    Thanks for this. I have been needing rope halters for smaller sized horses, and I can now customize my halters for my small breed horses. Really helpful for me.

    These videos were incredibly helpful! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain everything in detail. I always thought making my own rope halter would be difficult, but actually seeing how it's done makes it seem so much more simple! And now I can get a much better fit for my horse. And thanks for talking slowly, makes everything easier to understand! I'm going out to buy some rope right now!

    Thank you for your easy to follow instructions. The white rope is easy to see against the black background, and you take your time,, speaking slowly and giving the student time to complete the step before moving on to the next.

    GREAT instructional video. Thank you very much. It is obvious you took great pains to pace this for learners, rather than for experts. THANK YOU. The audio instructions are very clear. The video is very unobtrusive and transparent. THANK YOU!

    Thank you for your great instructions. The first halter I tried making took me hours. The second a few hours; the third about 40 min. I am so excited that I am making my own rope halters thanks to you! Here's the best part…My mare has a small head. I had to customize the measurements to fit her. Her halter fits just perfect! Again thanks to you, and your video. Appreciate your instructions and how your teaching was presented. Very good step by step instructions. And the video was clear visually as well.

    This is a triumph of clarity. I just love this. I don't have a horse but you've given me names of knots I can look for, like the double overhand and water knots. For future knot-tying videos I would like to suggest putting a small dark-colored dot on the table in the middle of the frame or a bit of tape outside of each corner for the benefit of the person doing the demonstration.

    Very good video. Well thought out and presented. For different sized halters, either measure right on the equines' face as the halter would properly lay, but when you tie the halter allow/add for an inch or so for slack. (have a helper jot down the measurements makes I it a lot easier!)... or take the measurements off a good fitting standard nylon halter. If you don't make the knots hard and fast, you can try it on and do a bit of adjusting for fit. Then finish it off.

    For those struggling, PART OT THIS IS WRONG! at 8:40 when she starts doing the second "simple overhand knot"to make another double overhand knot for the noseband she screws up and that's why the knots on either side of the noseband never come out looking the same.

    How do you measure for the size of your horse so you don't have to do much adjusting?
    Like a list or diagram on where to measure over the nose, where to measure for the cheek, throat latch knot, loop knot, etc?

  • @cbknot
    @cbknot 11 років тому

    Start with about 25. As you get better, you will adjust. By starting with the Right side longer, you should be able to do it in 20ft. Good LUCK:)

  • @cbknot

    Yes, we didn't discuss that in the video. If I'm understanding correctly one side is way longer than the other one when you finish. Try starting with the Right side approx. 2-3 ft. longer at the start. Hope I'm telling you correctly:) R
