I noticed in the vertical garage view that they had stored 2 x spares wheels, for trailer AND towing vehicle, underneath. Another problem solved for many motorhomers.
I have recently made a motorcycle rack where I can safely climb on the motor with the help of three ramps. What you see in the video is a steel rail that supports the important piece, that is the wheel stop that also unbalances the bike. This mechanism, however, despite being very fast, still requires a little initial preparation. The times, in comparison with mine, are the same. The difference is that mine can carry 500 kg in complete safety, precisely because it has no parts that can be disassembled. The ramps clip together in a heartbeat and also have an anti-theft lock. The designer of this, however, has greatly reduced the overall dimensions. Congratulations for the great video and a caress to your furry friend!
Brilliant piece of kit Andrew , well now we know what you are treating yourself to this Christmas !! Luv the way Dougall has his paw around your neck , such a sweetie !! ATB !
For an old man such as myself, this could significantly reduce the effort of loading and unloading a bike as well as the safety if you consider those who ride up onto a trailer or truck. Very smart.
Really clever! I was a motorcyclist in the 80s although today I am a cyclist. I see the great benefits of this. Having the motorcycle across the ways on the trailer makes it so much more compact. For a motorhomer I think that would be quite a boon. The standard motorcycle trailer is a huge long thing in comparison.
I think this is so cool when your trying to limit your load. Especially what you have behind you. I bet it saves a little on gas as well. Clever. Extremely clever.
Hi Andrew, cheers for your reply. Yes AL-KO UK dont stock or even order these sawiko trailers but they did put me in touch with Nova Leisure Nuneaton . Nova leisure are contacting Alko Germany for me for a price off the wheely universal model and getint me Some other details about it but have Saïd they probably Will be able to order me the sawiko wheely model but would-be about 5 weeks minimum for delivery from Germany . They bring them over with the New Motorhomes ,when a Motorhome dealership in UK has new motorhomes ariving here
Another interesting video. Last day tomorrow, Sunday, I hope you have enjoyed your visit to Germany. Have a good last day and a safe and good onward journey.
I guess it serves a purpose if you live somewhere that does not have much garage space or you can't just store your trailer in your yard behind your house/garage. One thing that I think might be an issue though is that because it is so short, it is going to be more difficult to back up in a straight line. I don't think it would be a success in the US since we are not that cramped for space and we can get a much larger trailer for the same price or less. Because it put the bike crossways on the trailer, it means that the trailer is going to be wider (albeit quite a bit shorter). Considering the size of some of the roads that I encountered while driving in the UK and Europe, I suspect that added width might be an issue. Oh well... It's interesting to see the different ways that other countries try to solve the same problem... :)
I have a Toyota Tacoma (Highlux) and usually load the motorcycle myself. It's always a difficult load up the ramp under power. This type of video shows the difficulty of a single life. You have made a video of your caravan electric power mover and your expressed need for a backup camera. Maybe this subject could be a proposed series of issues for singles and finding appropriate solutions perhaps? (I can think of 100 difficult issues for single, young and old alike, caravaners). Nice job Andrew!
I really feel like I’m missing something here. It seems to me a traditional trailer that loads two motorcycles instead of one is accomplishing the same thing for half the price. I don’t see anywhere how this is explaining it to be a solution for anything specifically. I do see the trailer overall is shorter but I own a Kendon Trailer where the tail end does fold up to make it very short and it also stands up. I can load 2 Very Heavy street bikes on it very easily facing forward and aft which in my opinion makes it more stable for heavy breaking. What am I missing on this product?
Why is it you never see these in The States Daytona, Florida during (BIKEWEEK or BIKETOBERFEST). At my age this is a must. Are there any dealers in The States?
