Thank you for these videos! This song brought me to Him. ❤ Typical teenage druggie in the 70’s. This song broke all that. Freedom for almost 50 years! He’s faithful.
This is how to play the guitar! I first heard this song back in the 70's. I like it even more now...45 years later! Thank you Randy, for this rockin' song.
I loved this song in the 70's and still love it now. After the earthquake in Haiti, I was reminded of RS's song "Judgement Day". We need to help our neighbors there. Thanks Randy!
What a great song. So true. You play, you pay... Let's not look be looking back over our shoulder, but rather lets forget what lies behind and press forward toward the goal: the upward call to Heaven that we have in Christ Jesus!
Saw Randy 11 or 12 times in the '70's and '80's. Best live acoustic performer I've seen. One show in Anaheim stands out. At a "church in the round', I think it was called Melodyland. At the end, Randy did an encore, and then, took 20 full minutes to END the song. Pretty much hanging onto 1 chord, he strummed and yelped and "ended " the song over and over and over, I swear, I had a watch, full 20 minutes. I'll never forget. Nice guy too.
Beautiful! thank you for posting this! Randy not only sing very well, but he also plays guitar beautifully in this song.. I really love this guy and his humor!
Hey Randy can really play!! God really used this song when I was just comming to him. A friend at my work gave me the album cause I was alaways taling about God. Now he is saved too.
The album is Welcome to Paradise, and it's available on iTunes. I just bought it last week, because of this song, and a few others. I agree. It's a great song! There are extras on the iTunes version that include demos of this, and some other stuff. Great cd!
Uncle Randy was the guitar maestro!!! I covered his music for years... or tried :) He was a good friend with Keith Green, too. I loved both of them. Welcome to Paradise is a classic, just about every song was amazing. He has a great memory and remembered me each time I had the chance to talk to him. A classy guy, very gracious. Beat that guitar into submission!!! :D
The movie was " Time to Run" the song was "I Love You". I think. I've never actually seen the movie but I know he was in a Billy Graham's movie singing a song by that title.
Wow. There was a song on an old Billy Graham movie titled 'All Gone Away, Just Can't Get them back there's no way..' and I think Stonehill sang it. I cannot find it anywhere. Anyone remember the name of the movie or the song or where it might be located? Very much in this genre.
@@sm6jesse Hi. You seem like a nice person. I'll tell you straight up, it's not real. All of it. Here I am 11 years later, that much more life under my belt, and I know that my belief was delusions brought on by epilepsy. There's no evidence for a God or jesus. I'm wishing you find your way out of faith. And hi to me from 11 years ago.
@@216trixie wow, thanks for replying. I agree, we probably can't prove the existence of God, but i would also argue you can't prove his non-existence either. Evolution doesn't hold water as a theory. I would argue there has to be a God, if only to start this whole ball rolling. Now who or what that God is; well that's where faith comes in. Faith is not weakness, we all have faith (belief) in something. I wish you all the best!
@@sm6jesse correct you cannot prove the existence of god. And it's impossible to prove the non-existence of something so you can't do that either. So you're left with nothing. Admission is the best explanation we have for all the facts we now have available to us regarding where we came from, our evolution. In science, theory is the highest form of an idea period it is the assemblage of all the facts we know. Not a gas. Evolution is real, God is not. I hope you wake up.
Some friends at JPUSA helped me find an LP recording and I posted something fun on here. Search inside this site on 'jbw7 Easter' without the quotes and enjoy Randy in that song too. Beachange.. he did sing 'I love you' in that movie but this song is titled 'Gone Away' but not the version that is everywhere. This is the version that is practically nowhere...until now. :-) Thanks though. In the words of HEART, 'thank you all!'
Read John RW Stott, the Billy Graham of England. He interprs Jesus as not having hell being eternal. I'm not sure any suffering with annihilation is going to turn out to be all that much happier for your sensibilities. You might check out the Seven Day Adventists too. Perhaps there is a question behind this, "Jesus is sicker than me' charge on eternal consequences. Not sure, but the "Jesus wants to" is clear overstatement & likely masks something else. I had to make an appeal.
216trixie, come back to Jesus. He doesn't hold grudges and our unanswered questions and unanswered prayers may well have weight of glory finishes. There can be fabulous come backs. I suspect His is soon.
GK Chesterton said when asked what people would choose to believe if they knowingly thoughtfully reject Christianity, one word, "Anything". I can help you with the two word couplet off-puttings or even one word; witch trials, inquisitions, Jimmy Carter (or) George Bush (take your partisan pick), ... My guess is it is more personal/identity than hell and flood and reason. Best guess, abuse pain. I won't drum up Stalin, Mao, etc but two words for human nature without grace, abused abusers.
Your vid on reason, myth, bullying with the song was very thought provoking and cool. Original? So.. you believe in the universal flood? I do, but your belief in it intrigues me. Many think it regional. If universal it didn't get Noah and his three human sets. As one into mythology, ever read CS Lewis on such? Gen 6 talks of sons of God messing with mortal women reproduction/DNA. Search google on 'babies' DNA military' today. 3 words. Human reason boundaries. Or fallen finite fallible

Really cool. Thanks for posting! Brings back so many blessed memories...
"*Welcome* to Paradise" - 1976
Uncle Rand *did* also do an album called "Return to Paradise", but that was 1989.
And we do run. ... Still

Love this song !!
Even though I left jesus 20 ago, i've never stopped loving Randy, Phil Keaggy and others.
There is always a place for you. Come back to Jesus. His arms are always open.

*** Does anyone know the song Randy Stonehill sang about "I know he's coming back for me"...I don't remember the title.
Is it the song Coming Back Soon?
When was this performance?
@earthalien77 "Coming Back Soon" ?

What happened to contemporary Christian music? It used to be awesome. Maybe it's still is. But what they play on the radio sucks.

@jbw7 .....are you kidding? He wants to put those who don't love him into an eternal torture pit. No thanks.
