This was written by Tim and the man who hired him to move to CA and write songs. And Austin has said multiple times that when he listened to Tim's solo CD after HF left the cruise ship, that this was the song that made him go, "I have to write with that guy". It has had a variety of lives - first on Tim's solo CD, then as a HF song, the last couple years as a Sweet & Low song - notably sung with a different arrangement, by Jeffrey East, and now it has been re-done on HF's newest album. I hear a teaser of it yesterday and now I can't wait for my CD to arrive!!! Tim and Jenika were lucky - she was working for HF as 'tour mother', so she traveled with the group as, occasionally, did Sami for a while before Covid. Tour bus life doesn't allow for much romancing, though. The word you are looking for is "Cry" in his voice. Tim was doing the bass as well as the lead on the recording. On stage Chris did the bass (baritone), but for the record Darren used Tim because his voice was stronger. Everything Will Be OK is the song at the end and is also on their new album.
This off his album The best I can do that I perched from a guy selling CD's from his trunk at the Publics super market back in the 90's this is how I found Home Free.
I pair "I've Seen" with "Life is a Highway" for their respective videos. They both talk about being on the road and how that life affects a musician's relationships. They also show off the capabilities of the band really well.
Chris can bass he just feels he's not as consistent as Tim is . This was Tim's song on his solo album before joining HF. As Chris tells it when they were trying to get Tim as a Bass for at least their first tour they sweetened the request by offering to promote His Country album and learn one of the songs to perform with him in the show. I think this may have been the song choice or Champaign Taste was.
Great song! The song at the end is Everything will Be OK, you have to do it! It id]s soooo adorable, you will LOVE it, I know you will!!❤❤❤❤ Thanks DJ for all of your great reactions!!❤❤
Love Tim's deep growl on "myself", mmmm 😍😍. This is a great arrangement of this song. You are a strong person to live in the moment of your feelings and emotions and deal with them as they come. Ride them out, acknowledge and deal with whatever it is that is making you feel those feelings. Once you have reached the apex of that emotion then you can push forward and move on. You seem to be a joyous person naturally and I would bet it's because you deal with your emotions, good or bad, in a healthy way. Keep up the good work and we love your reactions to these songs. Thank you.
This is such a great original song from Tim's solo album before joining Home Free called "The Best That I Could Do". I have that cd & also Tim's new doo-wop album "Pieces Of Me".
You’re right on 2 fronts…This was written by Tim before he was part of HF, so they had him sing it. They didn’t start including all or most of the group until Chance came on board. Prior to Chance, it was usually Austin or Rob leads with an occasional Tim lead (and a handful of Chris leads). Also, Tim is doing the bass. Before Chance they would layer Tim on bass for the studio recordings. However, Chris would sing bass for the Tim leads while touring. Either way, it was impressive as you said. 🎼😍👍👏
Just an FYI…this song as well as the outro song “Everything will be okay” are also on HF’s new album “Crazy(er) Life”. They are rereleasing the songs from their first album after the “Sing-Off” (just like they did with “As Seen on TV”). They already have released 3 new videos from that album.
I really love Tim's version of this on his album when he did this solo. I love me some Home Free, but I like Tim's solo version better. There, I said it. I'm sorry, Home Fries, but I just really loved his version on his album better than this one, but I still love this version, too. And Home Free is everything to me.
I agree. Tim's version on his album knows me over. I play that entire album a lot when I'm out and about doing errands. Tim's voice at that time was just WOW!
Almost always, on the studio versions, they doubletrack Tim, but Chris would cover the bass when they did live versions. They have a new version of this on the album that's coming out on Friday. It's fabulous.
There is a live (impromptu?) version recorded on the red carpet the first night of the Sing Off. I think the You Tube channel is Synergy or something. Lovely version with Chris singing some of the lead.
Thank you Judy for this request. I hadn't heard this version, like I said in the chat, I'd only heard the solo version by Tim and this version is equally brilliant! So thank you for sharing another song I can put onto playlists!
Tim did the bass & singing. Layered music my friend. There are a number of songs, mostly pre-Chance where Tim is singing & does bass. Chris Rupp was OK at back up bass, but sometimes you need a little bit more Tim in your life haha.
The bass was either him (recorded separately) or Chris did the bass which he could do. It’s pretty. Don’t know much about that song though. Good one! 😃😍
I haven't listened to this song in a long time. It was cool to see all the different clips of HF on tour after The Sing-Off. And there are a few rare songs that's just one on lead. (I Can't Outrun You by Chance, When A Man Loves A Woman by Austin.) Thanks for reacting to it!
In concert Chris sang most of the lead on this song and Tim covered the bass. Here’s a live version with Chris on lead. ua-cam.com/video/GiGdthpNGKc/v-deo.htmlsi=Vs9URDy8rp_rwc0Z This is from their album Live from the Road (with Matt Atwood instead of Austin) ua-cam.com/video/3SAH5CIsUWo/v-deo.htmlsi=KzdhW1COWedr6z0R
This was written while Tim was writing music for someone in California. It is on his first solo album, The Best I Could Do.

OMG....one of my all time favorites from Home Free. Tim helped write it and boy! Does he ever sing it!
Home Free is a warm hug from a loved one
Tim is so good. He is not only a beautiful singer and song writer. This song gets me in the feels. Love your reaction! ♥
Tim does the bass in the recorded version here and Chris did it in the live versions
Absolutely one of my all time favorite songs!
Isn't it just amazing, Nanadeborah?
Heartfelt-- sung by Tim! Beautifully!

I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it.

The video at the end is "Everything Will Be Okay" and that is definitely a *can't miss* video❣️
The re-recording is also in their new album coming out on Friday. Maybe a double reaction would be good.

Thanks DJ for all of your great reactions!!❤❤
Tim Foust can do no wrong. Thank you.
You need to hear Tims album, The Best That I Can Do.

Home Free consistently shows tremendous respect for their source material. It’s one of their most endearing qualities.

PS - Austin did "Hers Aint Mine" and Tim did "I've Seen." No disrespect," as my teenaged kids say :)
I think he was probably thinking about Champagne Taste
They have done a remake of this on their new CD Crazyer Life coming out soon, this time with Chance instead of Chris.
I think the clip at the end is "Everything Will Be Okay" and it's a great choice!
Yes you are right about the video at the end
Thanks DJ! This is one that is often overlooked! #HomeFree never disappoints!
#HOMEFREE.....the best!
Chris ruff often did the bass line while tim was singing

For this song Chris sang the lead and Tim did the bass in concert.
There is a live (impromptu?) version recorded on the red carpet the first night of the Sing Off. I think the You Tube channel is Synergy or something. Lovely version with Chris singing some of the lead.
For me is the best version of the song on the red carpet of Sung off ❤
Thank you Judy for this request. I hadn't heard this version, like I said in the chat, I'd only heard the solo version by Tim and this version is equally brilliant! So thank you for sharing another song I can put onto playlists!
They layered Tim’s voice in the recording. Great reaction DJ❤
Thanks 😊
Love love love ❤❤❤❤
❤
Absolutely perfect.

Chris did base when Tim sang.
ONE FOR THE ALGORITHM. CHEERS!!

I feel like this song perfectly sums up how austin is feeling and why he made the difficult decision he made to spend more time with Amberly.
There will be a redone version soon. Their new album Crazyer Life comes out in about a week and I've Seen is on it.
It was Chris I think
There's a newer version...
