I think one of the reasons we love how well Vigilante has been played is the fact that he seems to very much accept who he is and what he’s about so he’s genuinely enjoying himself most of the time.

The original Vigilante actor filmed 5 episodes and then quit at the last second (Gunn even thought about killing him off during the coo chase scene) so they reshot all his scenes with this guy Supposedly, originally Vigilante was much older and the serious foil to Chris. The Cable to Peacemaker’s Deadpool. But because the new actor worked so well off everyone in improv they went in a totally different direction

Vigilante is basically an undiagnosed autistic kid that made being an assassin one of his special interests, and Peacemaker is his slightly more sociable ADHD best friend lmfao

It's probably because he's an invincible badass. In all seriousness, though, I have no idea. But I did notice that he was a little bent over in pain the whole time.
In the comics he has a healing factor. Not as strong or as immediate as wolverine's though. I think it was hinted at through the show as he's regularly taking damage only to seemingly recover a few scenes/episodes later (for instance when he drops the grenade and after a nap/going unconscious briefly his suit is still torn but the skin underneath looks healthy again).
