Hope everyone enjoys the tour of this epic Colorado Log Home! If you missed the question in the video here it is again, and be sure to reply back! This home is built at 9000' elevation. "What would happen if we brought standard
windows up from sea level to this elevation?"
You guys are excellent, top of the game! Remember Holmes on Homes? Same deal... You are WAY out of most's folks $ range by a long shot. Most of us are poor now thanks to the demons who destroyed pretty much everything including the economy, but it's still nice to dream when you see those who still care enough doing things with pride in
craftsmanship.... right. Thanks!
Thanks for your comments
What would happen
The glass would shatter because of the gas expanding due to pressure ( altitude)
My guess is the gas in-between the panes would create a vacuum (going from sea-level air pressure to 9000ft elevation air pressure) which would either crack the glass or break the seal. BTW, this house is BA!
Stop showing up in my recommendations! I cannot afford these beautiful homes. If I sold my house I might be able to afford a bedroom. I know these are awesome, but it's just wishful --- hold up, that's a nice design you have there. BRB, gotta watch _one more video._
Thanks for watching, groundhero
Best log homes out there! Few years down the road when I’m ready for my dream house already know who to contact!❤️ keep up the amazing work guys!
Thanks Justin
I can’t imagine getting rid of the garage!
I expect a super large out building is in the making.
Now all i need to do is hit the Lottery or PB. Absolutely stunning.
Thanks for watchinf
Nice
Thanks
Love the house. Love Colorado. Its magic❤️🇺🇸❤️
Magic! Love it!
Beautiful home. Windows have to be rated for higher elevations due to gases expanding and damaging and or cracking the window itself.
Thanks for commenting yes
Fantastic home great floor plan this gives me a lot of ideas if I was able to build one this would be it
Glad you like it!
Your videos are some of THE best out there!! You’re HIRED! I will be in touch for our new build in Colorado Springs area near Woodland!! Can’t wait!!
Awesome! Thank you! Let's start planning at least a year and a half out, thanks for watching
@@goldeneagleloghomes Is 18 months out normal timing, or are you guys getting hammered with orders bc of these awesome videos??
That’s a home I would give me life for my family to live in
Thanks for watching
Beautiful home. I loved
Thank you! 😊
Fantastic! My dream home!
Mine too! thanks for watching
I've absolutely loved watching your videos these past few days. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work! Will you be doing more videos showing "tours" of some of the houses/builds that are on your website?
Yes, soon thanks for commenting
@@goldeneagleloghomes Awesome, can't wait to watch! Thanks for the response!
Nice if want to go snow skiing.. which is great exercise .. I live the house and I like the mountains too
Thanks for visiting
The windows would explode due to the elevation and material used. Beautiful craftsmanship.
Yes thanks for commenting
Loved this video and I would guess that the windows would breat due to expansion of the gases.
Keep up the great work!
YES!
i love all all the wood work on the beds and just every where in the cabin i would like to have the kitchen much bigger thou but everything is very beautiful
Thanks Ray, when you are ready to build you can get the kitchen of your dreams!
Logs 🪵 that show the knots and have just been peeled to remove the bark would be good as they show the natural shape, curves and texture! They might not be of uniform shape and hard to build or conform to a uniform shape though but wort the trouble I believe!
Long tie beams look great too! Also white color appliances would be great!
Rental option is also good, should you decide to buy a new ranch home and rent the current one out!
Thanks for your ideas
*drop dead gorgeous dream home*
Thanks i agree
Bloody beautiful
Thank you! We appreciate you watching and commenting!
Colorado and log homes just go together.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Love these log homes but all the “log” furniture is a bit too much for my taste.
Thanks for watching
The log furniture is cheesy. They need a better interior designer. It's like cheesy logs gone wild.
So what's up with the leather furniture in the great room. Kitchen table and outside furniture with beds. That's not alot of wood furniture. Buy hey if I payed hundred of thousands of dollars I would of have way more wood furniture.
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I love it so beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 😊
If it was mine I would have dropped the deck to the top of the windows and doors below to maximize my viewing experience from the great room.

