    100% agree. Don't stop detailing out the details. Makes it an experience. All your future renters will appreciate it, and of course you get to feel satisfied your whole life you didn't cut corners by adding corners. :)
    Also, is that a new multi-use-kleeman-utility-axe? Pry bar, finish hammer, sledge hammer, micro adjustment tool, demo claw... if only it could cook eggs too.

    Glad you are the one doing all that laminating in-situ! Don't forget: you will need a lot more clamps (top and bottom) than you think! especially in circular forms! Just take your time, that way problems are easier to catch and repair than when everything dries out crooked! That is why I don't even attempt things like that now, just prefer easier projects. My age may have a lot to do with it, but you have yoof (lol), (sound effect here) on your side, and considerable, skill acquired from different projects over the years. As always best wishes, Happy Christmas to all, and look forward to next update. From UK.

    Okay, regular comment. That's pretty cool, having built exactly one spiral staircase opening, and having my "admiral" tell me that she wished the opening was round, and having told her I did too, but that it was beyond my skill level because, well, math, so square it was. (But I can add and subtract fractions, so there's that.) Thanks for the video, take care.

    Round and round we go. Your ability to make round things fit into square holes is quite impressive. I would have found a giant sized plastic culvert and sliced it to size - imagine onion rings from a sweet Vidalia; I know, huge expense and not nearly as artistically creative.
    Thanks for sharing Capt'n!

  • @sassafrasvalley1939
    @sassafrasvalley1939 4 години тому +1

    Cap’n you are totally correct… there is one person who always knows the truth about your little fibs. That is why I always begin each internal conversation… “So I say to myself, SELF…”! It’s like a reckoning, a dose of reality and an intervention…. All rolled into one ‘Point if KNOW Return’. And often a bit humbling too…
    You are lucky to have Airborne National Guard in your area. Those overhead displays are impressive. Our Army National Guard are Engineers. They have a lot of earth working equipment. I can’t fathom how much equipment they have. But, I can marvel at how unique it is. Every single piece is over built and tricked out with features that civilians can’t afford or… would never need. For example… how many Water Tanker Trucks come with water heaters plus both suction and pumper units built in?
    Now about that circular band… the details do indeed elevate a build. And that is just one of many you’ve incorporated, so far. It is looking splendid and can hardly wait until I see all of them in person!

    MIKE, watching the video, just makes me wonder if you could make a circle jig the size you need to fit the opening off site,... laminate all the plywood around it, THEN drop it into place securing it to the treated lumber. But , you probably already have it completed after posting THIS video.
    Great job on the math equation to do this task!
    Carry on Cap'tn !

    Kleeman Khronikles kontinue.....I like the use of the "finish" hammer in this build...a really handy thing. I hope all the radiuses are correct and you have a circle instead of an oblong framing for the ladder. Good progress and I'm sure the admiral is proud of your work. Who knows, you get promoted to Seaman First Class by the end of the year. Great channel, great content.

    Definitely little details make the eye catching finishes and it is at times the most time consuming aspect, but it makes the project come out looking “ooohhhh”so sweet, this circular framing construction is going to be one of those “ooohhhh” moments in the project. Stay the course, this is going to really make that circular stairs pop, thanks for the update, enjoy watching.

    At least when its complete if you upset the Admiral you'll have somewhere to sleep, it will be more comfortable than the outdoor workshop. 🤣😂 Still can't believe that someone just dumped that Beagle out in the woods, I suppose you and the Admiral are looking after him and that's why he looks healthy. The u tube yacht is really coming along, its going to be a beauty when its all done. 👍

    To help with the counter sink... take scrap plywood a few inches square, hole saw it thru,center that over the imbeded bolt with a couple drywall screws, remove the bit from the center of the hole saw, the guide hole in the scrap piece will prevent the pilotless hole saw from wandering around. And then Bob's ur uncle😅

  • @paulhuber4862
    @paulhuber4862 Годину тому +1

    I know you are going to do it your way Mike but I thought I might give you a helpful hint to get a perfect round boarder/perimeter .
    Lay a board across the center of your opening and find the center, put a screw there and attach a string to that screw and go to the center of your 2x12 boarder and that will determine your perimeter and mark that spot on the string then put that string to the corner and the mark will give you a perimeter mark to put a 2x12 across the corner and the will give you a nailing point for your lam boards ( it will give you 8 points to nail instead of 4 points ) plus it will

    Track saw over a table saw for 8’ rips all day long. Most epoxy anchoring systems recommend an angle on the end going into the hole and spun in with an impact wrench making complete contact of the hole and rod. Audio is fine.

    What did the kids name the Beagle?
    Did Blueberry survive?
    Hows Charlotte (doggo)?
    I have loved beagles as long as I can remember, owned them since the early 90's!
    They will protect your kids to the death!!!
    They have a lot of personality!!!
    Mine were all sensitive to loud noises! I trained them to hunt, then anytime we had backyard fireworks, they would go nuts..... baying! People are always "that must hurt his ears"...... NO, He knows after the loud bang, he is supposed to find the Grouse for me, and they are head strong, they would have looked all night if I let them!
