I'm 75 and have been retired from auto bodywork for 5 years now. In the past I've done wrecks like this and worse. But ... I'm so happy I had a proper motor hoist, a Chief Easy Liner frame machine, a MIG welder, a nice Oxy acetylene gas torch, hydraulic and electric cutoff and power tools, and even a decent pair of gloves to do all of my work with. Still, even with the minor problems I noticed, I am impressed with this brute force repair.
I’m 80+ and just had to get on here for exactly the same motivation you presented! Astounding how these workers can do what they do without $10k worth of tools and equipment! Additionally, taking it apart and getting it all wired and back to get her correctly is a real achievement. I’ve done all my personal auto repairs and other repaired since I took apart and put back a Holly 4 barrel carburetor at age about 10. I don’t trust anyone to do what I can do myself with a bit of effort and time. Seems when I think a pro can do better, he usually does something wrong and thinks I’ll not know: missing screws, wiring not secured, not torqued, good parts replaced cause he wasn’t sure of the actual cause . These guys are an inspiration and a catalyst for thought about whats really possible!
Your experience and dedication to quality craftsmanship are truly inspiring! With all the tools and expertise you had, what was the most challenging repair job you ever tackled, and how did you overcome it? 💁♀
Well, when I was an apprentice motor mechanic in the 1960s there was a body shop attached and the approach to repair badly damaged vehicles was very different than shown in this video. Proper jigs were used where appropriate. Spot welds were drilled out, not the panels levered off with brute force. It was much more professionally done than shown here. I watched this video with horror.
@@SuperLittleTyke Well, maybe I'm one of those rare ones that learned how to do everything with nothing. It did help me a lot to later on become the owner of 3 auto body shops in Los Angele, Ca... That experience didn't gave me any horror and I'm very glad, thank God, that I started from nothing. It made me a humble person for rest of my life... Don't take life so seriously... You'll never get out alive.
Unbelievable and amazing. Imagine if they had latest tools and facilities, They have rebuilt car without any manual or drawings. No power tools, No safety equipment. Mind blowing, 👍👍👍
@ You will be surprised how many such cars are being driven in these countries. Surely It is unsafe but these people don’t care much. I admire their technical skills.
Gooder as new & comfy as a camel on a freshly piled sand dune. It's a shame all the electronics under the bonnet got crunched & it'll never run again. Better than no house.
Yeah that's fixable. I saw a guy take a car like that and cut all the spot welds up to the fire wall. Then he got an undamaged front end of a rear ended car and welded the front on the car. He had it up and stands and holes in the floors with chains attached that kept the frame in alignment while he mig welded it all back together. He cleaned the metal, sealed the seam and painted the front frame. He put it all back together and you couldn't tell it had ever been in a wreck. The car was an amazing piece of art when he got done. Watching some the other day in a recycling plant....no shoes, sandals, nothin'. Big metal trap type doors set down w chains get pushed in place, plastic shards all sorts of crap.
Where they’re from they repair everything and make things from raw materials this wouldn’t fly in the west but what they do where they are they’re probably among the best.
don't know for sure about Pakistan but in some Asian nations specific Toyota models are prolific, maybe in some areas 4 out of 10 vehicles are that model...
Nowadays even a simple dent scratch replace whole new panel 😢 no need skills, just parts replacement. I love and can feel for those skilled & hard working people in video. Reminds me of my days in 1960s as an apprentice (like those young chap and yes only wear sandles, no shoes) doing almost all what I see in the video. ❤👏👍 thank you.
Original car built to sub millimetre tolerances....repair probably to the nearest inch!! This does not though deter from the effort and skill of these men bearing in mind the tools available, the total lack of safety protection and no doubt a pitiful pay packet...well done!!
Salute to their hard work , im sure they can afford a pair of gloves & safety shoes but its the whole work environment they are used to & developed these habits . They are experts in job . Seen videos from Pakistan where they convert land cruisers & mercedes s class to 20 years newer models with the conversion kits
My advice to you is to watch a video on how to dismantle a wrecked vehicle. Arthur Tussik, watch this man's videos. You are not dismantling cars, you are working as if you have declared war on cars.
Wow! Brilliant! Interesting how poverty sustains such sustainable (!) behaviour! Perhaps we in rich countries need to become a bit less wealthy to realize the value of mending instead of throwing away. Pity that it has to come to that, because actually we should be mending in the interests of the ENVIRONMENT, not in the interests of our pocket book... however, if the ends are good, it matters less what the motivations are.

SAFETY SANDALS ARE A MUST.
When day turns 52 centigrade you rather be working with sandals
Steel toe sandals 😂
Lol 😂
Не битая, не крашеная
Practical and stylish-safety first with a touch of humor! What inspired the idea of safety sandals, and how well do they actually hold up in action?

If they get latest tools and new technology they become lazier people like the U S A workers 💯%

Они не знают что такое развал-схождение😂

Absolutely amazing work. However I do wonder about the strength of his welds.
No worries it's Toyota Yaris who drives it must not over speed.
Just because they got it back together does'nt mean it's any good, would you buy this car ?
No safety glasses, gloves these guys are legit
When our safety guy complains about no gloves while pushing a pallet jack, I think of videos like this😂

Nothing like a bit of flip flop technology 🫣🫣
I reported them to OSHA.
They feel uncomfortable wearing safety boots, as much as they feel free wearing sandals because of the hot climate and sweat.
Sorprendente ,pero lo que más me sorprende es el equipo de protección del personal sobre todo el calzado con casquillo invisible 😂😂
They don't give a fuck about most of that stuff yea as we'll as safety protection gear😂😂😂😂
