My Top 10: 10. Gengar (Shadow Ball, all day every day. I didn't have many friends as a kid, so it was incredibly satisfying to finally get a Gengar legit. It only took 11 years.) 9. Rhyhorn (I caught a Shiny Rhyhorn in the Safari when I was 7. That's it. It just sat in my box, but Rhyhorn looks f*cking badass red.) 8. Dragonair (I like sea serpents. I love Dragonair. It looks so beautiful, so calm, so peaceful, so serene. Then Dragonite comes along and slaps me in the face... Thank God for Eviolites.) 7. Gallade (In Pokemon Platinum I used a Gardevoir and Gallade in Double Battles, and they KICKED ASS. GALLADE SPECIFICALLY.) 6. Vaporeon & Flareon (I just didn't know which to pick in Firered. So I took my Eevee and forced it to have nasty ass lovings with my Ditto. Bam, I had two Eevees. I didn't know what the hell natures were for back then, I thought they were purely cosmetic aspects of the game, so I just gave those two Eevees Water and Fire Stones, respectively. Vaporeon was a great tank, and I still don't understand what's so bad about Flareon. It proved a damn fine Charizard replacement for me. Vaporeon, Flareon, I'll always give you two the love you deserve.) 5. Muk (Who cares that is just a blob? I certainly don't a give shit. It's got amazing Defence, and you can elevate it even further with good ol' Acid Armor. Combine that with Sludge Wave and Minimize and you have the very incarnation of annoyance. And being an obnoxious prick is just how I like to battle. And that's why Muk will always have a place in my heart as that wonderfully beautiful clump of faecal matter.) 4. Sharpedo (Seven-Year-Old Me: "A shark Pokemon?! COOL!!") 3. Arbok (I don't care that Seviper and Serperior are better. This is the only Snake Pokemon for me. I will never forget why Arbok was so much more to me than just that sixth Pokemon I had for the sake of having a full team for the Pokemon League. Scenario: I'm seven and getting my ass whooped by Lance. He's got two Pokemon left, and all I got is Arbok. Agatha's already robbed me of nearly all my Revives, and Lance had finished then off. Arbok managed to bring a DRAGONITE AND AERODACTYL. Through a combination of Glare, Sludge Bomb and Hyper Beam *Dig contributed nothing*, ARBOK WON ME THAT BATTLE. It was close, but I managed to get out of it. I got my ass thrown on a platter immediately after though, since Lance had exhausted the last of my Revives, so it was a short-lived victory. But I will never forget Arbok's bravery and heroism in that hopeless moment.) 2.Gardevoir (I liked Team Charm in Mystery Dungeon 2. But I've loved Gardevoir since I first saw her in my brother's cartridge of Pokemon Ruby. My brother told me that he had this awesome Pokemon called "Gardevoir" and it was the final form of a Pokemon called "Ralts". I started a new game in Sapphire, and searched high and low for a Ralts, until at last I found one and caught it. It took days to just evolve it into a Kirlia, but it was worth it. By then, I'd completely given up on Treecko, so I'd actually released him and stuck with my Ralts, who I'd named Pearl. It did make my battles with Wally really f*cking awkward though, let me tell you. Pearl and I conquered Ever Grande City, and she became my second Pokemon to reach Level 100. And in my current playthrough of Alpha Sapphire, she lives on in the form of Pearl II.) 1. Marowak (Once upon a time, I was a stupid seven-year-old and I saw Pikachu's Vacation. I fell in love with Cubone, so I asked my brother to trade me one. He only had a Marowak, so he bred a Cubone egg and gave it to me in Pokemon Firered. I replaced my Squirtle with Cubone, and we completed our quest, and at the Pokemon League, it was Marowak who defeated Venusaur. His name was Skull *give my brother some slack, he was only 10* and though he's no longer with us, he was the first Pokemon I ever raised to Level 100. Skull, I love you, and I sure do miss you. Your actions were an inspiration to me. Seriously, I was a really stupid kid so I asked my mother if I could put a skull on my head.)
YouKilled Kenny Sadly, Skull is no longer with us. He perished an awful accident. I had been working with the Pal Park in Pokemon Diamond, migrating Pokemon. Then, it happened. I was migrating Pokemon, in Pal Park. I also happened to be on public transport on my way home from school. Just when I was just about to finish up, I took a fall and dropped my DS. The DS was okay, just a few scratchs. But when I hastily ejected the Diamond cartridge to see if everything was okay, I set eyes upon the most upsetting sight of my life. My cartridge had a crack, right down the centre. The game wouldn't reboot. I hastily checked Firered. Skull wasn't there either. He had fallen into the Abyss, the purgatory between generations, never to return. Though Skull may be gone, he shall live on forever in my heart.
Vlinx Ganrell Gabite is the perfect one of the Sinnoh dragons. Gible is too small and a little weak, while Garchomp is too overused by other trainers, along with Lucario. Every time I battle online, A trainer always has a Garchomp in it's party...WITH A MEGA STONE. 😑

