I guess you need to install a preheater first? Mine is a 2011 XC70 D5 without a pre-heater… Or is this about starting the car? What distance can you start the car from?

Can I buy a dongle and use for multiple cars if I just want a simple code scanner that understands Volvo codes? Or do I need a subscription still? Is it always bound to only one car?

YES! You can use one VDD on any amounth of Volvo cars! You can switch it into diagnostic mode and then you dont need to pair it with every car everytime you swap it.

Does the remote start need anything extra? Like wiring?
I have a 2019 V60 (EU Spec) without keyfob start. Can it be done with this?
Also parking heater was deactivated by Volvo with their app. Even if I try doing it through Sensus, it says "it encountered an issue"

for SPA and CMA is needed to add two extra wires into the OBD (in your eshop) d5t5.com/article/vdd-spa-cma-support If your car is configured from factory to start engine remotely, then you dont need anything else... otherwise is needed to change car configuration via one of ours dealers: d5t5.com/dealers/
But it is doable for all SPA/CMA! For example if your VCM unit dies and the VOC app does not work anymore, you can just add VDD with two wires and you dont need to buy new VCM unit!
