I remember the original manual which came with SC1 showed a pylon powering multiple buildings saying "This is bad" and it also showed a column of pylons with buildings on either side of it saying "This is good" so really Artosis had no excuse.
What makes the Artosis pylon so funny is how personally he took it. It just cracks me up that he actually felt it was a mark of shame, because that's how seriously he takes the game. I mean, I get it--he was a pro, and prides himself on his skill to some extent. But still... I'd love to have a pylon named after me. 🤣
I love the fact that of all the people, IdrA was the one inventing the term. He unironically was less saulty about loosing to a mirage army than artosis was for a while about that pylon.

actually the most amazing part in this vid for me was how Leenock's Zergling assault continued relentlessly on for like a minute and a half. Like... just HOW MANY ZERGLINGS WERE THOSE? :O They just didn't die, man... :O

I think Artosis fighting it at first may have cemented the term forever. Although I do like terms like that. Like in AoE where we have the DauT castle. Dude is still an amazing player, even if there the term is definitely not comming from a one off occurance.

Ive seen Artosis cry on stream just because of the sheer stress of the game. He's got so much passion and just goes so hard... He actually cried on stream cuz the game wasn't going the way he wanted. Not like weeping but like welling up and voice breaking lol
I knew about the Artosis Pylon, but I feel out of SC2 a long time ago. Seeing the Tasteless Plyon to back it up was so damn wholesome. So is there any official way to use "Tasteless Pylon"? Does it just mean any back up Pylon, or does it refer to when an Artosis Pylon has another Pylon come up just in time to keep structures powered?
I think it's any pylon that was placed for the sole purpose of providing backup power to buildings Example: 4 gates are powered by an artosis pylon. You place another pylon next to all of those - that's the tasteless pylon
I remember he was talking about that kind of pylon before his incident. If my memory serves me well he invented the term one day, when he said something like "let's call this Artosis pylon" trying to explain the significance of this danger, during a casting. That's probably why Idra used the term. The fact that he did the same mistake it's pure irony.
Really, even if it came about as a mistake (and probably an embarrassing one) Artosis now has an impact in the game and franchise that no other player or caster will have. Way down the road whenever SC3 happens, it’s still probably going to be called an artosis pylon. With how long he and Tasteless were a centeral pillar of the StarCraft pro scene, I like that they have their names immortalized in the games lingo.
I remember a clip of Day9 talking about the opposite of an artosis pylon being a *tournament name* pylon, and then dying of laughter. But I can't find it anywhere.
I really like your videos. But I would like to make a small remark for potentially some improment: Much of your content is SC2 related, so its somewhat fine, but if you should diversify more regarding the games, i would suggest a bit more explaination what certain things mean. When you talk about not warping in units without a pylon that might be a bit tricky to understand for people that do not know the game. Nothing major, just a suggestion to keep in mind if you want to cover more games that not everyone knows that game mechanics and expressions.
Do one for mvp. Trying to remember other notable happenings in sc2 and other memes. Incontrol and DTs. The whole Mia rose pornstar saga lmao. Thinking back now sc2 scene was wild at times.