Yeah. It's just a freaking dragon. How ordinary I mean really! There are many other actual dragon types! He may get a dragon type in his mega form but mega X FRICKING SUCKS!! And how come he gets 2?! I mean yes, mewtwo gets 2 but I can understand that. But Charizard is so ordinary! He's not even a real dragon type! He's just an imposter.
Angelina Woods I love Dragons but fucking hate Charizard. My fave types are Ice, Dark and Dragon. And that says everything about Pokemon I like. I like dark and creative Pokemon with complex designs. And Charizard is the opposite of that. It is bright, and I hate bright colors, it just comes of as a poser on its artwork, but my biggest issue is its design. It is just a dragon. Period. Nothing else. Nothing cool or particularly creative about it. It's the first thing that would come into anyone's mind when you tell him to think of a dragon. It's like they were in a hurry and didn't draw the final evolution of the Fire-Type starter yet so they just were drawing a dragon in ten seconds. He's so uncreative, I consider Charizard to have the second worst design ever. Also, he got TWO MEGAS. Venusaur and Blastoise? Fuck them. They only get one. But then the X form came along, he became more creative, his colours are not that bright anymore, it's his chance to finally look cool, and then he gets those ridicolous wings and a flying style that makes him look like a balloon. Charizard got the chance to look cool and it got ruined. Good job, Gamefreak. And Mega Y is even worse, he looks like someone cut his wings with a baby-scissor. You know, those things you can't effectively cut anything but paper with.
I get why a lot of people dislike Vinilluxe, I used to dislike him also but then one day I had a dream(true story) where I was protecting a city from a bunch of shit and my only weapon was duel wielding a vanilluxe and slaughtering everything in my path, when I woke up I had a respect for vanilluxe
I just don't get dragonite. It starts out as this pokemon that has an air of elegance to it. It becomes even more elegant when it evolves into dragonair. You'd think they'd keep that up with Dragonite. But no. Instead you get Barney's whimsical cousin.

Umm, you know Missingno doesn't harm your save file, right? The only real permanent damage he does is your hall of fame. He may cause some graphical glitches but these can be remedied simply by viewing a normal pokemon's stats. Your save file would have died because the internal battery died, which sadly happened to a lot of people (including me) and they blamed it on Missingno. Missingno is an error handler, so he's there to STOP your game from being fucked up when you abuse the game's mechanics. Although, Ketsuban on the other hand...
I like the badass names you give your pokemon. I pretty much always use the names of Harry Potter characters; Prongs (Sawsbuck, Xerneas), Scabbers (Raticate), Moony (Absol), Charlie (Charizard, Salamence), Fluffy (Houndoom), etc. Can't get enough of it:)

My first ever Pokémon was torchic. Blaziken was my first true badass carrying me through the elite four. Combuskins double kick also slaughtered the first gym leader sooo..yeah that's why he's my favorite. Also blaze kick.....need I say more?

My 10 favorite, with brief explanations: 10) Ninetales - Predominantly for nostalgic reasons (such as being the MVP of my original Blue team back in 1999), but having gotten Drought in Gen 5 cemented it in my Top 10. 9) Dragalge - The first Gen 6 Pokemon I took a true shine to thanks to its signature Poison/Dragon typing and Adaptability-boosted Draco Meteor. 8) Chandelure - My favorite inanimate object Pokemon, especially because of its Ghost/Fire typing and gargantuan Special Attack. 7) Garchomp - For the same reasons you love Salamence plus it's a desert hammerhead shark. 6) Hydreigon - Like Garchomp, a powerhouse in battle, but also gets bonus points for having a signature typing, being a Special Attacker and a more original design (Sharpedo was the original shark Pokemon, after all). 5) Sceptile - The first starter I really enjoyed using in battle, and its mega evolution in ORAS makes me love it even more, even if it isn't the best it could've been. 4) Krookodile - Badass design, Moxie Ability, respectable stats and movepool, and an awesome signature Ground/Dark typing. 3) Serperior - Contrary + Leaf Storm = Awesome. And swell design, too. 2) Umbreon - Always been one of my favorites, particularly as a supporting Pokemon for the rest of my team. Not uncommon for my team to be Umbreon + five attackers, and while maybe not the most ideal team layout, still gets the job done plenty of times, both in-game and competitively. 1) Volcarona - It's a special attacker with a signature typing, an amazing movepool, and a gorgeous design. In other words, it's my favorite because it's all the things I love about most of the others on my list.