air would expand inside of the sealed window and cause it to break.
You are correct, thanks for commenting
The windows would bow
Thanks for watching and commenting
Mashaallah, ❤️
Thanks for commenting
Taking insulated units up in altitude you risk the unit developing a leak since the outside air pressure has dropped
You are correct Bradley, thats why we order the correct type of window, thanks for watching
Verrryyy nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
The window - the gas is in the windows can expand and possibly shatter/crack.
Yes you are correct, special breathing tubes are used in high elevations, thanks for watching
Love the Bible verses referenced in home
Thank you very much for watching, commenting and appreciating the details!
Take a shot everytime he says "log"
Thanks for watching
Beautiful home, I really admire your work and it seems you have a real commitment to quality. I have to say that I personally find the over-saturated over-sharpened look of the interior photos really obnoxious. I would much rather see the home in more natural (realistic?) photos.
Thanks for watching
It would cause the gas in the windows to expand and crack, and possibly explode the windows.
Yes you understand thanks for answering
I would say the windows would expand and shatter due to the expansion of the gases in them.
Correct thanks for answering, and be sure to subscribe
You said "aluminum clad windows" ... how do you keep them from sweating in the winter time? Also, they make great thermal bridges for losing heat thru your walls.
Aluminum clad windows means the exterior is covered in a thin layer of aluminum in the color of your choice the interior of the window is real wood which is a thermal barrier, thanks for your comment
Since the fireplace was moved to the side could it have been moved to the wall common with the Master suite to create a double sided fireplace? That would create a fireplace in the Master Suite.
Yes, two sided fireplaces are very popular.
the brown tones of the bulk of your film all run together taking away the natural beauty of the home.
Cool, on your custom home you can pick any color you want, thanks for watching
Shame you guys don´t sell to Europe, would love to build one.
Yes indeed, thanks for the nice comment
I have a question about the lighting that is extending down from the log beams in the ceiling, in the kitchen area. How is that done? Is there electricity running through the beams? Are they hollow?
They are not hollow, sometimes they run the wire on top and sometimes drill holes or both thanks for watching
Beautiful home in so many different ways! I'm going to have to say though I was very disappointed with the kitchen. .. seemed so small and cramped .... And that fridge was ginormous and didn't seem to be appropriate for the space .... Just me though. .. these homes are absolutely incredible!
Thanks so much! 😊
The interior pressure of the window, if at sea level, should outgas at higher levels. If the windows are purged at sea level, nothing would happen, since interior pressure is still lower than exterior.
Thanks for commenting
@@goldeneagleloghomes: Was I right?
They put a breather tube in so the glass does not explode
@4:58 I believe, the answer to question is; they would burst!!!
Thanks for your answer Grumpy you are correct
They would burst, because of the pressure. Just ask anyone that used to work for Hurd windows
You are correct!
I'm going to give you a reason to thank me for my word
Nice,
What does a log home like this run to build 400k? Very interested
If you build this home with our "Complete Premium 8"x8" Full Log Package" on an unfinished non-walkout basement in most areas of North America you would expect to pay around $477,000. Next, add the walkout basement for about $70,000 totaling $547,000.
The customers home in the video and photos has larger 10"x10" logs, customized cabinetry, windows, doors, etc. increasing the price $65,000.
One more thing... when you build a home in Colorado, expect to pay more for building costs. You should anticipate another 15% to 20%.
We have many options available and ways to reduce the cost. Our goal here is to give you realistic numbers .Lot costs are not included in these numbers. Give us a call for a free ballbark price on your dream home in your area. 1-800-270-5025 Toll Free

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t unique mean one of a kind. How can that be if anyone can choose the type of wood cutting? Surely as soon as two people choose the same cut, then it no longer becomes unique.
SA thanks for watching
Am with this so deep interested to work with your company golden log home timber🙏
Thanks for your nice comment
@@goldeneagleloghomes am into Carpenter and furniture design work for 7 year's with experience, please give me the chance, am applying for job 🙏
You briefly mentioned "additions" in a comment in one of your videos. can you address adding on to our expanding a log home? How you could do it or maybe show some examples?
Remodeling, additions and how to do it is much more case by case than building new. Sorry, we can't really give you much of an overview without knowing more about your specific home. Our sister company loghomemart.com sells to people that are doing additions maybe they can wok with you.
I was looking at it with respect to not being afford to finish the final "dream" house during the initial build and maybe being able to do it in stages and knowing that upfront. A conventional home would be easier and different to add onto. Thanks for the referral.
realy nice houses , to bad that i live in Europe and dont have money to buy a house like that ...
Thanks for the nice comment
The video mentions the owners are renting out the bottom floor. Any chance you can share booking details? Would love to see this cabin in person.
I am not sure if the owner would want everyone on our youtube account to see that, maybe he would love it? If you call one of these guys they can help you. www.goldeneagleloghomes.com/contact.asp
If not problem to tell, which part of Colorado is this ?

rounded on the outside and flat logs on the inside

Your houses always look so isolated; being this far away, are there any challenges with hooking up water and power supplies to the main grid?
We can always find a way
Me too
Standard windows aren designed for being used at that sort of elevation. Standard windows would ware out and crack over time
Thanks for commenting
Is there a lot of wildlife and snow near the house
Yes indeed, it is in Colorado
Can clients work with outside interior designers and Golden Eagle log timber homes together? Another question, log homes are known to be weak against moisture. How do you reach this problem?
Mae, yes and if a home is designed correctly, log or otherwise moisture should not be a concern.
Windows would crack or the seals would not hold due to the change in elevation
Correct Brandon, thats why we supply windows with breather tubes for high elevation thanks for commenting be sure to subscribe

I have a log home and I have issues of termites even though the logs were treated. How do I take care of this issues besides boric stick shift?
Thanks for watching, call a company such as Orkin or Terminix
I believe all log home dreamers need to be informed of the termite issues and log splitting issues before they embark on a log home purchase.
That's why it's important to be on a regular treatment schedule with a professional company - whether it's a log home or a regular home.

Nothing would happen to your glass if you had breather tubes in the insulated units
Perfect answer
Are hardwood floors water resistant?
If it has a durable finish it is, but you still have the seams, tey make some great looking ceramic wood planks
Condensation between window pains?
Did you see some? When that happens it is called a seal failure and in this case with these being Pella Windows, they will go and and fix that under warranty.
Would they implode?
A two sided fireplace is very common in the industry.
while I get that each home owner has different tastes and style. The dinning room table and chairs just don't work for this cabin at all. The master bedroom has too many wood textures and three different stain colors. The ceiling is fine but the walls and the wood choice for the bed frame don't work. I don't have an issue with the brick work for the fireplace making it a ice feature. But the window casings color right next to the fireplace just isn't working. It just seems there are too many different wood patterns and color stain choices. Everything should compliment the designs and pick up different but at times subtle color cues.
Fantastic,Tony thats whats so cool about designing your own home thanks for watching

@@goldeneagleloghomes That is actually less than I thought. For me looking at this home I would expect $850k or more. Even if I had millions to build such a home I would not, real nice to look at but I could not live in a log home. I would go with an A frame with brick exterior with nice wood accents. But that is just me.
