I actually liked their "relationship" in the first film. Their scene at Hoover dam told me so much of Megatron and Starscream's dynamic. It's like a more gritty version of Armada Megatron and Starscream. "I tried to to gain favor from you, but nothing was ever good enough. Not matter how many victories I brought, you ALWAYS focused on my faults." This is how I saw Starscream and Megatron in the first film Starscream at the start is a VERY competent warrior, doesn't waste time with theatrics or monologuing, is methodical and doesn't waste movement or shots. He actually puts in calculated and serious effort. A true Decepticon and warrior. The problem for Starscream is that for all his accomplishments (which are considerable), Megatron is just WAY better. And this makes Megatron have absurd standards for Starscream that must be met, and yet despite Starscream's best efforts to do so, the times that he fails are more recognized than his victories, frustrating the Decepticon Seeker Air Commander to end, making the Decepticon SIC more bitter to Megatron, creating tension between the two. (Then all that was washed away in the second and third films)

The Autobots were fluent in English after being on Earth for not even a full day, and Optimus explains they learned Earth languages through the internet. Starscream presumably was on Earth for longer than they were, so it's likely he was already fluent in English too. However the Decepticons would've looked down on Earth languages and only used them when necessary. His voice in the next two films was actually closer to his G1 voice, higher pitched and whiny. I have no idea why he still spoke in a deep growling voice in Cybertronian, but spoke in his high pitched nasally voice in English.
I love that in this they don't make starscream a coward. But he can actually fight. At 0:51 was able to fight several autobots at once and come out victorious.
Starscream could always fight, there have been many moments in different Transformers media where he's been shown to stand his ground - he just typically knows when to back down when the odds are stacked against him. It's even been shown in these films that he'll run off when the Autobots have the turning point.

Even doing a significant amount of damage to Optimus before he got beaten back (if you count deleted scenes). If you were referring to the end of the movie where Optimus was fighting against Megatron and the Fallen however, well that fight was significantly shorter than the forest battle so even if Megatron had time to call in reinforcements, he would've still lost, which meant Starscream potentially dying and on that note, you're right.

Things about Bayverse Starscream I actually like: - his first (English) voice line. It’s very garbled and alien and I kind of wish that was his voice for the rest of the movies. the areal fight with the fleet of raptors was by far the most memorable fight in the first movie mostly because there are no distracting random explosions around it. Sure the camera's a tad too close but at least its not shaking or focusing on any human while the main attraction is in the background. you obviously can tell starscream jumps off one while shooting another, tears off a wing and spins it out of control with his bare hand/claw, transforms into jet mode, one raptor lands a missile on him, transforms back, swipes at it and misses, transforms back and boosts through. i still remember seeing it in the cinema back in 07, it kicked so much ass.
I love the live action starscream, even if he's an ugly dorito and kind of disrespects his G1 version, he's a very good starscream for me, and I wish he had more screentime or had appeared in tf 4 or even 5, dying on one of those of course
@@falius9878 I didn't like it either with his silly chicken legs. I grew up with armada starscream, and i didn't mind the choice of an F-22 raptor since that was his vehicle of choice in energon. But there wasn't one bad starscream scene in the first movie at all that they made up for the design. I guess we could also at least be thankful they kept him being so submissive around Megs and somewhat wanting to be a leader which is more than i can say for the likes of the other decepticons who don't have character in these movies. seriously we need more decepticon scenes heck make a movie of them, that sounds more fun.

One thing I always loved about Bay Starscream is that, despite looking like a Dorito shaped metallic monstrosity, he’s easily one of the most graceful flyers out of all the Starscreams. Always twisting n somersaulting and he always sticks the landing. You’d think he’d struggle to move just by his looks but nope. Majestic as a bird

Starscream is such a sadist. You can see so many cases where Starscream would show active enjoyment in tormenting lesser beings and because of that intoxicating thought that he’s the superior creature compared to the being he’s tormenting, it causes him to fail, like when he’s chasing Sam in Dark of The Moon. He purposely toys with Sam and Carly while chasing them just to terrify them before killing them. That ultimately caused his downfall. Had he just fired a missile upon them or shot them with his machine gun turret, he would’ve survived, killed Sam and moved on. Maybe then we would’ve seen him in the new movies. I sometimes wonder what an Age of Extinction and Last Knight Starscream design would look like.

