Hello. I also found your channel recently and being a LOOOOOONG time Chipco player, would like to get your AoH mods but the link does not work. Thanks!
How does your modified rule set compare to the same author’s Altar of Freedom? Is there a difference? I wonder what Greg thinks. Regardless, thank you for adding more war gaming content with excellent quality. I really appreciate your hard work.
I love that you guys did this conversion! Although I really don't want to nitpick especially with this free rule set but is it possible to change the font throughout the rules. The font used makes it really challenging to for a smooth read. Other than that, great job!
4:21 I agree 100% which I noticed most historicals of a scale above a few modern US army companies can honestly be universal set games with just a tad bit more content/mechanics sometimes if the scope is right nothing at all just have generic frontline, artillery and cavlery units with the flavor being in unique units per faction or other rules.
Do you think it would be possible to use those rules with other wars in the 1850's to 1870's (like Napoleon's III Italian campaign of 1859, Franco-Prussian war, Crimean War, etc) It looks like a great set of rules :)
Thanks for the video. I need to download the rules to get a better feel for how the game plays. For example, after watching the game I have no idea how terrain and hasty fortifications affect the roll modifiers. This game seemed to play like an operational board game. I have "Terrible Swift Sword" that plays at a regimental scale, but as you said you wanted a relatively quick game. I always liked ACW games "Johnny Reb II and III" for the more tactical feel, but you can't play a large battle with them.
Pretty cool to modify an existing rule system, then to hand it out for free...Nice! You mentioned other rule systems you were looking at, and was curious on your thoughts on the classic, "Fire and Fury" rule system. They play for the grand tactical, which each element is a brigade. Looking forward to your comments.
We’ve played some Fire and Fury, in particular its Napoleonic adaptation Age of Eagles. I think the consensus was it was a bit too complex for the video. For regular club gaming, it’s a great choice.
Nicely done. Now I just need to buy Age of Hannibal so I can use your updates! As to other battles, as I've stated: Chancellorsville, most inexplicable of them all, IMHO.
Interestingly I'm looking for such rules for the SYW. Still undecided about scale but will be bellow 10mm. It would be great to see what you come up for other wars of the 19th century. Cheers
Hi Thanks for the work on this, looks interesting. The link doesn't seem to work just goes to a blank page your website and other links show fine. Also is this adaption based on the 1st or 2nd edition of AoH, or does that not matter? Do you have infantry skirmishers as well not just the Calvary as an option or just use same stats as skirmishers?
I loved the videos, I watched both parts. I really wonder if it would have gone different based on the actual abilities of the units involved but transplanted into the tactics. I know there are a million variables, but fun to imagine. I do 3d printing if you need figures made. I only have 1 source for them at the moment (stl files) but i'll keep on the lookout. :-)
hey guys, I'm interested in downloading the rules to read but it looks like your website might be having some issues, the age of lincoln link shows a blank page when I go to it.
Would be cool to see some alternate history if like Lee managed to make it to Harrisburg instead of being distracted at Gettysburg and a battle happened here instead haha. I also live in Harrisburg so maybe I'm bias and want to see that more but it'd be cool with the big river in play and stuff
I have a copy of Age of Lincoln and a cloth ping-pong hex-map of Gettysburg with woods, hills, roads, creeks on it and some blue/gray 6/8mm figures to mount on stands so my Thursday night wargaming group can try it out ?? Wargaming is a "simulation" of battling and the older I get the simpler rules I want to play ! My first "wargame was an AH 1963 Hex-Gettysburg ! :-)
Age of Lincoln can be downloaded here for free:

The download does not work. It's a blank webpage. I would really like to try your modifications.

Looks interesting. Now you just need a Age of Napoleon variant!

Looking forward to your Napoleonic battles.

We basically used hills as a +1, fortifications as a +2. You can see how tough terrain affects unit stats in the QRS

Interesting conversion! Thanks for sharing. Subbed.
Really enjoy these videos. Would it be plausible to do a video showing how the terrain was constructed ?
I’ve been playing with ‘Liberty or Death’ in the ACW. Simple, fun, big fan

More games with Age of Lincoln would be great.

The link below and directly on your website doesn't seem to work.
I couldn’t bring up anything either
Doesn't work for me either
Check it now...it should be fixed!

Interestingly enough, the Hannibal rules are derived from a set of Napoleonic rules called "Le Petit Emperor."

for some reason the site is blank when I open it. Is this a bug that will be fixed or is the problem on my side?
Love to see you do Antietam or Chickamauga.

Love it! Would Altar of Freedom scenarios work with these rules pretty well you reckon?
I think so! You’d just need to develop how corps morale would work for that battle.
Very nice can it be tweaked for 54mm figures large adaption
Can the OOB's and piority rating from AoF be used for Age of Lincoln?
Mark - are you using 1st or 2nd edition AoH rules as a basis? I’m trying to figure out whether to use a d8 or d10 for combat
We used 2nd. Use a d8
I wonder with enough tweaks and modifications you could make WW2 version of this or is it too rigid?
thank you

Just say no to useless clickbait arrows!
I’m interested. Too bad they’re unreadable due to the font used.
