This week my team and I took off on a couple thousand mile, 24-hour run to rescue a couple of barn finds worthy of saving in Bloomsdale, Missouri and Ashley, Indiana. Two small towns, one truck, one trailer, one 65 Mustang Fastback and one 78 Toyota Extended Cab Dually w/ Camper Shell... if that's not the makings for the perfect Coffee Walk, then I don't know what is!

Not really a comment on yours, but if you watch enough Dennis Collins vids he negotiates in private over the phone before he even goes to see it (really only his business anyways) as opposed to Gas Monkeys "Schtick" where they give him a really high price and he offers half, but then they seem to always agree making it look like Richard got such a great deal. I find it ironic that Dennis content just gets better and GMG just gets worse, heck Dennis' guys build a lot more than GMG does nowadays as well.

Whatever Dennis is paying Alex he's worth it, just goes about his work and gets it done, no fanfare required. And, those portions were huge.

I have a 1991 mazda sr5 B2600 2wd cab plus. that I always wanted to make into a dually. Great find on the toyota.

PS2 - Seabee brought back a similar dually Toyota truck to Port Hueneme in Ventura County. It always got double takes when driving around town.

See one of these old Toyota duallys set up with a camper on the back near me here in western New York. Old man takes his wife and himself camping around the north east every summer with it. Nice find Dennis I love it! And that’s right from the mouth of a dedicated domestic only kind of guy. Safe travels from your friends in New York!

I 'd love to see you guys give updates on some of these types of rescues, like where did the fastback go, did they choose to restore it or resto mod it etc.

Kelsey, would you please talk to your father for us please and see if he would please possibly hire another camera man to follow some of these old saved classics as they are going thru the shop so we can really watch the rebuilds from start to finish with a celerity guest appearance from your father to give important facts and info as well as other trivia about the particular model and maybe production numbers and then t can be followed all the way thru to final disposition whether that includes Bring a Trailer or Barrett Jackson or other auction companies.
I think there is beyond enough sought after material already happening that it just needs to be captured on video, a voice over on a few parts of the video from the technician at that stage of the game ad have Dennis do one couple minute guest appearance to talk about whatever is special for that model.
A video like this would allow us to follow d being saved, require very little of Dennis’s time, would be easy to film, easy to edit, and if you do this under a new channel titled “Black Mountain, Rebirthed” or something great, then the hardest part would be toting the huge checks to the bank!! A channel Ike this would explode!!!

A guy down the road from me has a mint 65 Mustang coupe in honey gold with the gold interior and its absolutely gorgeous. Back in the 80s when I was growing up in the Casa View area of east Dallas there was a Toyota dually just like that and it was an odd duck at the same time my step grandmother had a Toyota Shinook camper.

Good Ole St. Louis. When I worked for Budweiser in the late '70's early '80's I had to attend many classes at Bud HQ. Best of times! I do hope you took the time to seek out Tom's Bar & Grill, downtown St. Louis.. Great Cold Bud and Great Bar Food.
Pro tip: For next time…removing the valve stem core will enable the air to fill faster and might help seat the bead. No charge.
That only works on dump hoses that are on Tire Machines if you have a normal Air Chuck you need Schrader to activate the mechanical valve in the middle of the head
The owner said there were not many of those Toyota dually trucks but they were not too uncommon to see in the late 70's and early 80's.........was not everyday but I saw them where I live.....I don't think I have ever seen an extended cab though.

Sign was on the place when I bought it. Just left it up there. Makes it easy to find me. Most of the time. Often wonder if the tow company still gets calls

These trucks were brought into the U.S. with no beds. They were considered parts. Then American made beds were installed. Which rust really bad back in the 70s - 90s models.
I'm a bit surprised that Dennis hasn't thrown a couple of sets of GuniWheels on the trailer yet. Might not work incredibly well off road but they might save a fair bit of time and hassle
The only improvement I would like, is to know what some of the cars are brought for. It doesn't have to be all of them.

Took me 9 months with Autobuyer magazines in 1994 to find that same mustang. Numbers matching 289 4sp fastback....just a driver...$5,500. Bet he paid that much now or more just for that. I shoulda kept it.