Nice, but I have a question - how do you secure the sledge not to go further to the front? I see two black plastic stoppers that will have no chance when a big force will push them.Thank you
Being disabled I could use a system like that to load an off road power chair into the motorhome garage! Simple ideas are always the best! All I need is an electric drive to do the work!
Simon Cooper a decent battery powered drill with the right adapter would sail thu that , I use in engineering all the time, may need a cheap step down gearbox
This is nice, but I’m looking for something that will sit on top of my truck bed, not in the bed, but above the bed, so still can carry other thing in the bed
Hi Andrew, Very ingenious motorcycle carrier, well engineered, appears to be well constructed, however it's grossly over priced. It's great you can bring us these type of video, interesting to see European innovation,& what Amdrew likes is interesting too, thank you Sir! 😍😘💞🐐⭐
I would love to have something like this in the back of my Toyota Tacoma. My question is, the height level of the bed is higher than that trailer that looks like 0.61 meters. Also my Harley is almost 362 Kilograms and wonder if that winch and track can hold that much? I don't want the trailer, just the track and loading system.
Wow, that's an excellent solution! Expertly demonstrated by Patrick from Alko, also very impressive. Would this solution work with your Navara though, as your bike appears to be positioned at a slight angle?
I think you could adapt the loading mechanical for your truck. Talk to the people. I bet they could come up with a great design using your truck and bike as a sample. Then you could be their "Slide-it-on" ambassador.
Hello Andrew, loved your video at the caravan salon in Dusseldorf at the Sawiko stand motorbikes trailers. Having called Alko UK at southam I find out you can't actually buy these sawing trailers in the UK or through Alko. You have to order them through a motor home accessories dealers like Nova leisure Nuneaton and they may be able to get these ordered from Germany. I am looking into it. Did you get one off these trailers yourself mate. Paul
Hello again Paul, I don't have one and I know now that they are not really available in the UK. As I mentioned before, your best bet is to contact Al-ko in Germany through their website. Cheers!
All those small trailers are nice and innovative! Can be tow by a small vehicle too! But at a high speeds are safe? Not in america! It looks like they swivel very easy, and when change lanes? Those systems would work fine on top of the front or back of an RV, in the same wheel base. Another thing is that because the bikes are in that position, they will get damages by the debris of the road! Is my point of view, maybe I'm wrong!
Thanks for a great video, Andrew. Do you think this would work for an electric bicycle? I am a small senior female and lifting 80 pounds into the back of a van is a little beyond my ability.
I can't see how this is a better solution than any other bike trailer...... They all work..... The bike is jusr sideways on this one, meaning its more likely to fall over with sudden braking........ Straps can fail, so i would prefer the bike facing forward.......
Interesting. I'm an aspiring-to-be vandweller but I also ride. I don't think I can take my Triumph Rocket III with me though, may have to downsize... well, looking at that trailer, I suppose I could, but it would probably be a bit more practical to have a bike that didn't weigh the next best thing to 400 kilos. However, I would really prefer a covered trailer if I'm going to get a trailer. It would be nicer if the bike wasn't out in the elements, especially behind a van where all the road dirt would just cover the thing.
Good point. I think if you are looking to do this full-time, then a covered trailer is still the way to go as you can put other bits and pieces in there too, such as brush, bucket, even leathers and lid... but this trailer (and especially the loading system) is really cool for most motorhomers' needs.
Nice but here's the downside (sorry!) Trailer that short on a long van/motorhome - all but impossible to reverse if caught on a narrow lane or pass!!!! Did see a similar "Motorbike across a very short trailer" recently towed by a motorhome but trailer was mounted to vehicle at 2 points and trailer wheels were on castors. Result no articulation at all, so much better than this for reversing Looks nicely made though and that rail system would be great in the back of a pick-up like yours Andrew

