taking the day off 🌸 🌊 exploring a new neighbourhood in edinburgh

hello friends, i hope you’re well :)
on a whim, i decided to take a monday off and head to Newhaven, a neighbourhood in Edinburgh with a rich history as a former harbour and fishing village. i’d never visited before. however, upon reflection, it isn’t as far as i’d imagined. i’m already thinking about returning when the wind is a bit more manageable-sorry, i sound like a broken record complaining about the wind!
this impromptu day off was exactly what i needed. there's something incredibly calming about being near the water, breathing in the salty air, and listening to the crash of waves. exploring my own city as a tourist is always a delightful change of pace. i highly recommend taking a similar break and embarking on a leisurely adventure. you might be surprised at how refreshing it can be.

It's my favourite activity too :) And going to nice cosy cafes to read a book and journal. Except that in my small town there's no more room for exploring xD Edi looks beautiful. Oh, and that free library in a Tardis shape, cuuute. Thank you for taking us along. Have a lovely week! x

Your small town might have some surprises in store too, or perhaps exploring the nearby town could offer a change of scenery. Hope you have a fab week too!

Absolutely, it was indeed a wonderful day! With blue skies like those, I don't mind the wind anymore - I'll gladly take it! Your neighbourhood is absolutely stunning, and I'm definitely planning on coming back for more visits. It felt like I was in a little vacation village rather than Edinburgh, especially with those breathtaking views. I can only imagine how stunning the sunrises and sunsets must be there! 😍
