I love instacart. I use it as a customer, not an employee. It costs me about $20 more than if I were to do my own shopping. But I take the bus so delivery is so nice.
Bullshit. And no disrespect to you but as in it cost way more than an extra $20. They jack the prices up on the merchandise it's self. Example: Here at Kroger a gallon of milk is $1.39. Instacart charges $3.09. That's almost a 3x hike. And it's not just milk. It's such a rip-off. Even if you don't have a car an Uber trip would save you money

Love the videos man, they’re a big help to anyone trying to make a living or just some extra cash by working in the gig economy. For a future video you should do Amazon Flex, that’s what I do as a full time job and it pays great!
Moe A. It pays between $18-$25 an hour, so a 3 hour delivery route pays $54 and a 4 hour will pay $72 at the base rate, but there are times when they pay more than that, which is why it can go as high as $25 an hour. The biggest drawback to it is that you are not reimbursed for mileage or gas.
Grocery shopping, esp. at Costco is a stressful chore that a lot of people hate to do, so I think people actually appreciate having someone else doing a major chore for them. My mother loves what Costco offers for sale, but its almost always a stampede just to get around the store. As well, most of their items are bulk packed making them harder to carry for the elderly, or smaller people. I usually tip for takeout, so Id def. leave a fin or a tenner for someone letting me skip the grocery getting experience. Just subbed. Love the vids. Many of these gig jobs pay like poo, so its nice to see someone putting in the time and effort to generate some base level numbers and expectations from those jobs.
The only way to do grocery shopping is click list from Kroger. They only charge you $5 to get your groceries for you and you come at a specific time and call a number and they load it in your trunk for you. Instacart's fees and other things are very expensive and a waste.
They used to pay a lot more. I’m in Orange County and they used to pay you about $10 per batch and $0.40 for each item. Duplicates don’t count. The pay has been cut almost in 30-50% from how it was before.
ian dms yeah, all the new people that’s doing it doesn’t know but it paid real well back in the days. The person that referred me showed me her pay for 1 week (5days only) and it was $1000/week.
@How Much? I drive fulltime for instacart. A lot of customers tip on the app and then when they get the groceries, hand you a fiver or tenner. The customer also has 3 days to adjust their tip in the app and rate you 5*. If they give you a five star rating, instacart pays you $3 more per rating you get. Make sure to let each customer know to give you a 5 star rating real quick and you'll notice when you go back to look at that batch you'll have something called a "quality bonus" and it's $3 per batch you do that they leave a 5 star rating.
As much as I like that they pay more for higher ratings, as a customer I do not enjoy hearing about how I need to give someone a 5 star rating. Those rankings are earned, not requested. The only time I have given a 4 star rating was when I was given food that spoiled within 2 days (brown beef isn't usable) and it came out to be roughly $50 worth of meat. Regardless, that was the only time. Every other time the drivers are kind and very understanding when it comes to shopping for items so I always make sure to give a 10% tip. One guy I had deliver to me was grateful because I ordered about $200 worth of food and my tip to him was like $25. It made me realize that they don't get tipped much.
Yeah, exactly. Ratings are earned, just like tips. I've worked for tips most of my life and it comes naturally to just do the best you can and go above and beyond, also be nice. Even if the customer isn't lol. I remember so many other girls complaining and being rude and jealous but if you're lazy and have a bad attitude on the job then you're obviously not gonna earn good tips. And definitely don't be pushy about. If I were the customer, I definitely wouldn't appreciate that

Shipt in my area is $8 for delivery only and then you don't know the payout on the shopped ones until you finish and I've had below $7!
Need to know how much your car insurance increased since you are now using your car as a business plus your operating cost per mile along with vehicle depreciation with extra mileage.
Instacart didn’t have delivery in my area of Los Angeles, whether scheduled or not, on a Sunday. I cancelled the trial. I’m about 2 miles from downtown Los Angeles in one of the most densely populated areas. Doesn’t make sense to not have service.

