I think 40K works better at smaller scales such as 6mm up to 15mm. Personally I don't think it works very well at 28mm.

I've always liked the smaller scales way more. It's so much cheaper to get an army together and with todays technology the detail really isnt lost at smaller scales.

I saw another UA-camr 3D print two full AoS armies and build a board as a sort of travel set; he worked at 50% scale which inspired me, I only now discovered that that was 15mm scale and thanks to you, that there's a community.
I might take another look at printing a 15mm space marine army, I might have to either look specifically for lower detail models or enter the waters of digital modelling.

I seriously need to start thinking about getting a 3D printer either later this year or early next. As the possibilities are endless

@@irregularmagazine I'd recommend going down the resin printer route, especially for 15mm stuff. The difficulty curve may be slightly steeper at first, but print quality issues are much easier to diagnose.

I'm a tyranid player from 2nd edition who came back for 10th edition. The scale creep has gotten ridiculous 🫠

Interesting project! I prefer the smaller scales too. I’ve bought into the 8mm legions imperialis stuff. The rules are better than 40k to be honest too!

I have a ton of the old Critical Mass figures and vehicles, they are great! I have thought about 40k in 15mm but prefer the look of OPR or Xenons Rampant