I enjoy the fact that Star Scream's voice was changed from what it originally sounded like in the first film. In movie 1 he just sounds like a generic decepticon, more or less just a higher version of Megatron's voice, but then in 2 and 3 they give him his proper voice.
I disagree. His voice was superior in the 2007 movie as opposed to the rest of the series imo. I dislike Starscream being a weaselly little bitch and prefer his badassery in the first film.

I like both versions of his voice. His first is more intimidating and his second is way more conniving and gremlin like. Also his design for the jet evolving with the cybertronian symbols were sick
9:24 so I see everyone give starscream crap for dying how he does here, I’m gonna dissect it- first he stammers as his eye is impaled on three paper thin blades that all go into the center of his eye, and ontop of that three prongs all impale his eye and then slowly yet painfully his eye is yanked out of his socket After what is likely a horrifically painful experience he flails around in pain which is understandable before jumping up on a building and trying to punch sam and then just hold onto the building before he loses his grip causing him to stumble backwards onto the other building before he manages to grab hold of the wire and tries to less painfully yank it out of his literal EYE- I admit that him randomly stumbling backwards and into the building again not even trying to scratch the hook out of his eye or grab the wire/Sam seemed a bit unnecessary even if he was still in pain it wouldn’t have been enough to make him stumble right there if I had to bet, but then he flies up likely trying to fling Sam off since he does a quick spin but either he has a internal problem preventing him from flying into the air to get Sam off, or he’s just not thinking about the situation enough and stops flying when the wire likely pulls harder because of Sam being stuck in the building as screamer pulls away and then gets ambushed and shot with armor piercing rounds since normal bullets don’t do anything to cybertronians which is common knowledge at this rate for the army- As scream is being shot from the ground below him and turned into a pincushion he also gets a missile to the shoulder while still having his eye yanked harder because of the wire and where it is pulling on starscreams eye harder as it bends and can’t extent more as Sam is behind starscream kinda making starscream stuck unless he turns around and gets Sam out of the building, when Sam jumps onto a staggered scream and then clings to his face scream doesn’t know what to do since he has a human just hanging onto his face now and the amount of pain from the missile and bullets and his eye is likely adding up, Sam then stabs a decently large bomb into screams other eye completely blinding him making him understandably freak out in pain and fear/stress that he’s blind as Sam still hangs onto him and he now has no idea where he is, not to mention again all the damage even now minor the bullets were are adding up in pain causing scream to flip and lose it completely as he begins panicking and now Lennox hangs onto the wire with sam adding more weight and pulling harder on screams still barely attached eye while he struggles and bangs his face on the ground in a desperate attempt to get the two objects one of which is rapidly beeping adding to his panic as it’s obviously a bomb- scream scratches his face to get them out of his eyes but fails and just curses the humans in frustration and starts seemingly getting loopy and light headed likely from energon loss or something similar since his eyes are either being yanked out or are now gone entirely, he then stumbles and while still blind flies up but has no idea where he is in relation to his surroundings so he just lands on the corner of the building and tries to sit up straight as the bomb beeps quicker and starscream tries again to get the hook out of his eye along with the bomb while angrily and in a seemingly confused state cursing the humans before he ends up dying mid sentence Summary : scream was caught off guard and at first in agony and panicking as the pain in his eye slowly but surely got worse until he was ambushed and had bullets and missiles and the hook pull even harder on his eye leaving him confused, panicking, and stunned and staggered before sam suddenly grabs onto screams face and hangs on surprising and catching him off guard before his other eye is completely destroyed by the bomb being jammed in there making it pop out of socket and destroying whatever wires are still in there making him blind causing scream to lose it and panic while angrily screaming and cursing the humans out as the beeping of the bomb lodged in his eye makes his panic worse not to mention his infused seemingly making him loopy and more unfocused in a sense as he stumbles in pain before flying but not knowing where he is making him land and then did as he tries to claw the stuff out of his eyes in panic and frustration, screamer died because he was caught off guard, in pain, confused and then ambushed leading to a lot of pain and panicking on on his part before he loses all concentration in pain and is blinded completely and just loses his mind

The main one I see missing is a clip from the Forest Battle seen in the only IMAX version of TF2, you can probably find it on youtube. It's a small extension of the Forest Battle where Optimus is getting pushed around by the Decepticons right before Megatron's kick to the face. Starscream noticeably uses his saw on Optimus in the clip.
Man, the personality kept growing across the trilogy. In the first his 2 lines are those of a servant. In the second he displays cowardice and sadism. In the third he sounds like a servant again (with a bit of sass) and just in his death scene he was just dripping with sadistic mockery, fear and pain and a lot of anger. Long live the flying dorito.

