I love both versions of this song. This has been in my top 3 Home Free songs for years. There's just something about it that hits perfectly. I hate that you hadn't heard the original before., mainly because you've missed such a great song.
Wonderful music to listen to. There is no need for an extensive video, the voices do the work that I enjoy so much. I really appreciate the originals. Here Tim shows again how good he is at writing songs (together with others) and singing. That together with the background vocals is perfect for me. I just need Home Free every day to start and end the day😉

I've loved this song from the first time I heard it. You'll enjoy their earlier video of it, which shows a lot of scenes from their time on the road, doing it live, and it has a beautiful high chorus in the background with Austin (and Rob?) singing "I've seen rain...." They perform the song a lot in their "side shows," Tim Foust & Friends, Sweet and Low, etc., with Tim playing the piano. I think he first recorded it on his 2010 album.
So good. I’m glad they’re re - releasing it. Those harmonies are so good and Tim sounds great. Loved Adam too and Chance doing some of the bass. Pretty song!😄🤩
I don't hear a lot of difference between this recording and the first one - a bit richer, maybe, the beatboxing is changed a little bit, and the addition of the full harmony in the last verse. Tim double tracked the lead and the bass on the 2015 one, so having Chance available this time was a nice touch. Tim wrote a great song - one that nearly any touring musician would understand, and the guys harmonies do the rest of the heavy work. Tim also recorded this on his 2010 solo album, with instruments, and Sweet & Low did it, too - with Jeffrey East taking the lead and a slightly different arrangement. Austin has said that this was the song off Tim's cd that told him he wanted to write with Tim someday.
This new version seems much fuller. I don't know if it's just a different mix, or if they doubletracked some of the backing vocals, but this just wowed me the first time I heard it.
I absolutely love both of them for different reasons.The new version has so much more bass. I love that the original version seems a lot more light. I love how simple yet beautiful the song is. I always truly enjoy watching your reaction to these guys.
I found out since posting this. On the Crazy Life album, there was a lyric video for this song. There were several tracks on that album that didn't have videos. Jump Right In was one without a video
Benson Boone just released the album Fireworks and Rollerblades and every song in that album is OUTSTANDING!!! I would love to watch your reaction to a few (if not all) of them!!
Another Home Free original that absolutely baffles me that it is not on the radio!! Tim sounds so good on this, his vibrato is gorgeous!
