No rule of thumb. I'm sure someone has some crazy equation for it. When they were enclosed in just that run and coop we had about 10 hens. They did great in the limited space. They like to pile in on one another in the coop... they don't spread out so I wouldn't worry about having a significant amount of coop space.

Love the video. Love the intro you made. Do you have a rule of thumb on how many hens you keep per square foot of coop (roughly)?
