It's amazing how with just the guitar you can see all the clear seams where John filters the different parts and adds the different effects and all the doubling. He's really a musical genius.
His voice, omg! Love the guitar of course! But when that mellotron kicks in, damn! Harkens me back to the Mike Pinder days of The Moody Blues! Yummers!
Everybody says that. But it’s because it’s the truth. He’s got an ear for the song like few others have. He can bring it all home with a blur of fast fingers shredding the notes or just a long slow single note bend that fades away into ether. But either way- he pours himself through his guitar J A MF’n F!!! ❤️
as an a rtist myself , Iam hugely inspired by John Frusciante on every level.. his abilities on guitar, on modular synths and especially listening to him talk,,, while I know this mix isnt for everyone: for me this is HUGE in the inspiration realm... I seriously dont think the peppers will be near as MAJESTIC, FULL, WIDE and FANTASTIC without him... Im sure the new record will be fine; but i doubt severely as important on an artistic level... massive John Frusciante Lover ME
God damn!! He contribution in whole stadium arcadium is amazing.. that guitar sound and his voice in the chorus and bridge.. speaks whit his soul in each note, frusciante fuckin' genius!!!
I remember seeing him explain the solo of the song and how hard it is due to the fact pretty much everything would effect the quality of the solo, and I haven't seen anyone explain something so difficult so easily as he did. Truly a guitar master.
John Bodoni Probably great egineering and layering techniques, although i'm sure the way he plays have a lot to do with it too. (sorry for bad english)
dude, this is an awesome video, this stripped version of the song would also make a good single by itself. if there was an album just with JF's guitar work of stadium arcadium i would buy it instantly... luckily, there are two videos on youtube that show exactly only john's input, everyone should check these out, they are AMAZING
I wonder if the Nah Nah Nah thing is a well known studio trick or they were like yeah lets overdub some 'nah' that might work. I totally feel what it does, even though you can barely hear it on the track. it like helps inserting the hook deeper into your subconscious or something... I think... nice
He is a genius, no discussion. those of us who have been close to death as he was, have a special connection to every detail of their performances, there's emotion in every single note.. He will be missed in the RHCP.
Happy 42nd birthday John! Though you have never met me, I truly appreciate all you have done and value you as one of my closest friends. You have helped me over the years more than you'd ever know, and you are truly an amazing inspiration. You help me to carry on doing what I love and to love others in life, because you've thought me that there are amazing people out there, no matter how humble or ordinary they may seem. And I hope to one day put out beautiful music, as you do. Much love :)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were a great place for John Frusciante to use and show his musical talents, and John Frusciante was the best guitar player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just a perfect marriage of musical talents.
You can hear the Mellotron chord he describes in the song interview :D Nice way to edit the song so you can only hear John's parts, that makes me happy
How could you dislike this? It gives you insight into the subtle parts that John puts in that you might not pick up on in the album version of the song.
@adrydani92 It would be very cool to hear only John's part in Dosed. It's one of my favorite Chili Peppers songs, and John's guitar work on that song is very cool.
that pic of John from the dani cal vid is a nice tribute to Kurt ... they got the outfit down and John already had the goods with the posture and overall demeanour ... beautiful man ... both him and kurt x)
@LucasHormann The music video for Dani California features the Peppers dressed up as many bands throughout several genres of music. Grunge, Nirvana in particular, was featured with John dressed as Cobain.
You realize that you love a band when you listen to the master tracks instead of the full song
2023 is a good time to be alive as an rhcp fan
I was just thinking that then I look down and see this comment.
HE. IS. BACK

