I'm interested in this anime, but can someone tell me if it at all steers towards HSoTD levels of fanservice or Hellsing/Elfen Lied levels of blood and gore. On Anichart it classified it as seinen, which I know Hellsing and Akira fall under, and those are too much for me.
Rukia Shimazu it's a mix of Slice of Life and horror. But there's no gore (at least as of episode 3). It's more of atmospheric anime than gore&blood. Also there is no fanservice.

So I've been checking out your channel a little bit. You have a great voice, and you can mix good, too. But something about your covers bothers me: the lyrics. While you do a good job on making sure that the lyrics rhyme where the should, I think your covers would be a lot better if you could have the proper meter in each song.

I typically write the songs to mirror the meter of the original, which is almost impossible to do 'properly' from Japanese to English because, well, different language. Whether I do it correctly or not I get complaints about it either being too different from the original and the timing being inaccurate or this, the English meter not being correct. It's a lose/lose. It's kind of funny because even though people complained about the meter being incorrect in This Game in English, I also got complaints about the few times the 'meter' didn't completely match the Japanese version.
So for now I just kind of decide right off the bat what kind of 'liberties' I'm going to take with a song and why. Unless I'm super passionate about the song I'm singing and it means something special to me that I feel justifies me straying from the original in terms of such things, I don't try to change it up too much in that regard because it's not my song in the first place.
I sang this one because the anime is interesting and the ending song was cute. I would have sang it in Japanese, but that gets me complaints too, so I wrote translyrics.
No matter what I do I lose, I can't please everyone with any method of songwriting, so I just kind of do what I can and what I feel on a song-by-song basis ( or sometimes a line-by-line basis if I end up changing a lot of the literal translation anyway due to it being super vague ).
Edit: Oh. And I've been doing music for as long as I can remember, choir, musical theater and studied music composition and songwriting in college/etc all of the good stuff ... So usually I'm pretty conscious of how I'm writing something, even if it kills me inside to write lines a certain way, it's not my song to compleeeetely deconstruct and change, which I think a lot of people forget. The other week I got a comment complaining about how the verses in the song ( as in the topic of the song ) didn't match up with what the chorus was saying and I was like "what am I supposed to do, it's not my song, I'm not going to change what topic the original songwriter was writing about???" Haha, so idk. Sigh.
I actually make a note as I write of what words I'm changing from the original and what words I'm incorrectly 'stretching out' ever since Unravel, after I got a flood of 'these aren't the right lyrics', so that if anyone super critical comes along and thinks I don't put a drop of thought into what I'm writing, I have a whole document of notes for the song. Aha ... ;;

Thanks for replying. Personally, I think it's okay to make any necessary changes if it makes the song sound better. Even if you stray from what the original lyrics are specifically saying, if your lyrics still keep in touch with the overall "feel" or "tone" of the song, I think it's okay. After all, covers are about putting your own touch on a song.
Maybe you could ask someone who's skilled at adapting lyrics (like Y. Chang, Sapphire, or ShadowLink4321) to help you on a song if you're ever having trouble. I could even help you out if you wanted me to, since I've adapted lyrics before.
I'd recommend checking out Amanda Lee's guide on writing lyrics. It's pretty good!

Yes, I understand that :) Sorry, if I sounded horrible or extremely rude, I just adore artists like Jayn, who create their own lyrics ^.^ Unlike, other youtaites out there who find it hard to stay true to the original content, Jayn does an awesome job!! Hopefully, I didn't sound mean ~ But I believe Jayn should continue with writing her own beautiful lyrics ^^
