    As a German, these are my words. We need motivated & skilled people, also from abroad, but the system doesn't give them a reason to come. That's why the country is going downhill. High taxes, unnecessary regulations, horrid amounts of bureaucracy, + a very negative attitude towards immgrants if you live outside of Berlin. It's just frustrating...

      Mein Freund, I should say Germany is living in the 80s era. We think we still are world leaders and rich, when in reality most Germans are not rich and when Indian foreign minister scolds German foreign minister for blocking supply of machines because China is pressuring Germany, ut becomes clear how the world sees Germany already. I'm not talking about forever ending Baustelles and slow speed or poor quality of things.
      Moreover the last nails in coffin, Germany needs skilled foreigners but they have brought millions of middle eastern immigrants which none of these other Arab nations wants, creating a bug demographic change and literally initiating the destruction of social fabric of the society. The beautiful society that was based on equality and freedom ❤
      However it's never too late, elect people who have 🍒 and who stand for Germany and say no the America. It will bounce back.
      -A fellow Indian from the steps of Neuköllner streets.

    In Germany, the health care isn't really included in the taxes, you need a medical insurance. Yes, the medical insurance is mandatory and paying it behaves just like as tax. If you consider the medical insurance as tax, then you are paying close to 50% tax.

  • @89TStefan
    @89TStefan 12 днів тому +20

    As a German, I totally feel the same.
    If you are an average dude, or even poor, Germany is great. You can have a living that is not possible in many countries of the world simply because there exist a lot of help for poor people.
    Such as flats being cheaper when having a certain salary, or other helps for children, everything.
    As soon as you work for a good salary, however, Germany is just shitty.
    When you are like me - working in IT, finance, and already at almost-maximum-tax-level, every new Euro you get is 42 cents of tax.
    Insurance and everything included, two thirds you never see. Then there is of course all the other tax that people don't talk about (consumption tax, energy tax, etc.) and you basically pay off almost three quarters. Even when owning and renting out a flat, it is the same. roughly 50% of your rental income goes back to the state.
    Language was never my issue of course, but my wife has issues (she is Japanese), so yeah.
    In the end, I just live here because of my very good job and a very cheap flat I got through personal connections.
    However, that is not the case for the majority of people. Rent is increasing, and with salaries being very low after taxes, it threatens the very existence of many people.
    Housing became so pricy that you are only able to really pay it off without having to worry about nowadays cost when earing around 7.000 to 8.000 Euros after taxes as a household per month, which is roughly 6.600 Euros per person before taxes. Sad thing is, the median is at around 3.500 to 4.000 Euros per person. So the house is not affordable to the majority of the people, there is no way of financial freedom and the tax system even prevents you from actually earning a fortune by yourself.
    And since it is so good for poor people, mostly poor people come to Germany, and because of all the social issues, people here get rightfully pissed when their money is being distributed to foreigners living on taxpayers money. I think the last statistics said that half of the unemployed don't have German passport.
    Sadly, this also increases prejudice against foreigners who are willing to work hard here.
    And yeah, I have my share of friends from other countries who also quit like you did, simply because they couldn't stand it anymore.
    Then there is the issue of too many uneducated German people too, which is something you don't want to come across.
    But honestly - nowadays, basically everyone being capable is turning their back on Germany. So guess what remains? The bottom of society.

    • @pastadecoca4989
      @pastadecoca4989 2 дні тому +1

      It's not about being poor or rich, it is about whether you're a ambitioned person or not. Germany is equally bad for poor people who want to become successful simply because all negatives apply to them as well such as hyper bureaucratic processes. Simply put the poor are kept poor by more and better incentives made available for people who seek inactivity. Any sort of activity is policed and sanctioned quickly if its out of the regulatory scope. All that being said Germany got it right in many aspects. Free education is no joke, just ask people elsewhere paying off their student loan which can also lead a person into a state of dependency and creative inactivity. I don't think everything has to be the same everywhere and the German model of society for sure has a place in this world. Germany just needs to figure out that incentivizing activities and removing regulatory paralysis can be done without sanctions. It's not whether the poor receive too much help, it's about the ambitioned receiving too little help. Unfortunately all debates in Germany revolve around the division between the two groups so the real culprits (politicians) never have to take responsibility.

