Sadly, a few months ago, Istanbul explosion rocked the city which devastated Taksim Square which is a tourist hotspot and this how Taksim looked like in August in peak tourist season.
I travelled and saw Istanbul on my own and created an Istanbul Travel Guide for you to help plan your Turkey travel itinerary but you can also go with group tours.
Moreover, can also take Istanbul tourist pass or Istanbul Museum pass which offer discounted tickets to all these places. So take these Istanbul tourist tips and plan your trip in the best way possible.
What will you find in this Turkey Travel Guide?
- Things to do in Istanbul
- Common tourist scams in Istanbul, Turkey
- Istanbul travel guide
- How to Travel in Istanbul
- Detailed travel guide of Sultanahmet, Istanbul including Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, and all of the old city of Istanbul.
Travel with me to Turkey in August and watch it in all its glory!

How was your stay at Burckin Suleymaniye..i was planning to book this hotel.
@@ARUN5583 it was pretty good. The location is fabulous
Did the hotel allowed you to keep your bags with them?? Is it safe to keep the bags with the hotel??
EXCELLENT vlog. One of the very best I've seen, super informative - and I've been watching a lot of vlogs in preparation for my upcoming trip to Istanbul.
I am so glad you find it helpful. ❤️
planning to visit Turkey this summer and am binging on your playlist. very well edited.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I so appreciate your level of detail for every place. Thank you!
I am so glad ❤️
Excellent...I really love Istanbul. I hv visited thrice and again vl visit in October 24. U u described v well.