Mine is: 10) Bisharp: Awesome design and my 2 favourite types. 9) Snorlax: Fantastic tank and it was on my first team ever ( I really want a Mega Snorlax). 8) Greninja: One of the best designs and is a powerhouse. 7) Volcarona: Unique design and typing and really good pokemon in battle. 6) Scizor: Cool and simple desgin, awsome typing and technician. 5) Crobat: One of the biggest surprises of 2nd gen. and I really like to use it. 4) Metagross: Amazing design, really balanced stats and I used it to rekt the Battle Frontier in Emerald. 3) Swampert: Really good typing, nice desgin, first starter in 3rd gen., also really balanced and like Metagross I used it in Battle Frontier. 2) Umbreon: Fantastic support, simple and awsome design and it was amazing in pokemon silver. It tanked everything Lance and Red throwed at my team (although it was a pain to evolve). 1) Charizard: My first pokemon ever , I had many awsome moments with it. Also it is a freaking dragon, a badass in the anime and Mega Y is a fantastic pokemon to use for sweeping ( I haven't used Mega X yet).
Ah, I remember my first pokemon. It was treecko. That was back in the days of "I got this one pokemon, let's over level it and wreck everything with that one." That strategy worked well until the 7th gym, oddly. It works better with mudkip.
Most of my favorites come from personal connection and experience rather than a Pokemon actually being really cool/amazing. Granted, Heracross, Alakzam, and Togekiss ARE really good, especially now that Togekiss has Fairy-type, and Lucario's always been legitimately cool and strong.
Honestly a great list and Blastoise made my list for same reason...well that and the fact its Mega Evolution is friggin amazing looking all hail Hulk Buster

I didn't know what the hell natures were for back then, I thought they were purely cosmetic aspects of the game, so I just gave those two Eevees Water and Fire Stones, respectively. Vaporeon was a great tank, and I still don't understand what's so bad about Flareon. It proved a damn fine Charizard replacement for me.

5. Muk (Who cares that is just a blob? I certainly don't a give shit. It's got amazing Defence, and you can elevate it even further with good ol' Acid Armor. Combine that with Sludge Wave and Minimize and you have the very incarnation of annoyance.
And being an obnoxious prick is just how I like to battle. And that's why Muk will always have a place in my heart as that wonderfully beautiful clump of faecal matter.)
4. Sharpedo (Seven-Year-Old Me: "A shark Pokemon?! COOL!!")
3. Arbok (I don't care that Seviper and Serperior are better. This is the only Snake Pokemon for me.
I will never forget why Arbok was so much more to me than just that sixth Pokemon I had for the sake of having a full team for the Pokemon League.
Scenario: I'm seven and getting my ass whooped by Lance. He's got two Pokemon left, and all I got is Arbok. Agatha's already robbed me of nearly all my Revives, and Lance had finished then off. Arbok managed to bring a DRAGONITE AND AERODACTYL. Through a combination of Glare, Sludge Bomb and Hyper Beam *Dig contributed nothing*, ARBOK WON ME THAT BATTLE. It was close, but I managed to get out of it.
I got my ass thrown on a platter immediately after though, since Lance had exhausted the last of my Revives, so it was a short-lived victory.
But I will never forget Arbok's bravery and heroism in that hopeless moment.)
2.Gardevoir (I liked Team Charm in Mystery Dungeon 2. But I've loved Gardevoir since I first saw her in my brother's cartridge of Pokemon Ruby. My brother told me that he had this awesome Pokemon called "Gardevoir" and it was the final form of a Pokemon called "Ralts". I started a new game in Sapphire, and searched high and low for a Ralts, until at last I found one and caught it. It took days to just evolve it into a Kirlia, but it was worth it. By then, I'd completely given up on Treecko, so I'd actually released him and stuck with my Ralts, who I'd named Pearl. It did make my battles with Wally really f*cking awkward though, let me tell you.
Pearl and I conquered Ever Grande City, and she became my second Pokemon to reach Level 100.
And in my current playthrough of Alpha Sapphire, she lives on in the form of Pearl II.)
1. Marowak (Once upon a time, I was a stupid seven-year-old and I saw Pikachu's Vacation. I fell in love with Cubone, so I asked my brother to trade me one. He only had a Marowak, so he bred a Cubone egg and gave it to me in Pokemon Firered. I replaced my Squirtle with Cubone, and we completed our quest, and at the Pokemon League, it was Marowak who defeated Venusaur.
His name was Skull *give my brother some slack, he was only 10* and though he's no longer with us, he was the first Pokemon I ever raised to Level 100.
Skull, I love you, and I sure do miss you. Your actions were an inspiration to me. Seriously, I was a really stupid kid so I asked my mother if I could put a skull on my head.)