      I don't understand why the German government collects so much tax, and that too during peacetime. They don't have a proper army, and indirectly, they don't have military expenses. If there was a real global crisis, who knows how they would increase taxes.

    This really made me smile man! so glad to see that i am not the only one experiencing this kind of struggle in Germany and thinking of going back to Dubai. (i'm a bahraini national)
    Truly, Dubai is a blessing after having moved to Germany myself back in June 2022. Don't get me wrong, my eyes are opened about the experience of living and working in central Europe... but never again. Should i ever want a change from Dubai again... i'll probably move to Japan or Singapore or even Thailand but never Europe. EU is truly overrated and I now really understand why people escape the EU.
    The US is a mess for anyone to start a life there now and same goes for Canada. Just work on upskilling yourself and move somewhere like Asia... it really is the region to be or just stay in Dubai and be grateful. the ease of everything in Dubai is just bliss. Racism is everywhere but might as well live somewhere where it is just so easy.
    I hope you don't mind i reach out to you man and we connect? I'd love to get to know how you do these days in Marketing as i also work in the same field but switching careers at the moment.

    Bro, you have landed in the wrong place. Seems like you haven't done your homework before moving to Germany. Especially after living in Dubai people can't settle anywhere in the world. I lived in Dubai for 12 years then I moved to Portugal and left Portugal within 1 year for the UK. The lifestyle that Dubai offers is not available anywhere in the world, I can tell that confidently. But then again as you said you can't be in one place forever, Dubai makes people lazy & people are quite detached from reality. Life in any European Country is only fun when you know the Language. And you have to slow down coming out from Dubai seems like the rest of the world is sleeping in daylight.

    You are right. I also faced this 😂. My husband is german and I don't want to leave him alone and I don't want to live alone somewhere else otherwise I would have left Germany. so my learning German continued😂😂. I am fucked due to language. I am teaching here masters engineering International students in English in one year probably I could start teaching in German. I found a trick to learn German as I learnt English. Not to take much stress. Even native Germans could also don't no professional German which is used in science economics history so on. This takes years to reach on advance level. Conversation German can learn in a year because German is somehow similar to English. However it's extremely frustrating hard work. According to means if after all hard work there is big financial gain then hard working Forigners can stay here. That is the reason for refugees Germany is paradise getting all for free priority to get health care support than Germans. My husband was driving an Ukrainian refugee she was saying now I have beautiful teeth health care gift from Germany 😅. She had big car getting money for her kids for free, apartment for free. In our building in same apartment Syrian migrant refugee family lives on free cost getting money for free of 3 kids.
    For healthcare it's true my German husband got appointment after 3 months his disease get increase. My mother in law 82 years old she got appointment after three months for her heart surgery. Even after her operation few medicine were not available in Apotheke even in big City in Hamburg.

    As a german I have to agree with you in many points: Germany is the opposite of an entrepreneur hotspot like Dubai, but more of a socially defined country even though you also have locations like Berlin or Munich, which are quite attractive for entrepreneurs in comparison with the rest of the country. The upside is human rights such as freedom of opinion, freedom of press and equality, which are limited in other countries such as the UAE or Quatar.
    The downside is that the mass opinion is not totally skyrocketing ambitious and you have to fight harder to make it as entrepreneur with propably less systemical incentives.
    If it comes to cultural aspects such as halal food, you will of course find it more frequently in a muslimic country.
    Flats or appartments, especially if you have higher standards arent as frequent as in higher earning countries, it can become a headache.
    If it comes to the taxes, you have to understand the social and political system of each country, which you as entrepreneur often dont do. The system is based on social responsability, so to speak that the safety net (public education, healthcare, assurances as well as public transport) for all, but especially poorer and less successfull people is financed proportionally more by the taxes of rich people, so that everyone is taken care of. So you do something for the country you live in, but you dont build wealth as quickly as in Dubai or the US.
    Beaurocracy is a major problem in Germany, thats for sure.
    If it comes to the standard of living , especially if you're not earning extraordinarilly much, its quite amazing, which opportunities you have and what you can do in your freetime (as you said, outdoors, culture(such as historical monuments ), seeing something new or even travelling in other european countries.

