Geese are wonderful! You need to get them as goslings in general. Geese imprint on the first things they see. I hatched out 6 when i was in the 5th grade. They thought i was mom. I would take them swimming in the creek and to graze. Though I bought adults as well. African I have found to be very sweet. I had the show type in brown and buff. Trpe to get them as babies. They do get spicy when hatching season rolls around but I never ever got pinched or slap with a wing.

I think my beef with geese is from growing up and getting chased by wild Canadian geese 😂😂 I should give them another chance!

@@HomesteadingWithTony try to go with a gentle breed. Just like chickens and dogs and cats, bigger generally means more gentle. Market Africans are smaller than show birds and no dewlap but still sweet. There are also mini geese out there now. I believe Al's Quackery sells them along with Sebastopols, Ancona, Cool Muscovy colors and Calls . Great vid!

No one seems to have any Pilgrims or Dewlap Toulouse geese this year which is disappointing.

I know a few really big duck farms had to cull their entire flocks because of HPAI- wonder if that’s why you’re having trouble finding them

@@HomesteadingWithTony I'm sure it does. I know that Metzer lost a farm in California in December and other hatcheries may be helping them replace the lost stock. The big Dewlaps are hard to find and quite expensive if one does locate some. I just think they are neat looking and would like to have a couple of pairs.
