Omg. I love this castle & loved spend time there.when I was younger Cookie & Lynn definitely put alot of work into it. Alot looks as I remember it. All that beautiful wood. LJ used to scare us & tell us there was a doungon & it was haunted 😳 good times.
Here I am again, commenting on the east layton castle 8 years later. This castle was a mysterious staple of my childhood. I aim to own this marvelous mansion. I wonder if anyone else has fond memories of this castle?
Beautiful. I don't remember a price being mentioned but I'm pretty sure I'd have to get a mortgage. BTW "just minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport". Translation: "there is constant noise from jets coming and going 24 hours a day".
I miss this house. the good times was spent there. I was shocked when Lyn said it's going on the market. but he sank tons money into it. the house was in piss poor shape when he purchased it. it only had two bedrooms then he added to the house 4 more bedrooms. there was a water fountain in the entryway but it was such a pain to keep it up so Lyn had it ripped out.. almost all the waterfalls didn't work the Landscaping was in really bad shape but he invested tons of money into the property and it is what it is today. The Stables out back up on the mountain is now a guest house with its own pool... if you saw it what it was when Lyn bought the house you be like you paid how much for this dump haha it was bad
@@coopsevy5664 I knew the current residence at the time and I know a lot about the house I spent many years there I also spent many holidays with the family I also volunteered my time to help keep up the property no I wasn't a caretaker I was just a friend of the wardley's now the home is owned by I'm not sure by the name but it's called the Spencer house don't know who the people are haven't met them yet but yes it's a beautiful and gorgeous home and anytime I was visiting I spent a lot of my time up where the bar is or right above the front door in front of that puter fireplace
how is is it constructed ? is it unsubstantial thermally inefficient stick framed with a fancy facades . i suspect it it thermally very uncomfortable in the winter , especially the high ceilings with all of the heat sitting at the peaks.
If I was good at duping the public pretending I had an alien talking through me and got people to believe what I had to say was God's word and law, I too could own such a fine place. She is as bad as the television preachers like Joel Olsteen and such who rip people off who are too dumb to realize it. They remain hardly able to afford health care while these bastards live in Multi million dollar places off people's hard earned money. I even tried listening to her and it goes around in a circle and makes no sense most of it.
No, I hate modern contem! They look dated in 5-10 years of the building. The castle, Italian, French, European Neo classical is the only way to go! Never out of vogue. Some may call it gaudy, but you will not have to rehab them unless you need modern plumbing and electrical.
Up in the den up tge stair case next to tge fire place there was another secret door & a long latter that you had to climb up & you could see the horse stables they must have gotten rid of them .
The wood work- done by McDonald Mill is outstanding! Burt is such a master carver!.
I love the artistic in this home, the water feature's, and the homes with kitchnets, the wood is breathtaking.

Same. I hung out with LJ for a couple summers here.

Beautiful! ❤ I would love to live there. 😊
I used to live in Kaysville very close to this place. Very nice.
I spent my summers here ask what you want. I was there before and after the early remodel.
I played here as a youngster. The owners son launched a 3 wheeler off the front water fall. I was there the week they bought it.
Wow...a castle in Utah, cool.
Looks like the secret passageway in the master bedroom isn't such a secret anymore...
:)
Love that house. I go see it every summer
ohhhhhh that castle, yeah I live near that place, I can see it on the mountains
What city is this? I live in the northern area I have never seen this.
@@coopsevy5664 it’s in East Layton. You really can’t see it from far away because the trees and shrubbery guard it well

It’s actually 30 minutes away from SLC Int’l so you don’t have hear them lmao
4,000,000.00 it was just in a short sale. I live in layton where the castle is located and seen it in the newspaper
Wow, that was an incredible bargain! Around NWI, it takes half a million just to get a 2500sq ft McMansion.
1 word: wow, Utah's the best

Who is this Lyn person? So you lived here and watched this amazing home take on a new life? I'm sure that was a treat to be apart of?

All that fucking wood! Sometimes I don't mind it, but in this place it's just too much!
Maybe a cold ass modern comtemperary made of concrete is more up your alley.