According to the consulate for those from the US a visa is not required. Posting this for some of your viewers. Thank you for your video I very much enjoyed it!
Thanks for the info!
Incredible awesome beautiful wonderful resilient evergreen amazing Turkey and it's beautiful people from Pakistan 🙂🇵🇰🇹🇷🥰😍
Beautiful sharing
Thank you so much!
I’m going to travel to Istanbul soon, loved your video ❤
I came 1st of January and planning to goto visit this place tomorrow.
Amazing!
can you tell me where to go in istanbul im going next month
@@joannesales2027 😭 I cancelled my trip
I wish you went to the Istanbul archeology museum as well. One of the best museums of Turkey is that one and yet tourists are oblivious to its existence
Reason to visit again
I will visit Istanbul mainly for the archeological museum.🙅🏼♀️
Lovely video....one part I loved, when you said 'Kaisa he'. Regards x
Aw thanks! Glad you liked it 😃
thanks for this very informative vlog.. Planning our trip there and this helped a lot ❤
Yay! Amazing 😻
You’ll love it. I have a few more such vlogs about Turkey that you can watch which are in a similar format. Let me know if you have any questions.
Very informative vlog and very helpful.
Thanks!!
Great Vlog!!
Hey thanks!
Very beautiful sharing 👍😊
Thanks!
Wrap was really very expensive. I have been in Istanbul 2 times, first time we have been scammed with food, they charged a lot to us. Now again we will go in November and will check carefully prices before ordering the stuff. Love and wishes from Manchester
Yeah we learn from such experiences. I hope you have a great time in Turkiye!! Lots of love ❤️
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thank you so much. Regards
Loved your Video, very natural
Thank you so much! 🥰
Very informative
Thanks!
We love this country
It’s amazing 😻
Subscribed ❤️ Awesome 😊
Thanks!
Passengers always pay tolls. The price you pay is correct. I think the taxi driver used the newly built expensive road route to be faster. If he used the cheap road, you could wait on the road for an average of 3 hours.
Umm I think that should be mentioned before and not charged way over the toll prices.
@@Whatsnextakanksha There are 3 different highways in Istanbul. You probably went the best way. This road is completely run by private companies and they charge a toll in usd. Its pricing is entirely in the hands of the company owners 😭
Nice Video ❤
Thanks!!
Wow beautiful vlog 😍
In which month you travelled?
Thanks a ton! I went in August.
Very insightful video! Loved it!
Btw, why didn't y'all use metro or bus to reach the Sabiha Airport from Taksim? It would cost y'all only 45-50 liras per person and y'all would reach in 1.5 hours
Did y'all buy the IstanbulKart?
Taksim to Karakoy (M2 metro)
Karakoy to Kadikoy (Ferry)
Kadikoy to Sabiha (M4 Metro)
Thanks a ton! We did buy Istanbulkart but honestly didn’t come to mind using the public transport option. I’ll remember this for next time.
“I cannot believe I paid 10tl for this” 10tl is less than a dollar and is actually the price everyone pays in Turkey given currency rates
Yes that was my surprise to the cheap price.
I don't think she meant it is expensive. She means to say she can't believe how cheap this is
Where did you buy a sim from? And how much was it? Did you need any papers for it
From a mobile phone shop in Sultanahmet. Needed to show my passport, that’s it.
Do you recommend taking a guided tour for Hagia Sophia to experience it better?
If you are interested to know more about the history, why not. There are audio guides too.
Unfortunately, the taxi drivers in turkey are the worst. They have a very strong union and do whatever they want! Believe me… We, Turkish people, are also scammed by these horrid taxi drivers.
These scams are everywhere and unfortunate 😢
But I still loved my time in Turkey!
You recommend to live in Sultanahmet or Taksim (the newer area)?
You can stay at either of the two places, they are veryyy close. I divided my 6 days in each area, liked both equally.
Watch my next vlog, you’ll see Taksim.
What is the best area to stay for the solo female traveler
Either Taksim or Sultanahmet. Both are very touristy and safe in general. Taksim is more convenient though
Are Ubers allowed in Turkey now? Because when I went there, back in 2020 they were forbidden ..
Yeah you can use the app now. Although, it’s operated by the local taxis only.
Hey I am planning next month, is it good time to visit
Yep
So in order to avoid scammed, how should i book taxi there? Use apps?
It’s hard not to get scammed there by taxis. Uber is slightly better but it’s the same people driving.
I never rush when travel so go for longer or jump in taxi
Some places hidden
That’s amazing!
Hey what time of the year did u travel to Istanbul????
August 2022 :)
Beautiful and informative video.
How shud we take money for expenditure in Istanbul?
Do the hotels and retailers accept SBI Card Or US dollar..?
Can SBI card work there?
what's the best way?
Thanks! I took cash and got it exchanged from Grand Bazar in Istanbul. But card also works just make sure you have low International transaction fee or else it will end up being more expensive.
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thanks a lot for valuable information.
By cash,u mean I can carry indian rupee and convert it into Lira or dollar, right?
I need to stay near Kadikoy, Sukru stadium.
@@ShakirShakir-yf7ge yes you can do that 😊
Instead of usd convert into euro. Euro is more widely accepted.
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thanks a lot.
hv booked ticket for july
@@Whatsnextakanksha If u get time please let me know how to proceed for Visa. Shud I do it myself through globe online or take help of an agent
How can we travel in Istanbul for a family with kids ? Please advise
Very easy. It’s a family friendly destination
@@Whatsnextakanksha I meant mode of transportation, taxi / Uber / public transportation? What do you recommend?
@@samramirza5352 ohh sorry! Book Ubers, they’re cheap.
But trains are also good if you need to use them. Family friendly too :)
Poor your partner following you with camera all day 😅😅
😂😂 he signed up for this
Which is the best place to buy ceramics??
I didn’t get any but there were a lot of shops outside of Grand Bazaar who sell for half the price or even in Taksim.
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thank you so much. So nice of you that you not only give useful information but also beautiful replies. Thank you 🙏 🙏🙏🙏
I hv low budget, can i get hotels in Kadikoy, stadium area?
You can find low budget hotels near taksim and Sultanahmet area also. The further you will be the more you’ll be spending on taxis and transportation
did u take any of the tourist passes they offer
No I didn’t but it’s a great deal if you plan to visit multiple museums and tourist attractions that are included in the pass. I wasn’t going to many so it didn’t make sense for me.
How much did you spend on average?
I spent $1334 AUD for 10 days.
Omg ,the taxi scams are dangerous.
Yes, unfortunately. 😞
Be careful
Where did you stay please mention !

Hi mam is it safe to travel alone with a4 year kid
Absolutely! Turkey is very safe. Just beware of scams and get yourself acquainted with what generally happens so you can avoid them.
Hi, i had a small query. Were those doners chicken ?
Hi! I eat both beef and chicken so I got beef donors but there are chicken alternatives everywhere too. :)
@@Whatsnextakanksha okay thanks a lot akanksha. Your video seems very helpful. Will definitely check out some of these places. These are mainly on the European side right?
@@arshiyatriestobuildhabits yeah all of them are on the European side

Hi ank I lu
breakfast looked literal garbage you get same breakfast in good hotels in india. No local cuisine
Every country has different styles of breakfast. If you don’t like it, you can always go somewhere else
Typical Indian mentality. Checking meter 😅 What’s wrong if u give him some extra money? Here he was trying to make u reach there faster by taking longer route.
Yeah I am Indian so I will have Indian mentality 😊
I have no issues with giving someone extra money, I do it a lot of times in the form of tips but scamming someone out of money is a big no no. You can call me whatever you like but I don’t support scamming people for money. ✌🏼