Best one I’ve seen so far
I've recently found out that they are sadly not available in the UK - meh!
I think this is so cool when your trying to limit your load. Especially what you have behind you. I bet it saves a little on gas as well. Clever. Extremely clever.
Very nice kit.. and I think Dougal did almost smile, he blinked his eyes at least. Love that dowg x.

Any disadvantages to towing horizontally vs vertically? Wind resistance, road debris?
Brilliant design!

That’s a pretty nifty system.
That’s a great device, I wonder if they’ll be exhibiting at the NEC in October? Love to have a good nosey at the different guises👍
What a great trailer , like it a lot 👍
How about mounted to a truck bed? Maybe an American pickup?
Really like this!!!
If Patrick used a cordless electric drill he would be the superstar of the show .
Can you buy just the track and winch so I can put the bike inside of a van ??
I guess it serves a purpose if you live somewhere that does not have much garage space or you can't just store your trailer in your yard behind your house/garage. That’s ingenious !
Fantastic idea!
That looks really simply to use, especially for someone with a motorhome as you say

Mannuel Festoli I have to agree. It seems each time I take my rig out I’m finding something else that annoys me or causes me difficulty.
Great idea. I'd need to do a lot of planning first as I've just got so used to 'just doing it'.
I really feel like I’m missing something here. It seems to me a traditional trailer that loads two motorcycles instead of one is accomplishing the same thing for half the price. Treat Yourself...Dougal would love one..
I can see a small ATV electric winch in that setups future. It looks a particularly safe/stable system. Did you check to see if they do a Ute setup?
Close to your ❤️. Thanks Andrew. Best regards Martin and Anne
Nice, but I have a question - how do you secure the sledge not to go further to the front? I see two black plastic stoppers that will have no chance when a big force will push them.Thank you
Awe, the Pup was the Best Part of the Video!
wow, very nice unit
would the bike drive its self up without using a winch
One question, how you unloading the bike? Very interesting
Can this be used in a van? The winch handle looks like it needs to be offa flat surface....
Wonder if the witch could be made electronically to pull bike on my motor home?
Too bad - it doesn’t seem to be available in the states?
That’s fantastic 👍
Absolutely top shelf

Impossible to find out the length of it…! Or the height when standing 🤔
Brilliant, simply brilliant! Are these available in the UK do we know?
Sadly not David. Al-ko UK did not take them on :(
@@andrewjditton great shame, what fantastic solution. Thanks Andrew, keep posting all those vlogs, always really informative.
What if you’ve got a 3 wheeler like the Yamaha Tricity or Piaggio MP3?
Has the product evolved to put this system IN a camper van?
Is there a demo of getting the bike back off the trailer ?
Commented before watching the end of the video - looks absolutely great !
How would this loading system work in your truck
Hello great video & great ramp. Is this available in USA ? I’m only interested on the ramp to put on my truck.
This is nice, but I’m looking for something that will sit on top of my truck bed, not in the bed, but above the bed, so still can carry other thing in the bed
Is it coming to USA?
Excellent! Now I want a secondhand one for €1000!!!

😍😘💞🐐⭐
Can the track be purchased only and mounted to a pickup truck bed?
Love it.
What about a Easylifter Hydra trail?
Clever 👍🐕
Bernie in palm springs
Amazing product. I have a standard bike trailer and loading up on your own can be a risky business.
Depends witch trailer you use
I would love to have something like this in the back of my Toyota Tacoma.

Kind of a short trailer. Couldnt you just ride the bike onto the trailer?
Really cool idea but I think I will stick with the free hill method.
Wow. Makes me want a motor bike just so I can have one of these. 😁
nice bit pricey, do they sell the runner system with out trailer.
Brill , great piece of equipment best of both worlds 😎
Thank you for the fantastic video's
Over the week from dusseldorf

How can I purchase one of these trailers?
Great video, would be perfect for me if you could put a mobility scooter in the box trailer and have a bike on a rack too. Love to Dougal x
How good is that , thank you
Thought it would attach to a caravan somehow. Mega expensive for what it is?
Have you looked at OZI Concept bike trailers?
How do I get one in the U.S.?
How about long way, for longer motorcycles. Such as Gold Wing or HD.
1 problem. Wind makes a difference when you start pulling something that should be in line with it🤔🤔

Check out the website in the description Colin, and contact your local Al-Ko people. Cheers!
did you get one for your pick-up truck ? im thinking of buying one with electrical motor but hope the ramp to the truckbed doesnt get too steep
Sadly not. This is not sold in the UK :(

That's such a pity. My friends had similar problems trying to get hold of one.
Ingenious buy a winch and some of the slats and you will easily have a system in the Navara.
Why not just drive the bike up? 👀
Thanks for a great video, Andrew. Do you think this would work for an electric bicycle? I am a small senior female and lifting 80 pounds into the back of a van is a little beyond my ability.

Yeah the loading system is great, pretty much eliminates the risk of any abysmal loading failures.
We could all do with someone like Patrick....
Indeed...
I wonder how the road behavior is of a trailer with such a short wheel base........
Fabulous
seems like alot if mucking about. Just push your bike onto a normal trailer.
Nice but here's the downside (sorry!) Trailer that short on a long van/motorhome - all but impossible to reverse if caught on a narrow lane or pass!!!!

Good point! Would hate to reverse with one of those on the back.
Figure out how to Connect a battery powered drill to it
Just get a box trailer no stone rash and secure
Too wide and too short. Trying to back that up would be like trying to push a noodle.
lol 3300 , not now ive seen it , its a weekends work.
Very cool, but expensive.
😃 Hier haben wir das Video mit Einbau und Anleitung der Motorradverladehilfe im Kastenwagen 🛠️ ua-cam.com/video/HPXliKhxWzc/v-deo.html
Great! Thanks for that.
Very expensive.
How much?!!!! I believe you can also use a sledge hammer to break nuts. Never knowingly under engineered. Lol.
1:15..... 3000euro lol xD thats a bit pricy xD