I was migrating Pokemon, in Pal Park. I also happened to be on public transport on my way home from school. Just when I was just about to finish up, I took a fall and dropped my DS.
The DS was okay, just a few scratchs. But when I hastily ejected the Diamond cartridge to see if everything was okay, I set eyes upon the most upsetting sight of my life.
My cartridge had a crack, right down the centre. The game wouldn't reboot.
I hastily checked Firered. Skull wasn't there either.
He had fallen into the Abyss, the purgatory between generations, never to return.
Though Skull may be gone, he shall live on forever in my heart.

I love Dragons but fucking hate Charizard. My fave types are Ice, Dark and Dragon. And that says everything about Pokemon I like. I like dark and creative Pokemon with complex designs. And Charizard is the opposite of that. It is bright, and I hate bright colors, it just comes of as a poser on its artwork, but my biggest issue is its design. It is just a dragon. Period. Nothing else. Nothing cool or particularly creative about it. It's the first thing that would come into anyone's mind when you tell him to think of a dragon. It's like they were in a hurry and didn't draw the final evolution of the Fire-Type starter yet so they just were drawing a dragon in ten seconds. He's so uncreative, I consider Charizard to have the second worst design ever.
Also, he got TWO MEGAS. Venusaur and Blastoise? Fuck them. They only get one. But then the X form came along, he became more creative, his colours are not that bright anymore, it's his chance to finally look cool, and then he gets those ridicolous wings and a flying style that makes him look like a balloon. Charizard got the chance to look cool and it got ruined. Good job, Gamefreak. And Mega Y is even worse, he looks like someone cut his wings with a baby-scissor. You know, those things you can't effectively cut anything but paper with.

I just don't get dragonite. It starts out as this pokemon that has an air of elegance to it. It becomes even more elegant when it evolves into dragonair. You'd think they'd keep that up with Dragonite. But no. Instead you get Barney's whimsical cousin.

Umm, you know Missingno doesn't harm your save file, right? The only real permanent damage he does is your hall of fame.
He may cause some graphical glitches but these can be remedied simply by viewing a normal pokemon's stats.
Your save file would have died because the internal battery died, which sadly happened to a lot of people (including me) and they blamed it on Missingno.
Missingno is an error handler, so he's there to STOP your game from being fucked up when you abuse the game's mechanics.
Although, Ketsuban on the other hand...

That missingno's cry is a Nidoran Male's cry. So your first ever Pokémon was corrupted... by a Nidoran in disguise. Seems legit.
My 10 favorite, with brief explanations:
10) Ninetales - Predominantly for nostalgic reasons (such as being the MVP of my original Blue team back in 1999), but having gotten Drought in Gen 5 cemented it in my Top 10.
9) Dragalge - The first Gen 6 Pokemon I took a true shine to thanks to its signature Poison/Dragon typing and Adaptability-boosted Draco Meteor.
8) Chandelure - My favorite inanimate object Pokemon, especially because of its Ghost/Fire typing and gargantuan Special Attack.
7) Garchomp - For the same reasons you love Salamence plus it's a desert hammerhead shark.
6) Hydreigon - Like Garchomp, a powerhouse in battle, but also gets bonus points for having a signature typing, being a Special Attacker and a more original design (Sharpedo was the original shark Pokemon, after all).
5) Sceptile - The first starter I really enjoyed using in battle, and its mega evolution in ORAS makes me love it even more, even if it isn't the best it could've been.
4) Krookodile - Badass design, Moxie Ability, respectable stats and movepool, and an awesome signature Ground/Dark typing.
3) Serperior - Contrary + Leaf Storm = Awesome. And swell design, too.
2) Umbreon - Always been one of my favorites, particularly as a supporting Pokemon for the rest of my team. Not uncommon for my team to be Umbreon + five attackers, and while maybe not the most ideal team layout, still gets the job done plenty of times, both in-game and competitively.
1) Volcarona - It's a special attacker with a signature typing, an amazing movepool, and a gorgeous design. In other words, it's my favorite because it's all the things I love about most of the others on my list.

2) Umbreon: Fantastic support, simple and awsome design and it was amazing in pokemon silver. It tanked everything Lance and Red throwed at my team (although it was a pain to evolve).
1) Charizard: My first pokemon ever , I had many awsome moments with it. Also it is a freaking dragon, a badass in the anime and Mega Y is a fantastic pokemon to use for sweeping ( I haven't used Mega X yet).
Ah, I remember my first pokemon. It was treecko. That was back in the days of "I got this one pokemon, let's over level it and wreck everything with that one."
That strategy worked well until the 7th gym, oddly. It works better with mudkip.

Most of my favorites come from personal connection and experience rather than a Pokemon actually being really cool/amazing.
Granted, Heracross, Alakzam, and Togekiss ARE really good, especially now that Togekiss has Fairy-type, and Lucario's always been legitimately cool and strong.

Why is a choice banded scissor good? It ups attack and only allows to use one kind of move like one move per battle? Or one type of move?