@@BevalidinCambodia the first thing we learn about him is that he crash landed on earth after abandoning his soldiers, his only command to any decepticon is only to starscream and that command is "get them" starscream is the first decepticon to act in the final battle while megatron arrives late guess he was taking a nap, the first thing he does is kill the baby sized autobot and fly off he fails to catch a human on foot he doesn't lead his soldiers and his fight with optimus sucks
Idk if it's my favourite line, but I really do love the way he says and gestures, "Oh I just love it when your little, insect feet, try, to run!" with his fingers mimicking the walking motion
something about watching starscream do a maneuver in an F-22 that the real aircraft might actually be able to pull off then transforming and immediately engaging enemies is so satisfying

Agree totally, he was such a badass, and believable as Mega's 2nd in command. His voice was intimidating, also how deadly he was to be able to take on three autobots simultaneously. Even in the first movie before the city battle, Ironhide shouts "it's Starscreeeeeam!!" and you know shit's about to get real.
I've always seen starscream as tactful, a brilliant second in command, but is always full of himself. If it weren't for his constant chase for leadership, and if he'd just focus on mastering his position, he could have a good chance in taking over.
Megatron scared me so much as a kid. When I went upstairs to get some stuff. I would run fast downstairs because I would imagine that he was chasing me.!😂
I really prefer his whole persona and voice in the first movie, I felt he was so formidable as Megatron's second in command. That scene where he lands on the bridge to take out the generators, you can feel his sheer heft as he lands, readjusts, and fires the rockets. I felt he was turned into a little bit of a joke in the later movies.

the areal fight with the fleet of raptors was by far the most memorable fight in the first movie mostly because there are no distracting random explosions around it. Sure the camera's a tad too close but at least its not shaking or focusing on any human while the main attraction is in the background. you obviously can tell starscream jumps off one while shooting another, tears off a wing and spins it out of control with his bare hand/claw, transforms into jet mode, one raptor lands a missile on him, transforms back, swipes at it and misses, transforms back and boosts through. i still remember seeing it in the cinema back in 07, it kicked so much ass.
I love the live action starscream, even if he's an ugly dorito and kind of disrespects his G1 version, he's a very good starscream for me, and I wish he had more screentime or had appeared in tf 4 or even 5, dying on one of those of course
@@falius9878 I didn't like it either with his silly chicken legs. I grew up with armada starscream, and i didn't mind the choice of an F-22 raptor since that was his vehicle of choice in energon. But there wasn't one bad starscream scene in the first movie at all that they made up for the design. I guess we could also at least be thankful they kept him being so submissive around Megs and somewhat wanting to be a leader which is more than i can say for the likes of the other decepticons who don't have character in these movies. seriously we need more decepticon scenes heck make a movie of them, that sounds more fun.

Starscream is such a sadist. You can see so many cases where Starscream would show active enjoyment in tormenting lesser beings and because of that intoxicating thought that he’s the superior creature compared to the being he’s tormenting, it causes him to fail, like when he’s chasing Sam in Dark of The Moon. He purposely toys with Sam and Carly while chasing them just to terrify them before killing them. That ultimately caused his downfall. Had he just fired a missile upon them or shot them with his machine gun turret, he would’ve survived, killed Sam and moved on. Maybe then we would’ve seen him in the new movies. I sometimes wonder what an Age of Extinction and Last Knight Starscream design would look like.

I enjoy the fact that Star Scream's voice was changed from what it originally sounded like in the first film. In movie 1 he just sounds like a generic decepticon, more or less just a higher version of Megatron's voice, but then in 2 and 3 they give him his proper voice.