Not saying I for sure won't do it without that but tbh I haven't been receiving many orders and really getting tired of it because I don't even live within a zone so I have to physically drive to one and sit around in my car for the day. Just driving to & from the zone alone is costing me $16 in gas, then theres the gas to the store and to the customer. So you can see why I'm only half way through it and already getting over it.
Very helpful, thank you. Looking forward to seeing the follow up video
Happy you enjoyed it!
Nice vlog on Instacart. Good luck with them in Seattle. I gave up on them in Chicago a few months ago. The pay is too low and the mileage is too much.
Thanks for the video i just started postmates really grest app but you cannot make as much money im doing at least 5 to 8 hrs a day Getting $40. i havent started instacart yet but it seems like you would make double the amount. im located in vegas so ill let you guys know.
I'm curious about how many miles you drove? I did a 6 hour shift with Shipt last Friday and ended up driving 73 miles! I don't usually do that much in a day on the food delivery apps and not all the customers tipped. Shipt in my area is $8 for delivery only and then you don't know the payout on the shopped ones until you finish and I've had below $7!
Lol I did my first instacart order yesterday! Love it. Super convenient
ANDI the pay good? Need a another job on the side, & do they check for driver license?
Alvin Cerna they used to pay good. Not so much anymore.
Hey sorry i placed an order as a consumer
Can you please deliver groceries for Shipt next?? :)
Need to know how much your car insurance increased since you are now using your car as a business plus your operating cost per mile along with vehicle depreciation with extra mileage.
ya thats not a real thing
Instacart didn’t have delivery in my area of Los Angeles, whether scheduled or not, on a Sunday. I cancelled the trial. I’m about 2 miles from downtown Los Angeles in one of the most densely populated areas. Doesn’t make sense to not have service.
How can one get continuous orders ? I went through lots of downtime
Dude I'm loving these videos. I'm trying to find the perfect side hustle right now. I live in SoCal and it's crazy expensive out here. I need a good side hustle to help support my family. What do you recommend? I was thinking maybe Instacart or DoorDash
Moving out of California 😂
@@444brandy Honestly that's my goal eventually lol
Sign up for both i guess.
Thanks for the video. I think you did a great job. Just one question on the Costco part. Was it already ready ? If it wasn't how did you get in and pay without a Costco card ?
you don't need a costco card to order from costco on instacart
@@universalcollective427 I'm asking as a ( Driver ), how did he get into Costco to get the order. Or was it ready for him to pick up like Walmart and some other stores. Not from a customer stands
Great vid!! What size cooler did u get?
Bruh, just did the math. You made 122 in 6 hours, thats like 20 an hour
Great content
Pass a background check to deliver groceries? Oh, your in Seattle! That makes sense. The city overflowing with homeless people because society tossed them out. "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you, unless they don't pass a background check, then thy need not hire nor house them." Colossians 3:13
Very cool. I was curious about how much this service pays
If you are fast shopper and first 2 week of the month you can make 300-400 a day for 12 hr shift...
Really that's not bad. I thought Instacart was cutting back pay and bonuses?
No way, been doing it for months never happened. Most I ever got in a week was 750 and that was before they began paying less
Jason Pemberton yes way, well for Sf zone anyway
@@DjForever5 okay
False info
Does your insurance company know you’re using your vehicle for commercial purposes?? You probably aren’t covered if you get into an accident because it’s most likely a policy violation
Your awesome, I love your videos, thank you!
Thanks Dustin!
This seems pretty profitable compared to some of the other methods on this channel
Hmmm this seems better than DoorDash. I might give it a try.
Good tips!
Thank you for this video!!!
Not heard of Instacart before and as someone from the UK this seems very expensive to get some shopping delivered. Do the grocery stores themselves not have a delivery service in the US? I get my shopping delivered by Morrisons, sometimes for only £2 and they give me an hour time window on a chosen day.
Great video, can you make me a pc that can play cyberpunk 2077?
DAMNNNN $17 an hour, lets say gas is 2$ per hour which is an overestimate, youre still making good $15 an hour.