I accurately listened to Dani California, after this video, and I wasn't the only to hear nahhh nah nah nah nah nah nahhhhhhh, hey heyyy hheeeeeyy
I KNEW IT! John doesn't sing the lyrics at the chorus, he mainly just sings NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
I'm sorry but that is only in the first chorus. The 2nd and the 3th time he sings the lyrics in the chorus
++Willem+ Both
and if you see the live shows with john, he also sing in all the chorus
He also sings buddy
Hahaha
It's amazing how with just the guitar you can see all the clear seams where John filters the different parts and adds the different effects and all the doubling. He's really a musical genius.
Every Frusciante video or music teaches you a thing or two about music. I've always learned something new everytime. He's my hero.
He's quite the mad musiciantist...Many don't realize how much input he had on the songs and production.
Check out his solo work if you haven't!
never realized how many layers this song has.john really is a genius at giving songs textures and space and everything.
Hidden arrangements made the RHCP awesome, it's like the soul of the music
shhhhh...you are giving away our most powerful secret ;)
I love these videos where John's vocals are isolated. Beautiful! ❤
I saw this in related videos and said "Hey, john singing here instead anthony? I must listen!" and...
Groove Chu and ya ya ya ya ya ya
We just got clickbaited
Love that compressed vocal. It's so strong!

I really like these videos that separate John from the rest. It's truly amazing what he did for the group before his disappearance.
God damn!! He contribution in whole stadium arcadium is amazing.. that guitar sound and his voice in the chorus and bridge.. speaks whit his soul in each note, frusciante fuckin' genius!!!
That solo... Shit i never heard anything similar... So powerful
Hrvoje Peičić have you really not? It’s pretty similar to Hendrix Purple Haze, the main lick
Purple Haze.

John left RHCP?
Too true, too sad sad sad
He left 5 yrs ago, to continue to pursue his solo career, which he began before the rhcp.. he is simply amazing by the way ^_^
Callisto I'm pretty sure you didn't understand the joke
I get the song reference, but wasn't sure if you actually knew he left hehe *my bad :P
Haha, that's funny :D
I get it
It's truly awesome being able to hear his tracks alone! Such feeling
Seeing other videos on UA-cam about this song I think he's really proud of this song.
+TELEthruVOXx Yeah definitely! And he totally should be. There are so many layers.
I remember seeing him explain the solo of the song and how hard it is due to the fact pretty much everything would effect the quality of the solo, and I haven't seen anyone explain something so difficult so easily as he did. Truly a guitar master.
John's voice is so beautiful, don't need auto tune.
Love the guitar erupting at 3:31.
Yeah! Dense and heavy but I'd swear I can hear the individual string pitches. I'd love to know how he got that sound.
John Bodoni Probably great egineering and layering techniques, although i'm sure the way he plays have a lot to do with it too. (sorry for bad english)
Anne Dworak That’s a pretty sweet kick to the song
Love it
It's just a distortion pedal lmao

Which ones ? :)
This track and all the others come with the Stadium Arcadium music book by I think Hal Leonard. It has a bonus CD.
I wonder if the Nah Nah Nah thing is a well known studio trick or they were like yeah lets overdub some 'nah' that might work. I totally feel what it does, even though you can barely hear it on the track.
it like helps inserting the hook deeper into your subconscious or something... I think... nice
Welcome back John
oh, so the chorus is actually fuzz, i've been using distortion.
it's a boss ds-2 distortion
it’s boss ds2, english muff, and an mxr chorus to compress it
He uses a maxed out DS2 on the chorus. Maxed DS2 has a very fuzz like distorted monster sound that John and Kurt Cobain loved.
rhcpazzi thank you for sharing with us those WONDERFUL vocals from Frusciante!
He is a genius, no discussion. those of us who have been close to death as he was, have a special connection to every detail of their performances, there's emotion in every single note.. He will be missed in the RHCP.
I have good news
Well guess what
Those NA NA NA's are actually so fucking intense but when I listen to this song I can't HEAR THEM
he's running his guitar through a bunch of modular synth machines

This is an isolated track from the recording. Fun to hear this
I really love the guitar. So awesome.

so many riffs just mind blowing

I LOVE the "Nanananananana" part. it fits so damn good.