9:24 so I see everyone give starscream crap for dying how he does here, I’m gonna dissect it- first he stammers as his eye is impaled on three paper thin blades that all go into the center of his eye, and ontop of that three prongs all impale his eye and then slowly yet painfully his eye is yanked out of his socket
After what is likely a horrifically painful experience he flails around in pain which is understandable before jumping up on a building and trying to punch sam and then just hold onto the building before he loses his grip causing him to stumble backwards onto the other building before he manages to grab hold of the wire and tries to less painfully yank it out of his literal EYE-
I admit that him randomly stumbling backwards and into the building again not even trying to scratch the hook out of his eye or grab the wire/Sam seemed a bit unnecessary even if he was still in pain it wouldn’t have been enough to make him stumble right there if I had to bet, but then he flies up likely trying to fling Sam off since he does a quick spin but either he has a internal problem preventing him from flying into the air to get Sam off, or he’s just not thinking about the situation enough and stops flying when the wire likely pulls harder because of Sam being stuck in the building as screamer pulls away and then gets ambushed and shot with armor piercing rounds since normal bullets don’t do anything to cybertronians which is common knowledge at this rate for the army-
As scream is being shot from the ground below him and turned into a pincushion he also gets a missile to the shoulder while still having his eye yanked harder because of the wire and where it is pulling on starscreams eye harder as it bends and can’t extent more as Sam is behind starscream kinda making starscream stuck unless he turns around and gets Sam out of the building, when Sam jumps onto a staggered scream and then clings to his face scream doesn’t know what to do since he has a human just hanging onto his face now and the amount of pain from the missile and bullets and his eye is likely adding up, Sam then stabs a decently large bomb into screams other eye completely blinding him making him understandably freak out in pain and fear/stress that he’s blind as Sam still hangs onto him and he now has no idea where he is, not to mention again all the damage even now minor the bullets were are adding up in pain causing scream to flip and lose it completely as he begins panicking and now Lennox hangs onto the wire with sam adding more weight and pulling harder on screams still barely attached eye while he struggles and bangs his face on the ground in a desperate attempt to get the two objects one of which is rapidly beeping adding to his panic as it’s obviously a bomb- scream scratches his face to get them out of his eyes but fails and just curses the humans in frustration and starts seemingly getting loopy and light headed likely from energon loss or something similar since his eyes are either being yanked out or are now gone entirely, he then stumbles and while still blind flies up but has no idea where he is in relation to his surroundings so he just lands on the corner of the building and tries to sit up straight as the bomb beeps quicker and starscream tries again to get the hook out of his eye along with the bomb while angrily and in a seemingly confused state cursing the humans before he ends up dying mid sentence
Summary : scream was caught off guard and at first in agony and panicking as the pain in his eye slowly but surely got worse until he was ambushed and had bullets and missiles and the hook pull even harder on his eye leaving him confused, panicking, and stunned and staggered before sam suddenly grabs onto screams face and hangs on surprising and catching him off guard before his other eye is completely destroyed by the bomb being jammed in there making it pop out of socket and destroying whatever wires are still in there making him blind causing scream to lose it and panic while angrily screaming and cursing the humans out as the beeping of the bomb lodged in his eye makes his panic worse not to mention his infused seemingly making him loopy and more unfocused in a sense as he stumbles in pain before flying but not knowing where he is making him land and then did as he tries to claw the stuff out of his eyes in panic and frustration, screamer died because he was caught off guard, in pain, confused and then ambushed leading to a lot of pain and panicking on on his part before he loses all concentration in pain and is blinded completely and just loses his mind

The main one I see missing is a clip from the Forest Battle seen in the only IMAX version of TF2, you can probably find it on youtube. It's a small extension of the Forest Battle where Optimus is getting pushed around by the Decepticons right before Megatron's kick to the face. Starscream noticeably uses his saw on Optimus in the clip.
Man, the personality kept growing across the trilogy. In the first his 2 lines are those of a servant. In the second he displays cowardice and sadism. In the third he sounds like a servant again (with a bit of sass) and just in his death scene he was just dripping with sadistic mockery, fear and pain and a lot of anger. Long live the flying dorito.

I really prefer his whole persona and voice in the first movie, I felt he was so formidable as Megatron's second in command. That scene where he lands on the bridge to take out the generators, you can feel his sheer heft as he lands, readjusts, and fires the rockets.
