are not creeping, ofc u see more of them, but they were pretty good still before the nerfs.
Only control decks that seem to work these days apart from Jade itself are N'Zoth decks who rely on killing their opponent on the turn after playing N'Zoth, decks such as Freeze Mage who can burst them down in 1 turn, and in my experience Shaman, also by quick bursts such as Rockbiter+Al'Akir/Doomhammer.
You can't run a fatigue deck any more, every control deck must have some way of bursting down the opponent in the late game. Fatigue can be made to work in a way by wearing the opponent down, waiting until they have nothing but Jade Idols (1 mana 15/15 PogChamp), then using Deathwing.

Although the jades become big and have some op cards, I disagree with kripp here, I think the problem is more about the shaman cards in general, than the golems.

Add Some free 5/5 taunts, a guy that adds 4 power for 2 mana, strong card draw, Dr. 4 etc etc etc. Sometimes I get bored, create a pseudorandom shaman deck WITH ONLY shaman cards, and destroy most people without even thinking.

I knew this would happen. People were so obsessed with pirate decks that they forgot how cancerous jade decks really are.
Its a pretty simple fix. Release a non-legendary (so you can have 2 in a deck) card with a battlecry that does something like, "Reset your opponents jade counter to 0". Some sort of two mana 3-2 or 2-3 similiar to the tech that an ooze provides.

A common neutral creature with a battlecry of destroy all minions that share the same mame as another minion in play might be a possible counter card.
As a Renolock player, I can confirm that Renolock can and does win a control game against Jade decks quite often.

I don't think this match illustrated Kripp's issue well, he got pretty lucky with the draws, his opponent was less lucky (mind control tech outcome, hero power change). Misplay in the end with attacking.

When it comes to Jade druid I feel like the jade idol should really be changed to shuffle 3 1 mana jade golems into your deck instead of 3 jade idols, making it a true value vs tempo card, by making you choose between 1 golem now or 3 later and take away the infinite value. It of course wouldn't solve the whole jade problem but it at least wouldn't be a card beat all slow control decks. It would also make it a lot worse with auctioneer since the jade golems would be minions instead of spells.
I think Jade Golems should be buffed 1/1's and "silenceable". It's not like we can make a deck with as many Silences as Jade decks have Golems. (Well... Maybe with Priest... But you probably would still have to create a deck specifically to counter Jade Decks.)
Or maybe make it so each Jade Golem Art would have a minimum fixed stat... (Like, 1~3 would silence to 1/1, 4~6 would silence to 4/4, 7~19 would silence to 7/7, and 20~30 would silence to 20/20)
I think we may need a new card for Jade:
- Jade Eater: Dinosaur. Rogue Card. Battlecry: Spawn a Jade Golem and Evolve it, giving it Charge, Taunt or Stealth by choice.

a good counter to jade control decks would be something like kun - a zero mana card that you can only play after round 10 with the "reset golems to 1/1" battlecry. If that's too late in the game (or broken), maybe something like a 8 or 9 drop with shitty stats that will reset the golems to 1/1.
idk, just my 2 cents on the matter. I'm sure you can guys can think of a way to create a card that resets golems and isn't totally broken.
I would balance jade golems by instead of making then solid minions, I would change it so they are buff 1/1 tokens. This change would allow the jade mechanic to exist but have a huge weakens to silences. Changing them in this way let's most decks tech in another answer or 2 without sacrificing that much. This change would also make priest a hard counter to jade, mass dispel and other cards like Kabal songstealer and silence would fall into an anti jade/handbuff deck that would bring priest into the meta while nerfing the dominant decks of the current meta

Easy way to fix Jade Golem: change Jade Idol so that the first time you cast it, it reads: summon a jade golem or shuffle 3 copies of this card into your deck. The next Jade Idol reads: summon a jade golem or shuffle 2 copies of this card into your deck. The next Jade Idol reads: summon a jade golem. Period. Give the card diminishing returns.
