    I have found that you need to leave the compression nut on where the supply line goes when you use the wrench going in that hole. If you don't, you could make the threads oblong, the nut prevents that from happening. I learned the hard way.

      That is great advise. Thank you for mentioning this! You usually only do that once!

    Excellent review!
    I just bought this tonight from Home Depot($26) because it looked really interesting. However I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it or bring it back to the store but after this review I’m keeping it. I’m working at a hotel renovation and we have about 500 of these to switch out. So this should come in handy.

    Another great tool is the ridged multi tool. For faucets lines and installing the faucet and drain strainers. Use that tool constantly. Actually just bought the newer version and happy I bought it.

      I like the ridgid multi tool as well. I wish I had the newer version.

    It also is a perfect tool for putting on shower necks and shower heads! Not shown in the video but the end of big wrench fits inside the shower neck for more extension when tightening it on and fits shower heads as well. All around great plumber tool!

    The 9/16” is for 3/8” nuts. Use lots of those in plumbing.

    Yes use the nut before sticking tool in to hold valve. I found out the hard way. Round became oval.

    Very well presented video, but I am not sure I see the need for a specialist tool for this? Surely you just use a normal wrench to tighten the nut while holding the body of the valve with a set of smallish channel locks, two tools that every plumber should have any way???

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 роки тому +1

      You are right. A plumber will have all the wrenches to do angle stops without this tool. Just a specialty tool by ridgid I wanted to show. It is a little more compact than two wrenches. Thank you for watching!

    Does it work for stops with a half inch outlet?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 роки тому

      No it does not you will need to use an adjustable jaw wrench or an open wrench with it for those odd sizes. Great question. Thanks for watching.

    got one more than ten years ago. it works as it should and comes in very handy when needed. tool finish is quite poor for the price and the two wrenches don't align when screwed together making it ratly when you lay it flat, at least for the made in PRC one i have, the previous Slovenia-made ones had a better finish. still recommend it though. 🔧😽👌

      Oh man. Sorry this tool did not live up to the hype. For a service or finish plumber this is a very handy tool.

    Why are you pretending that the backup wrench screws out? You mentioned that it does and also pantomimed unscrewing it, in reality it's in there fairly loosely and just slides out.
