I got into collecting vintage ornaments because they remind me of the trees my grandmothers on both sides of the family used to put up every x-mas season. They were loaded with old ornaments with very vivid colors and patterns, especially the indented ornaments. The quality and attention to detail is second to none, and the newer stuff doesn't compare. The best part is, you can get a very sizeable collection going without breaking the bank, as lots of the old stuff is relatively affordable. So yes, a big motivator for my collection is to help me reminisce about those wonderful x-mas memories from my youth. Those times are long gone, sad to say, but the memories help keep them alive somehow. I also like to think of my collection as a way to honor the memories of my grandmothers too, as they both have long since left to be with the Lord. Oh, to be a child again and re-live those wonderful experiences!
Hi Lisa, amazing collection! Love your bell tree, fab idea.We lived in Germany for 2 years, dec 1984 from the UK. Whilst there I bought a glass tree topper with long spike, various decorations and a beautiful wooden musical carousel for my daughters first Christmas in 1985. All have survived and mean so much to us!
I believe the hand made silver metal stars around the 6:15 mark might actually go around the old c7 or c9 bulbs. They illuminate the lights beautifully. I have some from the 60s, but they’re mass produced. I love them. Wish I could insert a picture here. What a beautiful collection you have! Thanks for sharing!
If you ever noticed any of the glass ornaments with card board tops. Those were manufactured during the war when metal was not available. Or so my mother told us.
Thanks Christy, I have not seen any with cardboard tops. But I will look out for them. I am attracted to the multicolored or unusual shaped ones. Do you know if the ones you mention are simple balls? Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching my 2020 video! I have just published one for this year ua-cam.com/video/bDjI58XkhEI/v-deo.html and part 2 for 2021 will be published on Wednesday. I hope you will watch and comment on those too!
That is a one impressive collection!!! And the tree is just dreamy, with those lights !!!!!! Thank you for sharing this :) and Merry Christmas to everybody.
You have an amazing collection of vintage ornaments!! Love the kooky tree topper with the pipe cleaner! We don't actually have a topper - so my daughter made a star at school for our tree this year!
I love your collection! I just stumbled across that I lost my husband 14 months ago on my brother-in-law six months ago suddenly and I love Christmas and I wasn’t going to decorate this year but you know what you’re inspiring me I have some of those old ones in the boxes that I got in my early 20s when I was first married and I still have them and they’re just beautiful like you said with a little tissue paper in the box and I have some some like yours and you’re inspiring me now to decorate so thank you very much and I will subscribe and I said I have the same enthusiasm you do over these vintage Christmas things and I just got one of my aunts that passed away a couple years ago it’s at three leaf Lighted Holly and I think it could be from the 70s and then it’s got three berries in the middle and you put it in the window so that’s what I was trying to look up and then I stumbled onto you yay thank you
Hello Cathy, how nice of you to take the time to write and so glad I gave you a boost to decorate for this festive season again. I just uploaded the 2021 part 1 of our decorating this year. Please have a look! ua-cam.com/video/bDjI58XkhEI/v-deo.html All my condolences to you for your losses. It is so sad but nice to have memories that you keep near to your heart. Hugs, Lisa
Wow that is quite the ornament collection you have, so many gorgeous ones. Takes me back to my childhood "-) I was just on ebay checking prices and OMG they are wayyy out of my budget . I wanted to do a vintage tree this Xmas but now I don't know LOL way out of my budget
The best way is to find them at charity shops, flea markets, and garage sales. I don't look on ebay as they are soooo expensive. I usually pay next to nothing for mine.
I did buy a bigger tree to transfer them but in the end I left them as is. I like the look of it OTT. The tree with bells on is wrapped in bubble wrap and them in a plastic box with lid to avoid any accidents!
so cute, thank you for sharing your vintage Christmas decorations
Thanks for watching! Make sure to check out the couple other videos from my Christmas seasons too.

What do You do with this Christmas things? Do You have a museum? Incredible! I love Christmas decoration!
I wish I had a museum! When people enter my home, that is the first thing they say! If you are ever in the Geneva Switzerland area, let me know!
Don't forget to check out my other Christmas videos under my Collections Playlist.

I think the bell tree needs to be a little larger so these beautiful ornaments can be better displayed and avoid breakage.😅😮
I did buy a bigger tree to transfer them but in the end I left them as is. I like the look of it OTT. The tree with bells on is wrapped in bubble wrap and them in a plastic box with lid to avoid any accidents!
Order is very important
Yes, everything has its place!
Where can you find these vintage Christmas oriments?
I find them in charity shops, flea markets, and sometimes online.
tree looks great but needs to have white light strings on a white tree
I know. We can’t get them in Switzerland at the moment. Thanks for watching.
I just found some lights with a transparent wire so will be using this next time!
you live in a museum not a house haha
Yes, that is what a lot of people say when they enter! It is all curated the way I like.
