What gets me is not how modern the city is, it is how CLEAN it is. That really freaks me out how can it remain so clean with so many visitors and residents. I think it is both the people and the government working together to keep it so clean.
In 2018 Just in Los Angeles the cost for these homeless encampment cleanups is $40 million total inc police officers assigned to protect sanitation crews... and this amount have been increase yearly .. because the law in California is that you can't discriminate even when he/ she relieve themselves on the street .. day or night , because they have the right as a human being , but then if you dress normal .. you will be charge ! ..
Clean, modern, efficient (public transportation), and safe. I can tell from the video that it is a safe place just by watching the people out on the streets at this hour. Thank you for sharing.
I traveled Shanghai many times and I had been to the high TV tower to have a bird's eye view of Shanghai at night. it was so wonderful. Seeing is believing. This good video as if brings me back to Shanghai again. thank you sir.
FYI: There's a subway station underneath the Shanghai tower, you don't even have to go above the ground to walk straight from the station to the first floor of Shanghai tower.
I spent four years working in Shanghai and I've gotta to say that Shanghai is definitely the most impressive city I've ever lived in, as a Chinese, I'm really proud of my country, the last few years has witnessed dramatic changes in China, and as the second largest econony body in the world, China deserves respect from the rest of the world, may all of people in the world could lead a happy life as people in China do, sincere wishes from a intern who once worked in Shanghai Marriott hotel
I just returned from Frankfurt ,there were a lot of junk on the street, maybe there are no janitors during the holiday. many youngsters fired the fireworks during the new year welcoming, they did not collect the trash, and bottle. I was very shocked to see it.
Greetings from Dali, China!!! We just moved away from Shanghai, but part of our hearts will always be there. It is an INCREDIBLE city, and a wonderful place to visit!!
I was shopping on Nanging road almost everyday the whole month 30 years ago, the vehicles still passes through, both side of the road were mostly made out of small shops, it’s hard to find toilet, and I go home every time with black dusty fee. And the bund area was in the process of renovation, muddy floor everywhere. I see in your video it’s all tile now, but the bamboo scaffolding is still the same.
The most modern and civilized city of mainland China. Many of my western colleagues always wanted to have a sightseeing and shopping trip in Shanghai after a long week of work or meetings elsewhere in Zhejiang or Jiangsu province. China is totally different from what they’ve seen or heard from the media reports in their countries.
@Michael G F Yau Used to have a lot of people 20 years ago when everyone lived in the city centre, after the government knocked down all the old buildings, people were forced to move to places far far away from downtown, city centre is almost empty and has much less people.
@@icebaby6714 stop spreading lies 😒, people be moved outside get paid 100s thousands ¥ and be ranged into replacement morden homes in other districts around the city with good city living facilities. people still live in old building in Central now are extremely looking farward to be moved and get the money. All money and homes provided either by government or by developers according to law. My friend has recently agreed to move out and will get paid ¥6,000,000 (around 700,000 usd) for his 1 bed apartment in an old central building, and he can buy a 2 bed apartment in a ok area near his parents. 90%of locals (family live in Shanghai since 1960 70 80s or before) have properties. Most mid-class locals have more than 2 properties. And most of these properties are from old house that government sold to people really cheaply before 2000s. And then people sell old house and buy new developments to improve living so almost no local Shanghainese has big pressure on properties.
In fact, these high-rise buildings can get tired after a long time. If you live in a house, you still prefer the detached houses in the European and American neighborhoods.
Chinese are very good builders. Your video shows a small part of what they built in the last 20 - 30 years. Some people in the west are not happy to see that. They’ve been trying hard to push China into war.

Hi John, wondering what camera you're using!
GoPro 7 Black. I use Max 8 360 now.
In fact, these high-rise buildings can get tired after a long time. If you live in a house, you still prefer the detached houses in the European and American neighborhoods.
Those high rise buildings are for business and commercial purposes rather than residential use.

Actually you would be surprised what people think of China. Someone said shanghai was a made up fantasy, and that is was only a swamp
