Is this Michter's most fascinating bottle? I sit down to review a pour of Shenk's Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey 2023 release. This is a highly allocated and experimental annual release from Michter's. It's available for $110 and often goes outside the box. The question remains: Is it weird or wonderful?

Wow this review is spot on! I had a couple of pours of the 23 Shenks and it didn’t jive with my palate. My bros all said it was a winner for them though! I just picked up 2024 Shenks and I’m going to give it a go😎 Sidenote the 23 Bombergers was my jam and I hunted all last year with no luck but just got the 24 💣 too 😍

Just picked up the shanks and the bomberger's The 2024 is a much better run than previous years especially for the bombergr's

I was fortunate enough to find this and Bomberger's side by side and snagged them. Michters being my favorite distiller I had to. These will be my show pieces lol I don't think I can open them 😂

I bought the 2022 release of Shenks and did not enjoy it. Everyone said the 2023 release was much better, but I wouldn’t bite.
From my understanding, whiskey is called sour mash when there is less than 51% of any one grain. They could do any combination of grains that way.

The 2023 shenks was one of my favorite bottles of last year. My bottle is almost gone.