It's Seattle. Minimum wage is $15 anyway and $16 an hour if you work for an employer with more than 500 employees
@@livingaboard Yea we'll im in miami and minimum wage is 8.45 so its a good deal for me. Plus not everyone can live in seattle, LA or NY where minimum wage is 15. So if you live in big cities like philly, boston, dallas, denver etc it works out pretty good so
@@carloscruz4626 Dallas.. not so much. Try $7.25 -- and they complain about THAT being too much and whine anytime someone suggests a higher minimum wage.
@@carloscruz4626 2 bucks a gallon an overestimate? It's 2.50 here in Dallas. And L.A. doesnt pay 15 a hour. More like 13.
@@foty73 i didnt say 2$ a gallon, I said 2$ an hour which i doubt he drives enough to waste 1 gallon. So 2$ is an overestimate. In reality probably wastes 2 gallons a day at most
Instacart just restructured their payment system for shoppers. However, I still like Shipt better. I think their training material is better with shipt. Also last time i tried instacart you sign up for shifts that are a couple hours. If you take yourself of the schedule like it something comes up then you are dinged. With Shipt you sign up for an hour shift at a time and can take yourself on and off at your leisure.
That's true, but if you forget to drop your hours, you can just decline shops. It's what I do if I wake up sick or something.
@@morewithmandy1050 its not hard to drop hours at all though. Nor will it count against you to do so like it does with instacart. If i want to stop early because I'm tired or I suddenly don't feel well then I can.
Im gonna try Shipt and let you know in a video
Did you move to seattle? How do you like it? I do lyft here, it can be a little frusturating for people who have never driven here.
when are you gonna come out with the second part of this video? You were gonna let us know how much you really made.
Do you get to see the items before accepting the delivery?
Instacart is Dope
They rip you off.
Your honestly the best love them vids
Thank you do much
I do full service instacart part time and make 300 a week.
That it
@@fisher2536 yea for me it is good money I have a well paying full time job , my wife has a full time job, my car is fuel efficient so this goes to kill debt, also I dont have a boss, i can just not work like o did when k went to boston.
roughly how many hours though. 300 is great part time as long as its not a ton of hours.
After gas and expenses?
@@iandms1160 part time usually means around 20 hrs a week (5 day week)
So how does it work in states that charge for grocery bags? Does the customer pay for those bags or does the shopper not use bags?
Where do you get the stickers for the bar codes on the bags from?
These videos are fun!! Haha
Very helpful. Thank you
can you do delivery for Whole Foods from Amazon? im curious cause amazon has a station at my neighborhood in whole foods and its busy.
@Bubba G I live in NJ and tried Amazon's grocery delivery service once. It was a complete screw up and I will NEVER use their service again! I prefer Instacart. a much more personal and reliable service!
4:45 can’t tell if that’s an editing mistake or intentional
I think it's an editing mistake
I heard you cant use coolers
So a $10 tip for 10 cases of water would be fair?
Ohhhh I can't help how handsome You are!! So cute
Can u use a ebt card when using this service
Can you work this app and also do Postmates at the same time then you can say more busy
I do grubhub, in between orders you have to be careful though. Some times you'll be going in the opposite direction.
How much? I do this for a living and can tell you on good shifts I've made 20 a hour and on bad ones a litlle over 10 it's also important to pick the busy days for better results
T.R.U. media when are busy days?
I had to pause at 2:23 and jump back a few frames to see if you were throwing in some kind of subliminal message.
haha! I did the same thing! it's like a frame of him standing at the back of his SUV showing the cooler... Have to have a talk with the editor, maybe the producer should get involved but let's not drag upper management into this. :)
Again @ 4:46
Do you need to provide a drivers licence and proof of insurance? Also do you go through a background check? asking for a friend haha
They run a DMV report for driving record and if your drivers license is suspended. That also shows insurance on the car. They do a background check.
signature from customer is only required with alcohol, guns, ammo or tobacco
How You Pay For Orders Or Customer Already Paid Online ?
Great video & you are handsome!