    I have been in Dubai and I moved to Germany. My motivation was to learn the language as I love German language. Dubai has money but I did not feel good to raise family there. Reason: there are massage parlours and shoddy flesh business under the nose of authority and I feel ashamed that how a Muslim country does not want to regulate it. Secondly the labour exploitation of poor. All the varieties of food you get there are prepared by slave labours. It felt me "haram" even it was prepared halal way. How long a poor labourer from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka should stay without pay and at the mercy of employers for surviving? I found that German style of social system and support to poor for which we pay taxes which is more compliant to Islam than Dubai.

      Actually, the max. premium for health insurance is 1.141.09€ monthly, which is shared (almost) equally between employer and employee. The figure is for 2025, for 2024 it's a bit less. So there is no way that employer and employee pay 800€ each.

      Yes, Dubae / Oman passport capturing & not able to change jobs without employer's consent is extreme exploitation And it should be called out more.
      Bro same can be said for Europe/US since they are also exploiting cheap 3rd world workers & resources through multinational companies. Global South's 80% of population is basically working for Global North.
      Look at textile workers strike at Bangladesh from last 6-8 months as an example

    Entrepreneurship dream in Germany is nearly impossible. That explains why the recent inventions driving human civilisation was never made in Germany. The Internet, Google, UA-cam, Apple, Facebook etc. Germany makes slaves and not thinkers. And you are not likely to climb the property ladder for life. You are going to be a renter of some rusty apartment for a long time moving with your own Kitchen unit each time you want to change apartment . Germany has too many hurdles and will not be able to attract skilled workforce for a very long time whilst the existing ones are ageing out faster than they can be replaced. These plethora of problems explains why German Industry giants are relocating to overseas to survive.

    • @peterweiss123
      @peterweiss123 4 години тому

      Nearly correct....many inventions driving human civilisation are in fact german such as the car, the computer, different types of industrial machines and engines aso. But yes, if it comes to newer IT inventions, Germany want the first one. Overall though, many inventions or world market leaders in different sectors come from Germany. Entrepreneurial culture isnt a thing yet though.

    All the services in Germany don't come for free. Imaging raising children in Dubai. Will they get free education? Or if you get injured or sick and cannot work anymore. Will all expenses and social security be covered. Yes, if you come to Germany as an adult and have no children, you just have to pay for all of this. And for the upkeeping of the infrastructure.
    Countries like Switzerland (and maybe Dubai, don't know for sure) make a lot of money by attracting money from rich people from all over the world, so the locals don't have to pay for everything themselves. A big country cannot do this. Look at the US for instance. If you have health care at all, you lose it when you lose your job. Then get sick and you are screwed and indebted for life.
    There may be some wasting of money (actually, there definitely is) in running everything, but that's the price you have to pay. Take it or leave it. And as a German resident, you have to pay income tax for everything you earn personally. Set up a company elsewhere and keep the money within the company. If the company and you are two different legal subjects, you don't have to pay income tax on what the company makes.
    The Nordic Countries are even worse when it comes to taxes. Still, they are the happiest people in the world. It's not high or low taxes making people happy. It's the society, which I regard even better in the Baltics and the Nordics than in Germany or the Netherlands.
    If your focus is on money only, you might be happy in Dubai. I wouldn't, because I also regard human rights as crucial. My husband and I, a married gay couple, would never find happiness there.
